Everywhere I go something wants a piece of me. My boss for sure. I think his natural state is 'pissed off'. Or maybe it's a stick up his ass, I'm not sure. Probably both. He recently called us all in for a meeting where he chewed us out royally. We're still not exactly sure why except that's what he does. He told that he pays us a wage and we owe him a part of our lives because of that. He went on to demand 100% sacrifice from us. Huh. He pays me 8 fuckin' 50 an hour! And that's what he's gonna get. From seven to four with an hour lunch I give him 100% of $8.50 an hour. Plus there's hazard pay for putting up with his bullshit all day. I have to factor that in myself though. Now don't get me wrong, I do my job and appreciate having one. Especially one that works with my college and lifting schedule. But he wants more than he can get outa me. His demands are unrealistic. He wants me call him master and ask how I can make him more money and make his life easier. Shit.

There's my gripe. Y'all can understand this. Bodybuilders probably get less support than any other athlete. How many of us when we got into this sport didn't get told "that's a waste of time", or "Do something worthwhile"? Very few people say "awesome! go for it!" They want us to be like them. Or maybe they just can't handle someone else being bigger, or stronger, or just plain more than them. We gotta be politically correct right? My nephew is five yyears old and he just started playing soccer. They don't keep score "oficially". Trying to say there's no winners or loosers I guess? I think it's damn funny because every little kid out there wearing a jersy knows what the score is. There are winners and loosers in life. Saying there aint none is another way of making us all loosers in my mind. I aint gonna bow to that.

People wanna come up to me and tell me I'm wasting my time...fuck 'em. People aint gonna support me cuz they don't agree with my standings or goals... they can kiss my ass. I make myself. I grew up my whole with my pops telling me to fight for what I want. He made me a warrior, and it seems the rest of the world don't like that. Not much they're gona do though when you get back in their face and stand your ground. People always tryin' to tell us how it is and what we should be like. I don't bow to them. The very fact that we persistantly pursue this sport makes us defiant. We go against the grain. It's a struggle, but struggle is nature's way of making us stronger. We're made of tougher stuff than the rest of humanity. I remember that everytime someone or something trying to stand in my way. I remember that each time I enter the weight room and hit it hard. I'm a conqueror and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm not gonna get on my knees and admit defeat. I'll fight until there's not a drop of blood left in my body and then die proudly if that's what it comes to. I'll be what I want to be. I'm a fighter. I bow to no one.

Well, no doubt you're a conqueror. You've just answered a lot of guys. Remember the ones that ask 'I'm going to college, I'm working, how can I lift?'. You've answered them.

Unless your boss whom everyone would like to see a cattle prod up his ass tells you to take a hike, do your best as it sounds like you are doing, get your school work and lifting done, as you are & pull the strong silent Clint Eastwood repsonse to those that diss/doubt you....."I lift, I like it." Nuff said.

Chances are good even after college you're going to have to deal with bosses, people with ass appendages. You deal with, adapt & hold fast to what matters to you.

You got it off your chest, now go pump your chest. You gave a good answer in the form of a question here.

(The following post is not directed at any one person)

What is it with the overdramatization of the "hardships" peaple encounter when peaple pick up"bodyubilding". Normal peaple veiw bodybuilders as the freakishly huge guys on magazines, mainly just the pros. Everyone else, who usually makes these claims of hardships, they just see as someone who likes to lift weights and be in shape, and think nothing more than "oh, his hobby is lifting, thats cool." and could not care less, they dont give it a second thought.

Alot of peaple lately are talking about the hardships, or how they like to rep the bodybuilding lifestyle, be ambassoders to the sport, well guess what? Unless your large and developed enough to be a cash prize winning competitor, peaple just see another guy who really likes lifting. So, cut the self glorification crap, shut it, and go about your business.
