View Full Version : Training IS Life
Yo, hello brothers
tis my first post here and i'd like to start off by saying thanks for the motivation, for the hardcore mentality that you guys thrust into us.
The Animal lifestyle is something which doesnt limit to training, and in my last year of premed studies, i'm finding it VERY helpful. It's just deep inside of us, that primal, aggressive being. We just need to unlock it.
There's a major technical glitch though. I'm finding it quite hard to train and study. Right now it's either one or the other, and with tests coming my way, i end up not going for like, 10 days in a row. That kinda sucks. Any suggestions?
Thanks
There is always time to train, you just have to have the mental focus and drive to do it. You talk about unlocking the Animal inside of you, well now is when you need to buckle the fuck down and take this shit seriously. School work should be #1, but if you really want to live this lifestyle, there is always a way; it might mean waking up at 5-6 am and driving a half hour to a gym, but if you are truly the Animal you say you are, this isn't even a speedbump in your quest for greatness. So clean house of the distractions, and get yourself back on point. Med school takes a shitload of work and disipline, as does lifting; just put yourself back into total focus...nothing comes easy in this world, and you will have to SACRIFICE to get there.

I totally agree about the distractions.....if your serious you have to focus on your goals. I was in a long relationship with a girlfriend (who had a declining interest in looking out for her fitness) and it had been going south for a while and it was seriously interfering with training. Once I realized what it was doing I ended it. I also realized that I hated training after work because of all the dumbshits in the gym at that time. I now train at 3:30 in the morning when there are at the most 4 people in the entire gym and they are there for one reason, to bust ass and get shit done. This took making sacrifice at night in that I now get to bed at around 8pm instead of 10 or 11. This cuts out on night life.....but that is good because along with that usually comes a lot of other things that you dont need if you are serious about changing your life and becoming the best you can be. Take care of your work and family, stay true to your friends, eat - train and sleep.

for me during finals and studying, training is my getaway, my break from it all. It sucks being stressed out, but you gotta give both sides attention. Its hard to sit in class or stick your face in a book for hours, cause all i think about when i do is my workout for the day. But you gotta fight on and keep studyin. Then when youre done, treat yourself to some deep squats.
I used to think there was something wrong with me. I'd wake up or go to bed the night before trying to figure out the best way to work my schedule around when I wanted to or was able to go to the gym.
Then I found this site and realized I'm perfectly sane. It's everyone else that is screwed in the head.
I've also experienced great gains and have set personal bests since reading the words in this forum. I attribute a lot of that to the inspiration and help I've found on this site.
Keep it real brothers. See you in the gym.
Break it up into small sessions you do not have to do it all at once take a study break bro. Ten days off once in a while is not a bad Idea though
