alright man, i have a different opininion then most people on this, and trust me i'm no pro so i don't know that i'd listen to my advice, but i haven't had a steak in 2 months i used to eat a steak everyday and i wasn't gaining that much, but here's my diet

7 am: 2 cups of oatmeal and 5 egg's and a banana
9 am: 5 egg's and a power bar sitting in english
11 am: 2 cups of brown rice with 2 chicken breasts and mixed veggies
12 pm: serving of real gains with 22 ounces of milk
1 pm start taking sup's for workout at 2
3 eat a protein bar half byway through workout.
4 can of tuna and can of new potato's
5: two chicken breasts and 10 egg's on a large bowl of lettuce with an orange
7: 5 egg's and two of those little cups of yogurt with 2 avocado's
9: 3 cups of cottage cheese mixed with a hand full of peanuts

when i started out i was 220 with about 15 percent body fat and now i'm about 245 with about 11 percent body fat. red meat works for most people, but i didn't feel like it was for me. listen to what your body and training tells you to do.

As long as you are eating a variety of foods as well, it's fine to eat a lot of red meat.

i just realized i didn't answer your question. when i started eating alot my parents made me talk to a doctor about it to make sure it was healthy, and he told me red meat raises blood pressure and cholestorol and other things, but then i've also read that the fat in red meat helps raise testosterone level's.

Everyone says everything is bad for you.

Keep active, drink a lot of water, get your fiber in and be happy.

If you can afford to eat steak twice a day than not only do I support you, but I'm jealous.

yes, a lot of red meat is bad, if you're just eating that. But if you eat other things with it, such as fiber, get your fruits and veggies, it helps combat any negative effects of red meat.

Hey Trav, not calling you out or anything. but did you talk to your doc about the 25 eggs in your diet??? And you are worried about the cholestorol in red meat? Oh well, we all get our cholestorol from somthing loaded with protein!!! Keep up the great work on your bulking!

so latley ive been eating lean ground beef about 3 times a day, and steak every second or third day and i was wondering how this will effect my heart/health?
i eat plenting of veggies drink lots of water, take vitamins, and do cardio every second day. would this cancel out the health effects of red meat or should i eat less of it?

It's not that easy to answer. There is family history, genetics, and other dietary factors to take into account.

As long as you're getting blood work done and your numbers aren't elevated, I think you'll be good. There are always new studies that come out. Some say it's not as bad as once stated, some say it'll cause this or that, but what are you gonna do? If you didn't eat anything that was deemed to cause something, you'd starve to death.

I personally eat red meat at least twice a day and I get blood work done every other month (for different reasons), and the doctor has never said a word about my diet.

When in doubt, ask your doctor. I think that in this game, it's good to have a healthy relationship with your doctor.

Good luck brother.

I never thought about that.....good call. I think I will be in to see my other doc this week since I am not lifting or training this coming week.
