is it a good idea to premix a protein shake with milk, oats, some fruits and pb in a thermos for a few hours?

Is it a good idea??? If you must use milk, I would have a cooler and keep that shit cold. I'm not a huge fan of spoiled milk myself. Otherwise, use water.

I never learned if the protein broke down or not over time in water, I usually would need to make a shake then drink it 2 hrs later in class, but lately I've been mixing in class.

Can we get a firm answer on this?

Does protein/carbs become less effective if they're in water for an hour or two?

No. Just make sure the food's not going bad though.

It might breakdown, depending on the fruits you have, but not enough to affect your desired outcome. A regular shake, nothing else in it, wont matter if it sits in water. However, if your fruits are acidic, it might breakdown the protein or carbs a little. I think in a thermos it would do just fine.

lol I remember about 6 months ago I threw some coffee and cookies and cream protien powder into a thermos and shook it and ran out the door. I got to the place I was going and opened it about three hours later.

The pressure from the expanding heat pushed the protein to the top and congealed it. I basically had caffinated protein gum. Cookie flavor. I chewed on it for a long ass time. lol

whenever we cook meat/eggs we de-nature the protein and then our bodies put it back together so we can use it.
