View Full Version : My workout shorts stink!

I tend to have only one pair of workout shorts that I wear at any given period of time, my "favorite shorts," if you will. Right now I've got a pair of shorts that I like to wear because they're longer and cover up my upper legs (which are currently too skinny to show off).

Anyway, I will usually go weeks without washing these shorts because I have to do laundry at a laundromat, and it's just not worth the time or money to wash only one pair of shorts. So, naturally, they smell really bad.

And it's not just that they smell like the gym (sweat, etc). They smell like butt, probably from constantly riding up my ass during incline benches and the like. But I still wear them, and I don't think I'm gonna stop just because they smell. I know it's unrelated, but I've been making better gains since I started wearing these shorts (which has more to do with convenient timing than anything), so I don't like working out in anything else.

Anybody else have any gross articles of clothing you wear to the gym? Lucky socks, headbands, tanktops, etc?

I pity the fool who has to use the bench after you...

Weeks on end with butt musk, thats sick, cant you just give em a rinse and wring em out in the showers after....thats if you do shower? Bruv you gotta invest in a second pair!

Maybe all that musk and sweat is mixing and over time creating new flavones that are maximising your gains!!!

No excuse, get them in the wash!

I know...I really should wash them. The problem is that I usually forget about it until I put the shorts on. After my workouts, I'm usually too concerned with eating that it slips my mind.

I'll try rinsing them out tonight and see what happens. I'm afraid it might be permanent!

I'll have to buy some more shorts.

I'm pretty good when it comes to washing my stuff... but there is one thing... my IPOD arm band... just stinks... I sweat like a whale... I mean it comes from everywhere.. my shoulders, forearms, shins, ass etc etc. I have had this armband for I think 2 years now and I've washed it once... It actually got so bad the other day it started to semi fall apart because of the moisture. So I said fuck it... and I duct taped it back together.

I'm with you Chin, if I even start thinkin' too hard I begin to sweat. Thankfully I got a deal with the wife; I do the dishes and she does the laundry.

yeah word up. Febreze kicks ass. So I gotta ask, you do have other clothes you wear, right? You don't just wear these day in and day out, right? So, shouldn't that mean that you have other laundry as well? Whenever you do your regular load throw them in with it. You don't need to wash 1 pair of shorts alone, but I'm sure you have dirty shirts, pants, underwear, (god i hope you at least change that) that need to be washed, so INCLUDE YOUR STANKY ASS SHORTS IN THERE! Come on, man, think about other people. We once had an intervention for a friend of mine who stank real bad. We told him, we liked him, but if he didn't start doing something about his odor, we wouldn't hang out with him anymore because it was gross.

I like my "shut the fuck up and train" shirt because everytime its on no one talks to me or bothers me. Also it smells like sweat, but I wash it at least once a week.
