Hey guys, so today i went for an ultrasound, just to chek up on things. The docter said that my spleen and liver are bigger than what they are suppose to be. I told her what had caused this, she said do u take any protein powders n stuff? and i told her i did. She said thats the cause and other things such as (creatine, N.O.). She told me to stop taking these supplements, but told me the multi is okay.

I dont know guys, but i dont think its the protein, I hardly have one shake a day! I dont drink alcohol nor do i smoke! Has anyone come accross to things like this? I need your help!

Thanks.

yeah well thats what my doctor tells me but im pretty sure if you surf the google toolbar you should be able to find plenty of evidence that this only happens when creatine is takin in an excess of 10 grams a day make sure to only take the recomended dose of every supp and protein shakes cant possibly be a result because its basically a nutrient dense particalized steak correct me if im wrong but nobodys liver and spleen ever exploded from to much meat?

Agreed, but also you should seek a second opinion like what B said. Watch yourself, bro. This isn't something to mess around with.

I was going through an article about enlarged liver, this is what i found...

-Some supplements can damage the liver, including kava, comfrey, chaparral and pennyroyal. Avoid high doses of vitamins A, D, E and K.

quik question, does Animal pak have average amount of doses in vitamins? and i read at this site that a male should have maximun vitamin A 10,000 IU. Animal pak containts, 9,900 IU. if you count that plus other food wich contain vitamin A... isnt that kind of overdose?

alrighty, here are my .02 cents on this matter.

and this goes for EVERYONE.

THE INTERNET, is not a fucking doctor. websites, arent fucking doctors..

DOCTORS, there are a million of them out there, if you dont like what you heard, go get a 2nd opinion.

FORVMs, are not full of Doctors. asking medical advice on here, when non of us are doctors, is assinine.

now that that is out of the way....

go get a 2nd opinion if you dont like that doctor.

animal pak doesnt overdoze you, they are water soluble fat soluble and time released vitamins

You need to talk to a Dr. who understands you and what your doing, not some one who has never lifted a weight before in there life. I think it's easy for a Doctor to blame what they don't understand as the problem. Also how does the Dr know you haven't always had enlarged organs..... I would say get a second opinion from a Dr who lifts weights or played college sports see what they say. Good luck bro.

how much do you weigh? I think wieght can have an effect on the size of your liver and spleen but that may only be in extereme cases.

Enlarged liver and spleen can be from anything... protein maybe, supplements maybe... family.. probably. Did you have a ultrasound before you started lifting to give a comparison? Doctors jump to conclusions when the answers are not clear. I would get a second opinion and see what they say. Bodybuilding isnt a large enough culture to assume that they all have enlarge livers due to protein and supplements. Sure anything in high doses can cause havoc on your body. Too many burgers have effects but no one seems to tell anyone about the "effects"

You gotta look carefully bro the percentages and the amount of vitamins on the can label is for two packs...If your worried about the high amounts then one should be fine for you

Just got back from my second doc. he said that can happen from "too much" anything. So like, too much protein, creatine, alcohol and so on.

NOTE : Whatever you do or take, have a limit to it! Do not go overboard!

Thanks, again.

if you take too much of any supplement without drinking plenty of water itll fuck up your lvier, your liver is where all the excess goes, and you cant release it via excrement so you needd to pee it out, therefore you needd to drink plenty of water to cleanse your liver, id say stop takign the no's the creatines etc for a little while, drink plenty ofwater and maybe get a liver cleansing and spleen cleansing product...obviously im no doctor, but all fo what i had stated is what muy doctor told me when i went to talk to him abotu if creatine was right for me, i decided against it and now only take protein and carbs liek the old days before creatine was around
