is it possible to build muscle mass without supplementing?

Of course! Supplements are named for a reason. They should SUPPLEMENT your diet and exercise program. If you're eating enough and working out hard enough, you shouldn't need supplements at all.

That said, supplements do make it easier to get the necessary nutrients into your body to grow.

I'm actually going supplement-free right now (money is a little tight for the next few months), and I've had really good gains.

With a caloric surplus & hard training, there's no telling where you can go. Supp's are just icing on the cake.

Also, if you can stomach most of the food, a lot of these supplements can be found in food. Someone a while back posted something about the amount of creatine in food. I think 4 ounces of hearing had five grams of creatine in it or something. But a healthy diet is the best way to bulk. Supps come later.

I agree with what everyone has said here.

Right now personally im on my bulk and money is tight. all im taking is my pak, storm and optimum whey and powdered gatorade. the basics.

it wont cause you any problems, you can actually get a lot of protein and creatine from your diet if you eat accordingly, caloric intake goes up, good rest, heavy smart training, that will help you bulk!

Supplements are absolutely not necessary. That's a pretty clear message that Animal delivers though. Some help far more than others, but all of them are still "supplemental".

I agree, except that you can never be sure you get all the vitamins you need from your diet, so I think the pak is quite a necessity

eat like a horse, train like a moose, and get your sleep and you will grow. nothing can replace hard work and dedication.
