hey guys i have some question about lean body mass.

1. with a proper diet and extensive cardio how long should it take a person of 190 pounds with lets say 14% body fat to get down to a lean body mass weight, i know its a stupid question because its different for everyone but you pros out there who go from a huge bulk to a nice cut body what time frame were u guys looking at when you did that.

2. last year i whent from 210 hit the gym for 2 hours 6/7 days a week for about 7 months and started to do huge cardio with a really high protein diet to about 178 on my best day but i never say the lean cut muscle and it worried me because i thought 32 pounds would probly do it but it did not and i was not very over weight at the time, so im just wondering is there a really thin line were u see nothing or really start to see results on a cut or should i have been seeing something at that point? (hard question to answer if u cant understand it im sorry and dont bother answering it)

thanks for taking the time to read this

In my opinion cutting is extremely hard. If you do too much cardio you can risk losing that lean-mass you want to keep. Lets say with your high-protein diet, you didn't include a lot of energy cals(carbs/fat) so whats your body going to do? its going to go after muscle tissue, because you are feeding your body with protein, so in turn you make your body think thats the new energy source.

I just don't understand why someone would go on a low carb/fat diet, it just doesn't make sense when you understand what the body uses those macro nutrients for.

like you said in your question this is differnt for everyone. it will depend on the type of diet youre eating, and the amount of cardio youre doing along with the type of training youre doing in the gym.

when you say lean body mass weight are you talking 0% body fat? or just really lean?

your second question was pretty much answered in a round about way... if you dont eat a good amount of carbs or fat during your cut your body will chew up your muscles for energy. you should at least keep some good healthy fats in there cause when you start to learn more youll realize fat helps the body burn more fat.
when a bodybuilder cuts they do not cut to lose "wieght" they want to lose [B]fat[B] as they do this their weight will decrease but in the meantime they have to do all they can to maintain their lean muscle.

hope this helped you out a bit.

Don't forget too man that a lot of those pros that look so ripped on stage and in those magazines is cuz' they do water manipulation, they fixate the lighting, and have really low body fat. Don't forget that if you're ripped, you can look even more shredded based on other factors too. Hence why bodybuilders use bronzers and tanners before stepping on stage.
