I try to eat alot mostly 5 times to 6 times a day to reach my maximum gain. I eat Eggs and have my shake in between, and ofcorse big food. Im pretty sure people who are trying to bulk up do the same thing. Well, while i was trying to buy my protein today, i met this guy who was feeling a little skeptical on buying a protein shake because it contains a high amount of cholesterol. i was laughin to his quote. but my question is, i pay my dues at the gym and i eat lots and lots of eggs and obviously my protein shake. how does cholesterol affect my health in the long run?

Bro ... i have 7 eggs a day and several protein shakes and let em tell you that cholesterol was the last thing on my mind! Keep working hard and pile in that protein! How about taking some yolks away from those eggs aswell?

Heart problems ... well may only be a problem if you have family history of such. Sure weightlifting puts a strain on the heart but you knew that right? If it worries you then throw in a little cardio while bulking just to get your heart going in a different way.
As for cholesterol try cutting down fat intake, in particular saturated fats. Certain foods help to lower cholesterol also like: garlic, soya, oats, corn and selenium-enriched cereals. (I have oats by the bucket load! Good carbs =)
Good luck bro, hope this helps.

we as male's want and NEED cholesterol, even high levels of it, what you dotn want is a skewed LDL to HDL profile.
remember the more cholesterol you have the more available steroids your body has to supply you with testosterone..something we all want as wt lifters.
if your that concerned about it, go see a doctor and have it checked out.

This thread opens up the old debate and discussion about dietary cholesterol and cholesterol levels in the body. Saturated fats and trans fats are what we really need to be worried about.

Finally, LOL.
Trans fats are definitely bad, but you shouldn't go crazy with saturated fats either.

Finally.
i removed the Saturated Fat due to the fact that it has been unjustly demonized for poor health, heart disease and high cholesterol for too long...
trans fat are the true enemy, not sat fat. trans fat have no known benifits and only degrade health..
sat fats have and do play many key roles in hormone and are needed to an extent for human function.

I think saturated fats have been demonized but within the context of the typical American diet. Sure, you need some saturated fats, but the typical individual gets far too much. Same could be said for things like omega 6s in relation to 3s and 9s... But I digress. It's about balance and moderation.

Bro. As long as you take your oatmeal and run every once in a while it really doesn't matter. Since all of that cholesterol's is going to be used up with the exercise (as well as by the oats >>) so don't sweat it.
