im looking to buy just plain generic creatine-- 200+ servings for $20..for me it works just as good as the other stuff out there..only problem is that it has no sugar in it..should i purchase dextrose on the side? OR can i just take a tablespoon of sugar after a lift? would this be bad? idk thought just popped in my head..

Nothing wrong with a cheap mono, (I'm assuming by "plain generic creatine" you meant monohydrate) to help with absorption you can definitely take some sugars with it. And even if you don't take the creatine after lifting, taking simple carbs post-lifting is still a good choice too. I take my carbs with creatine beforehand, and some more afterwards even though I don't take creatine after.

what would be "good sugars" to take with it?

thanks

As with all things, quality costs a little more. You have to decide what's more important--price or quality. As for the sugar, taking creatine with fruit juice is a pretty straightforward proposition.
