Well the company is headquartered in New Brunswick, NJ. So it makes sense that there's more ABC events and other appearances in the New Jersey/NYC/Philly area. It's not worth moving to Jersey lol trust me, a lot of people want to get out of here eventually because of politically-related reasons.

I'd be honored to workout with you any day of the week. Whats your split look like? I'd obviously change mine around to fit with yours. i know im getting ahead of myself since i haven't even made the trip up champs yet haha. but you seemed to be pretty confidant in the place which is good enough for me! plus i saw online that its only $15 a month! even i can manage that haha. Anyway it was great getting to meet you today and i look forward to seeing you again soon

Again, depends on my work shedule (both jobs) and time with family....If I have 5 days a week to train it usually is: chest/back/off/shlds/arms/off/legs
If I can only train 4 days a week it is:chest/bi-back-off-shlds/tri-off-legs-off.
I will look at my schedule early this week (including over time) and get in touch with you...deal?

oh btw i checked out champ's fitness today (got in a nice arm workout too) Awesome place! plenty of equipment and not crowded at all, a nice change of pace from the local y i normally go to. Can't wait to tear the place up with you!
Had a great time. it was great seeing everyone again and meeting new ones. Thanks Animal and Universal and thank you Joe Dodd for having us. The post grub was finger licking good.

I'm on vacation so I missed you guys, but I was there in the morning taking pictures with Joe of one of the bodybuilders there. Man this guy was fuckin shredded like you wouldn't believe.
I'm surprised you came tbh considering it's a drug haven and practically no one there pays for membership/even has checking accounts. Plus people have stolen dumbbells and TVs in the past out of there, not a friendly environment despite the cheapness of it haha.
But whatever.
Love that gym. Everyone there couldn't have been friendlier and more hospitable. We're lucky and honored to be able to do something positive in places where good things seem to rarely happen, and strange as it is, often such environments breed the best gyms.
Was a great ABC event on Saturday. Much respect to everyone that took the time to come out and take part.

Glad you like all. This is a unique gym with an owner that has and is still paying his dues. Fear not the clowns, as he had way more "items" like this in the past; hanging around when I trained there many years ago. What matters most is how many have forged serious physiques in that place! Talking shop with an owner like you can with Joe Dodd is far removed in today’s "gyms".

It's a really unique gym, if you are into strongman/powerlifting then this place is like Disneyland. There is equipment there you won't find at other gyms.

I may have to miss this one, damn. Skibas is a raw real deal gym. Im taking the GREs in the AM, and then NPC Muscle Beach, is my coaches show, got moved to that day, so there is a good possibility i am going to have to work it.

It all depends on your training program but I'm sure you won't have any problems with finding someone to train chest.

What's up guys, looking forward to the skibas abc. Just letting you guys know for those of you that have never been to our gym..
-there is no locker room, only a small bathroom
-we have mostly free weights, an incline bench, military press, 4 power racks, 2 monolifts, 2 deadlift platforms, 2 reverse hyperextensions, back attack, leg press, lat pull down, cable cross over, glute ham raise, leg extension, a number of abs pieces. We also have stones, farmers walk, yoke, tires, chains, a plyo swing and plyo boxes along with dumbbells up to 160lbs plus various other unique pieces.
-it is on the corner of a city street with only street parking so plan to park a couple of blocks away
- this is a true lifters gym, no bs, no fluff, just a lot of heavy iron.
If anybody has any requests as far as 'abc challenges' or anything in particular, we will be glad to accommodate.
Looking forward to it big time. Last year we had a huge turnout and we are looking forward to bigger and better things.
We are in the process of cleaning the place up so you can expect a true, hardcore atmosphere.

I had a blast at Man's World. A true down to earth hardcore gym. Killed back with Aggression and Hoomgar in prob the 100 degree heat in there. But that is what it is all about. Def cant wait for the next ABC. Thanx to NG and Juggs for all of the pics.

You won't find any fluffy machines at Skiba's, it's a serious powerlifting/strongman gym. Be prepared to flip tires and lift stones

hell yeah buddy! were going to be having some big squatting/pulling going on that day, me and one of our lifters Chris Dellafave are taking our last big attempts before our meets the 20th-21st in Ohio, looking forward to having the bodybuilding crowd coming in to throw around some plates

The gym is in fine shape G,
Im getting my stuff together to go there with the shop-vac right now and do some sprucing up. We've made upgrades to the floor in the back by the dumbbell section so you wont have that 'sinking' sensation when the gym is loaded up with big dudes. Looking really forward to it fellas.

I am sure from what I have heard about the "hardcore-ness" of Skiba's gym that the stones have gotten their share of work so they may be smoothed out by now, but I had the pleasure / misfortune of working with a set of "new-er" stones and I lost a lot of skin on my arms and chest. Looked cool though...

today was great, great workout with Wides and G Diesel.
it's good to train at a weight lifting club. the vibe from the guys at SKIBA's are awesome.
Skibas was a bad ass gym, saw some of our new young guns move some big weights and our own NG, Vinny, and myself get out butts whooped by some rope work. Some very knowledgeable folks workin down there. Great for the power lifter, athlete, and some hardcore training for us bodybuilders.

A big thanks to the U and all the athletes that made it out, what an awesome addition to our vibe. Its awesome to get some bodybuilders in the mix, we really all learn so much from eachother. Abc events help encourage brotherhood among the ranks. Awesome time and I got in some solid work today, can't wait till my contest and the next abc.
Wish I could've been there. i was looking forward to an ABC at Skiba's but the timing was wrong. I'll be making a personal trip there to train...

The first thought that came to my mind is the fact that I wouldn't be able to walk for days with the extreme control needed in your core (mine is weak, I know)... I'm sure something can be done on a smaller scale to reduce injury and provide the same conditioning (like weighted clubs, instead of the sledge...lol)

It's really, really good to try different things with training. We (bodybuilders) are constantly doing the same exercise, yeah a little variation in the reps/weight but doing these totally different types of training is a new stimulus.
I am very sore even two days later.

I figured you'd be feeling it, the ropes look brutal AND the sledge??? I'm sure you said a couple bad words after experiencing that for the first time...lol
I just got back from a girl's weekend where one of my friends started with the kettlebells and clubs. I was impressed with her 14 minute workout where she could hardly catch her breath and had a crazy pump...

There was a good and somewhat hardcore gym called empire fitness, but they closed down two years ago. Now, your best bet is supreme fitness on willow street. It's 24hours and was started by a bodybuilder named doug caporino in the 1980's. The gym is the most hardcore spot in hoboken, although club h has kettlebells and a deadlift platform.

No problem. It all comes down to what your buddy wants from a gym. There are many fitness centers in hoboken, but the only two that are hardcore are supreme and club h, and club h isn't even that hardcore, the just have really good equipment like a platform and kettlebells. Of course, he could always do what I do and hop on the path train to the city, I train at complete body on 19th and steel. Both gyms have many competitive bodybuilders and are pretty badass.

Traveling to the city just to train is such a hassle. Steel wouldnt be too bad of a trip from hobo but i hit up Golds on 54th and it takes me 50 min to get there from my place, gotta schedule out 4.5 hours just to get to gym, train, and get home.

Sounds like a good time to me. I can always use some pointers when it comes to squats and deads. However the bench press seems to be my weakest exercise when it comes to form and function.

I plan on hosting and ABC at my home gym as well, but this will not happen until maybe December sometime. Have a lot going on, especially with the Worlds coming up. So I'm going to hold off on putting an ABC on until my show is out the way and when I'm able to enjoy some heavy lifting and heavy eating, instead of having to worry about my next meal.
If you've never been, the Mill is one of the last standing hardcore gyms in Jersey that purely breeds champions. Many greats have come out of that gym, including 1st Arnold Champ, Rich Gaspari.

Most def. I've been going back there more and more recently as I prep for my show. The atmosphere is great for my training and they dont believe in AC, which is GREAT! Nothing but lots of heavy weights and motivational photos on the wall.

Hey bro, no its on 46 in Mine Hill, North Jersey. Its a pretty cool downstairs dungeon kinda gym. Lots of racks, heavy dumbells, and tons of plates.

Yes, Aggression has been pushing for an ABC there for some time now. We do train there as often as we can, even if its just a a few times every few months. The place is unreal.
If this goes down during winter break(Mid Dec-late Jan)/spring break(Early-mid March) I'd be happy to make the trip.

I've talked to the boys at JSF several times already and we've gotten the OK to have an ABC there. Its all about selecting a date that works for everyone. It will be done, my friend. I train there at least once a month. Ya can't beat that 10 session punch card for $60!

Long Island NYC, hell depending on the weekend I could bus it. Only prefer breaks because that's when I head to LBI and take care of the good ol' grandparents. Aha only 30-40mins from Tom's River too not bad at all.
Aggression- Damn $6 a session is nice for what it is. If I was local I'd at least visit for weekly chest workouts.

The nice part about the punch card is that it never expires. So you can have those 10 sessions good for life, essentially. Its great b/c whenever I feel an itch for JSF, I ride up there and use the card. Could be once a year, could be once a week. Whatever works.

We'll def set something up once we all get back from Vegas. Hopefully next week we can nail something down.

Hello Fellow Jersey Animals,
I would like to join The ABC of New Jersey. I have been an athlete all my life but, have been a novice bodybuilder for about close to one year now. My uncle was an amateur USA Junior Olympian in Power Lifting and he has been helping me become what I am now. I was a very good track athlete running 1:54 in the 800m, 4:22 in the mile, and 15:32 in a 5k. I weighed about 135 and now I am about 175-180. I hit 175 in about 9 months and I want to get to about 195 by summer.

no doubt, he was a big part of what made me today in bodybuilding....if that makes sense.
if you google his name, you'll see he had small bits in some major movies.
