If I eat cereal, I usually eat fiber one. I also occasionally will have a cheat day and eat some peanut butter captain crunch. I personally dont put protein powder in my cereal, but I eat eggs with my cereal.

2 scoops of whey and a bowl of corn flakes is my favorite pre-workout fuel. I think cereal and milk is a good snack if you can't wait to eat your next meal. When Arnold trained with Reg Park the first time they ate protein powder and corn flakes after their workout. Awesome!

I eat Kashi Go Lean.. It's got 13g of protein, 10g of fiber and 30g of carbs..

I usually mix it with strawberrys or blueberrys, and top it with low fat yogurt instead of milk.. A lot of people think the yogurt part is pretty gross but it's really good once you try it

Shredded Wheat (the big-ass biscuits, I dunno - just something about them)
Cheerios
Total

And I eat all of my oatmeal uncooked and cold.

Mix some kasha with those raw oats for a toasty flavor.

I cook my oats in water..I dont do dairy but I do like eating dry cereal as a snack..just the good stuff. Cracklin oat bran is the ultimate snacky cereal! Addictive stuff right there!

I hear ya, brother. Sometimes some regular cereal and milk is what ya crave, and as far as cravings go, it's better than some things. Just try to stick with cereals that are whole-grain, have a good amount of fiber (preferably above 5g a serving), and low sugar.

However, if its cold food you crave in the morning as opposed to a steaming bowl of oatmeal, try this:

Mix oats, milk (or water), blueberries, and cinnamon in a bowl before you go to bed. Do not cook them, simply cover the bowl in cellophane wrap, and put it in the fridge overnight. The next morning you'll have a cold bowl of cereal. I've really enjoyed this combination. Add some almonds in the morning for that crunch you miss with oatmeal.

Serious question - what does having asthma have to do with style of cereal eaten?

Serious question - what does having asthma have to do with style of cereal eaten?

Sometimes milk can aggravate your breathing if you are really asthmatic. It can cause excess mucus to block an already restricted airway. I used to have this problem when I was younger.

Edit: I solved this by having orange juice in my cereal when I was younger, but it isn't as healthy as milk.

It may not actually the cereal, but the milk. Depending on the type of aggrevation mechanism a person may have for their asthma, dairy products can increase the production of mucous in the airway, and/or irritate the membrane, thereby triggering an attack.

doesn't have to do with the style of cereal, but the fact that i try to avoid milk wherever possible. that's why i usually eat it dry. most days i'd take my protein shake with milk for the extra calcium but when i get problems with my breathing i'd mix it with juice or water for a few days.

The only one of those I got as a kid was oatmeal. My parents wouldn't buy the other stuff because a) it was to sugary, and b) because my sister and I didn't really like it. Always liked the cereals I posted before.
