I say don't try to prove anything to anybody. You owe it only to yourself. Let them do what they may do, and you do what you know is right. There's a wide variety of issues in the world, and a million opinions on a million issues. If we catered to every viewpoint on the radar, we'd spend our whole lives making excuses and allowances. Live your life. You can only know what works for you, and stay true to yourself.

Hate to break it to you but all the extensive research I have performed on Milk Thistle and liver detox has come up negative. Of course, different studies work for different people, but on the one's I have noted and the one's in which I personally have researched, the studies have come up that milk thistle is strictly a placebo effect. The subjects taking a placebo compared to those taking a standard dosage of milk thistle, had the same enzymes in the liver, as well as the some composition and toxins.

The best cleanse of your liver is well, your natural bodies ability to clean it by itself. However drinking water, taking a daily mulit-mineral/vitamin will of course help this scenario.

Now, some possible ways to help detox your liver naturally without herbal treatment (milk thistle) woudl be: Omega 3/6, a B complex, however in a B complex leave out B1 (Glactone), Multi-vitamin, and Selenium.

P.S. If you do want to try and throw something in their face (which isn't necessary, because they shouldn't be doing the same to you and if they are, throwing something back in their face is just as immature as they were in the first place) you can explain this to them.

By mega-dosing Milk Thistle, it did prove to have a detox effect on the liver, however; since it is herbal the parameters of most research are not large enough to prove that this would be effective on each individual.

Hope this helps
