Im an American living in the UK...let me tell you..its too dam expensive here. I never buy supps here. 1 pound is equal to 2 dollars pretty much, so if that Uni Bag is $40 stateside and $40 pounds here...that means your paying close to $80 here for that gym bag! And I have seen it for that price too.

Gyms here, Well...some gyms may be suitable for normal lifters..all are suitable for the recreational or poser lifter. Most cater to woman really who are just wanting to stay in some sort of shape. Honestly, I have only seen a few guys here that were huge like Wrath and Vinny G. I have not seen any PL'rs yet and Im here 3 yrs now. Maybe Im not looking in the right places but I have been searching for a gym locally for a while and have not found one to my liking yet..plus they charge way too much for memberships and the equipment isnt even up to par.

I train on the military bases here. They have the best gyms on the American bases...and they are free for card holders of course.

Toni's right, it is way too expensive over here. i pay £28 pounds a month whivh is about $60 for gym membership, the pak is about £27.99 so again about $50-55. and protein is the same, £32 a tub. its ridiculous.

You make the atmosphere in the gym.. if you're driven enough, you can make a sh*thole with dirt floor and rusty barbels the most beautiful place on earth.

I'd trade the gym bag and shaker bottles for what you guys have anyday.

1)Everything is ridiculously expensive here. Cheapest WHEY - $50
PAK - $50, TORRENT & NITRO $70 and so on...

2)All the gyms are aimed at conditioning/aerobics/cardio. Im joined to an LA FITNESS (convenience, its next to my work) $80 per month and the weights area is a little area in the corner, the squat rack was broke for 3 weeks before being fixed, yet there are 30 treadmills, 15 bikes etc.

3)The weathers shit here 95% of the year. This summer we had none, just floods.

4)Schools dont bother with sports, playing fields are sold off to accomodate housing.

5)It takes about 3 months before new Universal/Animal products become available here.

you said it bro, I'm in Europe too, prices are really high, and yeah, it takes sometimes more than 3 months before any universal product hits the shelves here...

I'm not talking about the atmosphere... I'm talking about how well-equipped the gyms there are compared to the ones here in North America.

See Toni's post above.

True, never ever seen a T-BAR, REVERSE PEC DECK, HAMMER STRENGTH MACHINES, DECLINE LEG PRESS, CALF RAISE STANTION. I could go on forever. But thankfully this is a sport where the basics get the job done. I wont grow with machines, just with the right attitude.

its not even machines man..I went to check out this one gym and their db's didnt go past 40lbs! Now cmon..even I go heavier than 40lbs. 40lb db's wont even fly with me for incline db flys anymore.

Its just different here.

I know it's a little off topic but I was in Turkey once and found a gym there, it was like bizarro world with their non-olympic weights and sizes, their KG metric shit, and their "assemble your own dumbell" as you go shit! I'll stick with my USA gyms thank you....

Toni69

its not as much as it is here, but the cost of living in the UK is also higher...so the minimum wage will be higher than the U.S. Im not sure exactly what min wage is in the U.S...last time I heard it was about $6 per hour, right?

I thought it was like 7 something now...who knows. Also in the UK, the Queen gets her cut of EVERYTHING! They tax everytime you take a leak virtually!
