Is this the end for big Ron? What happened to Branch?

Branch didn't compete, I think he announed that a while ago. I thought I heard somewhere he was just taking a year off to get more work in? Anyone know?

I'm quite upset with the results by the way. I think Vic should have taken it, even Dexter over Jay, Wolf higher, and I think Jackson/Henry should have been over Badell, probably even Samuel too.

Branch took some time off to improve certain things in his physique I think.

Ronnie said he is gonna do some shows but nothing like the Olympia. He said he would do the Arnold Classic though.

I did not think that Dexters placing was fair. Ronnie should have placed above him...Dexter in my eyes does have a great phisique but he's just one of those genetically gifted guys who eats shit and whatnot and still looks like a bodybuilder. He even mentioned in a video that he doesn't like to eat so he drinks shakes or somethin...that to me is not a real bodybuilder and just because of his genetics it that doesn't mean shit to me...little respect for these guys in my eyes. and Ronnie will always be number 1, that's for damn sure. That is my opinion.

and ronnie eats fries in all his dvds... whats ur point?

genetics play a role in bodybuilding... some got it easier when it comes to conditioning than others.... doesnt make them any less of a bodybuilder

ronnie coleman should switch over to powerlifting figure if he already reps 800 on deadlift and squat and bench prolly close to 600 what if he never cut or anything

I didnt see ronnie eating fries all the time in his DVDs, in fact in his last dvd all I see him eating is beef, chicken and rice etc. Maybe he has a cheatmeal like all of us do, but not doing it non stop 24/7 like dexter and dexter also admits on a training video that " i don't like to eat, I don't like food" well sorry but if you are a bodybuilder you gotta eat man, not rely on protein shakes all day long and look like that, just doesn't deserve that spot in my eyes. The muscle just pops on him out of nowhere...I think guys like Melvin or wolf should have placed higher than him

I can't believe you're ripping on a guy for having good genetics... who likes to eat chicken and rice 6 times a day? Have you read Vinny's new article on universalnutrition.com... he says himself that he hates eating 6 times a day. I guess we should just hate Vinny too then

Why would you diet so hard if you didn't need to? I sure as hell wouldn't... his diet was obviously good enough to get him 3rd place at the Olympia so he must be doing SOMETHING right. Give credit where its due...

Unfortunately bro, judging how someone looks has absolutely nothing to do with how they achieved that body. Sitting there in front of the stage judging, you don't sit there and ask the other guys on the panel who they think works the hardest or who has the best diet....that's not your job, you look at what's on stage and nothing else. Dex got third because he was the third best looking bodybuilder up there. I do disagree with some of the other placings, but not because of what people did to achieve what they have.

to me Victor won this won. All credit to Cutler but I think it was Victor's since Friday night. I had it like this
1. Victor
2. Dexter
3. Jay
4. Melvin
5. Wolf
6. Gustavo
7. Ronnie
8. Johnnie
9. Henry
10. Silvio

What the hell happened to Toney Freeman?

im glad jay won a 2nd time after him walkin in the shadow of ronnie for so long i felt he deserves it.. was gutted to see ronnies condition on the day its almost like hes given up.. in my eyes ronnie will always be one of the greatest ...... but im sure next year jay wil have hes work cut out .. as dexter and victor are most defenatley steppin up ...

my 2 cents.......... someone mentioned earlie that a guy clearly has genetics due to being able to eat what he likes?.... imo.... simply just being that size on that stage tells me they ALL have genetics ... as im lead to believe the average man CAN NOT look like that no matter how hard he trains.. your body will only let you get so big .. and as you can see, the olympians are freakin HUGE not big..

i was very proud of wolf
and ronnie is just amazing. he truly loves this sport and lifestyle and hes a great person. nobody will ever take 9 sandows.
i would have liked to see phil heath compete, i think if he was on his game he coulda been up there in the placings, hell i think he would have at least took gustavos spot.

Im supper stoked for David Henry. Hes been busting his ass with no real pay off for along time. Congrats to him on cracking the top ten.

I though Johnnie Jackson looked incredible aswell. He has missed that coveted top 10 list for quite some time, it was awesome to see him get some Olympia recognition.

I didnt find it all that funny the way Gustavo acted, it was actually quite pitiful. I think his placing was a gift.

Wolfe was fucking amazing. His most-muscular was down right scary, must be a german thing, haha. I had him in the top three.

It almost brought a tear to my eye when they anounced Ronnie name. I thought he went out with class. By the end of the night, it looked to me like he knew he wasnt going to win, but that didnt stop him from smiling the whole time.

I know there are alot of Cutler fans on here, but he was beat hands down by Victor. Victor just looked like Mr olympia up there. He physique put my mind to Ronnie Coleman, circa 01 Arnold Classic, only bigger.

The competitors brought some great physiques last night, but all in all, I didnt like the way it was put together. The stage looked like a high school theater. I mean, this is the Olympia, couldnt they have put a little thought into it.

Remember, these are MY opinions. I dont meant to disrespect any of my fellow animals with my own personal thoughts. I just wanted to share my two cents.

From what i saw of it Vic should have won with dex taking second and jay bringing up third. Jay was still carrying water around in his legs and lower back. And did anyone else notice that one leg was bigger than the other by a noticable sum? Dex should have been second cause his conditioning was right on the mark as always and his physique is amazingly complete. Vic should have been first because he carries a great amount of mass and his conditioning was right on the money.

In the Olympia serries and a recent interview on Pro Bodybuilding Weekly radio, ronnie said he wasn't going to be doing the olympia anymore, but will try to further his career doing more european shows such as the grand prixs... maybe the arnold classic too. Who knows though.. Big nasty is still and will forever be the best bodybuilder in History and will go down in the books. I have respect for ALL of the men and women who competed in the olympia.

Victor has an astonishing physique with the most beautiful aesthetics to ever set foot on stage. With that being said, so do a few others including Dexter Jackson.. I think Gunter Schilerkamp said it best towards the end of the show when Dexter was posing. He basically said that Dexter just really isn't big enough to ever crack the top 2 on the olympia stage and that this was a "big mans" game... I disagree to a certain point with his second comment, but I do agree that Dexter really just isn't big enough to ever make it in the top 2.

I wish the Olympia still had a 2nd weight class. I think more people want to see more classic physiques like when frank zane won 3 times. I think there are 230lb bodybuilders that look better than Jay Cutler. I don't think Cutler should have won.

Man, crazy results, but I cant argue too much. Personally I think Gust. is a cry baby and just over-rated, but thats just my opinion. Hit placing is always a gift actually.... Stop crying dude and suck it up.

Also I love Wolfe, he's an animal. I loved Marcus but he's just gotten almost too big and not lean enough... I dunno, still a fan fav. but I think Wolfe is gonna be a new fan fav. for sure.

At the Arnold he was just chillin at their booth and naturally I had no idea who he was cuz Im dumb like that, and I didnt even ask for an autograph or anything, wait maybe that was because I was so focused on The Cage I didnt care. But I think Wolfe will have a ton more to come...

Discusting. Jay did not deserve to win. Victor had it hands down. But somehow Cutler takes it? Bullshit. Bodybuilding is filled with this kind of stupid shit that I personally don't understand. Jay was smooth, His lower back ect.

This sport is really headed in a bad direction. And with Ronnie retiring I'm really dissappointed. Mad respect for Ronnie leaving when he wanted to, not when other people wanted him to.

I wanna say I love Jay and I think he's a great champ, but he didn't deserve this one. Victor came in amazing. I watched the webcast and I personally thought it was over once he hit the stage. And no offense to Ronnie because he's the best ever in my opinion, but he didn't look good at all in my opinion. His midsection didn't have anything. He obviously had incredible size but his definition was off. My top five looked like this: Victor, Dexter, Jay, Wolf, Ronnie. I also want to say that I was really impressed with Johnnie Jackson. It's about time he cracked the top 10.

that's not the point we are trying to make. It's all about who is the best bodybuilder on stage at the time of the show. Jay clearly was not that bodybuilder it was Victor Martinez. Victor had a better combination of size, symmetry, and aesthetics than Jay Cutler did. Jay had three rolls of loose skin in his lower back while Victor had a perfectly shaped christmas tree.

I think thats subjective, dont get me wrong but jay clearly outsized victor and jay was in shape. Victor was in great shape and he does have good asthetics but so did dexter so did david henry do you think david henry beat jay? When it comes to the O you have to knock the current champ out by a landslide it cant be a close race which this one was. IMO there are times when dorian arnold and ronnie should have lost but the other competitors did not over whelmingly beat them. I think victor only had jay in the front double bi and thats really it. next year will be interesting w/o ronnie in the mix

Subjective is right...not like basketball, throw a ball in a netted hoop and you get points, there is no"official" rule book on how a physique is judged, and let me go out on a limb here...I feel bad for the women, should they come it tighter-bigger-harder-softer...what?
It is twice as hard for them--NO JOKE!

There has to be a basic guidline, and the judges, maybe some guys like a bigger-fuller body than a more tighter aesthetically pleasing body...

David Henry--round muscles-full muscles-hard as a rock and looked very very good, but he is what just over 200lbs. Next to Jay-Vic-Dennis is falls down, when he stands alone ---he will win every show!

I really think they should bring back a under-over 200lb-210lb class!

I've got mixed feelings about this year's O. For one I'm a big time supporter of Cutler, have been for years, but I agree with a lot of others, I really did not think he deserved to win. And if the judges were looking for the mass and not so much the definition they should have looked more at Wolf. Did anyone else notice that Cutler did his best to avoid standing next to Wolf. And when he did Wolf had him on every pose. Only thing I saw was Wolf was tighter in the mid-section and not quite as big as Cutler when it came time to legs, more specifically the hammies and calves. And in my opinion I feel Dexter had the best symmetry/definition, he just cant compete when it comes time to mass. This year's O was definitely one that will be talked about for a long time to come. I'm personally looking forward to seeing how Warren will do when he does step on stage for the O. The mass freaks are all but gone now that Coleman, Gunter and Ruhl are out. The only ones left will be Cutler, Wolf and Warren, I really dont think there are too many other guys that will be able to stand up to these men. I'm also waiting for the day we see our own Machine, Wrath, House and Ox standing on that stage. Now that will be a battle to watch!
