I'll usually bust a pose for a split second in a joking way and laugh about it, but not actually try to show off. It's just not in my nature.

I dont, but thats because I dont like to. I dont like the attention on me. Now that Im back on campus after a long hard summer, everytime I walk into a room and see someone I havent seen for a couple months or even a couple weeks, they ask me how much I bench and that my arms are too big for my shirt expecting a flex. I just kind of change the subject to football or something. But if they are honestly interested, then ya ill talk to them and tell them what I do.

Oh ok, I guess its just that now I'm in Mexico and I guess there not used to seeing bodybuilders/athletes my size. I'm not even big (IMHO, looking at House and Wrath) but I still get asked.

lol I don't even like to flex for my friends really.... I'm kinda shy that way. I'm not a big fan of showoffs either. I'll still flex between sets and stuff at the gym but if someone asks me I'm usually reluctant to... just the way I am lol. I wouldn't consider it showing off if you posed for someone who asked u to, but when I see some people posing to clearly show off it irritates me.

I still go to high school so there are "posers" all around. I love seeing these lil kids in these cut up muslce shirts trying to show off while i sit in the corner in my long sleeve shirt with my hat pulled down laughing to myself. And when i say lil i mean my forearm beats their upper arm on size. And it beats their quads.

For the record, the big guy doesn't HAVE to pose! It's right there, everybody knows it.

I was having a hard time explaining a financial concept to the board and I ripped off my tie and shit to give a flex. I was freaking out and went straight to the gym after that. I will flex anywhere. Why to through the pain if you can not bust out your muscle here and there. Fuck it, just do it.

If someone asks me to show them how to pose. I will teach them to the best of my ability and knowledge so far. But if they ask me to pose in a showing off way then fuck no.

Rarely pose, maybe i throv a latspread if im in the kinda kidding mood. If someone asks me to pose i tell em the have to pose too, hehe, always funny. Im not that big, but with 240lbs on a 6f frame at 19 i get some attention from people who clearly never have seen people who lift weights.

I'll be honest, by myself, I pose all the time....even though I'm gonna wait a long time before I compete, I can't wait for it. Normally when someone grabs my arm or something and tells me to flex there's no point, I mean you can clearly see what I look like without flexing. Society calls us arrogant meatheads, but they're the ones who always tell people to flex or whatever. I just don't see the point to posing in public, anyone got a reason for it?

im a "serial Flexer"

wherever i may be, in public or not, if ever i see a mirror or a shiny object in which i can see my reflection, i am overcome with an uncontrolable impulse to pose. Be it in a public restroom mirror, or the cookware section of your local store. i do it only for myself, to see how im shaping up, and make critiques. and yes, admire myself. i dont show off to anyone, i dont want to be seen by anyone in fact, but its hard to cover up hitting a side tricep pose while im walking past a buidling with shiny windows. hahahha

If you can't pose when asked and afraid your gonna "show off",then how you gonna do it on stage? What do you think Bodybuilding is? Its busting your ass to show off what you've build through hard labor.

It's one thing to walk into a room of people and say " wanna see my muscles?" its another thing to strike a pose when asked...or even for self critisim.Machine posed for pictures...Wrath did..House did ..oh wait ALL Bodybuilders do,Are they showoffs or arrogant? This is a selfish sport gentlemen...accept that..and if anyone thinks its "arrogant" to flex your hard work then your a hypocrite and you are one of the people who stereotype our sport.Realize its all part of the game and the rest will be gravy.

My BOSS - It's absurd. Anytime a businessman comes in my boss calls me to his office and is like - "look at him, he benches this much, feel his arms, he spends all his time in the gym" and I'm like "uh...boss, no offense but I don't want random men rubbing me - or any man for that matter."

I dunno if anyone mentioned this or not... but you should be flexing. Not in public... but when you practice flexing during a workout and on your own, I believe you really develop that "mind-muscle" connection. It really makes your workouts more effective when you can feel the target muscle working IMO.

i dont do it often. if its a ypung kid its always " how much do you bench or flex for me". i usualy try to switch the subject or avoid it. if they keep on ill say something like, more then you or if its for a pose ill flex my quads. they dont even realize cuz they're waiting to see my bicep curl up and flex. i have less of a problem doing a post muscular pose because its less known to the general public and my traps are my best body part. its how they ask and where i am. usualy i realised, if a girl asks me to flex for her shes normaly already goin for my arm so i do it (well, if shes hot!!!!). aslong as you are not trying to show off, flexing for people is fine. anyways, its always the toothpick kids trying to out do each other, flexing their chicken wings as my gym teacher refers to their arms lol!

Full length mirror in my room... Pose down... in public... Hoodie... It could be a million degrees outside I will still wear a hoodie...

I don't ever dare pose down in public... I feel like I am stepping out of my zone that drives me... stepping down to a "public/normal" level...

The only time I ever pose... is when I run... w/dri fit shirt or no shirt...

I don't really pose. In between sets I will flex a muscle as hard as I can, but it isn't pretty. I am the only one in the gym anyways. I am a little too self conscious to pose. When I am lean, I feel small. When I am not, I feel fat. I suggest changing the subject, or coming up with something a little clever. When a guy asked me to flex the other day, I responded "Sorry man, you seem nice, but I don't like you THAT much." His gf laughed and he blushed, before changing the subject for me.

I don't pose, but I will demonstrate my strength sometimes by bear-hugging the crap out of my roommate.

He's a little guy anyway, over a foot shorter than me, so it's really kind of funny to watch.

thats different tho.... we are talking bout the wannabes posing to get looks and praise when all they are, are lil curl monkeys... instead of the up and coming which u are referring to... when i pose it'll be with a training partner in the back when im seeing what i need to workon ... not in front of the whole gym showing off... u see what im saying bro?

Arnold was a firm believer in posing between sets to further contract, harden and better condition his muscles..plus it gave him better control of the muscle and it kept him pumped for longer.

Flexing is an isometric exercise...its all Bruce Lee did besides his martial arts.
I agree 100% when Arnold said, "a BB'r who poses and flexes in the gym, watching him/herself (cause I do it too), in the mirror, is engaged in a very important part of his/her wo."
