I'm down to 8.5-9% bf at 165-167. I feel small as opposed to my 185 weight but still feeling strong on my exercises so in summary, not too shabby.

Are you running 5/3/1?

A modified version, yes. I simply take the numbers for the 4 main lifts, then the rest of the workout is a BB routine. I simply do this to reach both goals. Strength and size.


Do you think BBB is the best to put on size or do you feel that I should go w/ a more BB style?

I know little to nothing about the BBB, and I just started the BB style 3 weeks ago. To be honest, it sounds like it'll work in my head. But who knows haha. That's why I am giving it a shot!

Thank you brother. Yes, i do have some weaknesses for sure. My arms have come up a lot from last year which is what I was focusing on. Upper chest as well as back need to be much thicker also. Better overall conditioning.

Yo my man! I am doing a hybrid 5/3/1 and bodybuilding program. Instead of assistance work, im doing a full BB routine. The begining is obviously the 5/3/1 lifts and %. But ya man def another PL meet first! How you doin?

I only use a pre-workout when I really need it. I was taking them every day for years, i have since detoxed and I feel much better!

I'm hangin' in. Been having some really bad lower back / spine problems, so I've been going to the chiropractor twice a week the past few weeks. They don't want me squatting or deadlifting during all this, which... really, really sucks.

Dont call you tree trunk legs for nothing. Strong squats C! How do you work your extensions and curls. Do you blast heavy to failure, or do you set them up for sets of certain reps? Or mix it up?

Thanks man. It changes each week. Im usually pretty beat up from squats, but generally its a pyramid 8-12 or so. Sometimes dropsets or supers.

Rugged Maniac. I certainly stepped outside of the box with this one. My GF loves these type of mud races, she has done 2 Tough Mudders. She was signed up with her Nutrishop Store, so i ended up just joining them. This particular one was a 5k with 25 obstacles. Not too bad, I actually enjoyed it. I would do it again, for sure. I was pretty beat up for a few days, but made it out on the other side!

I think Eastwood said it best when he said " A man's got to know his limitations". There comes a time where size has to take a back seat to proportion and symmetry. The heavy lifting has served him well thus far no argument there. Necessity is the mother of invention my friends. You need wider delts do more shoulders. You need a bigger chest by all means work the chest a little harder. You also have to recognize when to dial it back.

Every now and then we ALL need time off. I went on vacation with my GF this past week, and we both took the entire time off From everything. For 7 days we unplugged ALL technology, no emails, FB, Twitter, ect. No supplements, no gym, no rigorous eating. Simply drank frozen girly drinks and sat on the beach, 2-3 meals a day. I couldn't be more refreshed and ready to get back on track.

Some of you know, some of you dont. March 22, 2011 I had reconstructive knee surgery for a torn ACL/Mensicus. I was mid contest prep and was determined to get on stage. I made it, however the size of my right quad was severely smaller, placing 4th at Team U as compared to the year prior where I placed 2nd. I knew I needed the time off and decided to sideline myself the rest of 2011 and all of 2012 to build my quad back as well as a solid base to step into the LHW class.

My date is circled in Red. I look at it every day. April 6th, 2013. NPC Mets in NY. The plan is to hit that, re-qualify and step onto the JR USA stage in May. After 4 years, 13 shows, 2 National Shows, its time to step it up. December 15th is 16 weeks out. I currently have 12 weeks left of offseason until that day comes.

I have never been more motivated to get back on stage.

This will be my comeback.

The past three weeks have been a blur. Vacation, week before Mr O, and then the Road Trip to the O. I had a blast during all of it, but now its time to get down to business. I should have started "My Comeback" thread now, but I got a little ahead of myself and the thought of getting back on stage, where I belong, took a hold of me. I know people say no missed meals, no missed training, ect. But sometimes, you don't have a choice when work comes first. My main priority through the road trip was filming, and making sure you guys got tons of content to feel like you were there. Some of my training, and eating suffered, but thats just the way it is. Im back on track and feeling good.

I always go to the O or the Arnold, feeling pretty good. Im happy with my size, and how far I've come. When I stand amongst freaks like Wrath, B Rowe, and Antoine, I know I still have a LONG way to go. Every year I know I make progress, but seeing them gives me that extra push to keep going, and keep chasing down that dream. Back on track and ready to rock.

Nick and I have been training together for over a year now. Its good to say we are both on a good track. Nick is three weeks out and I have never seen him look so good. His thickness is unreal at 150lbs. The kid is a little house. He will do MUCH damage in the next few years of competing.

9 weeks of offseason left.

2 - 7oz Chicken/Beef, 6oz Rice, Veg, 2T PB
3 - 5 Scoops Real Gains in 16oz Whole Organic Milk
4 - 7oz Chicken/Beef, 6oz Rice, Veg, 2T PB
5 - Pre workout - 50g Carbs
6 - Post - 100g Carbs, 50g Protein
7 - 6 whole eggs, cup of oats
8 - 2 Scoops Casein.

Thanks fellas. Ill start to count once im in contest prep, but in the offseason i try not to be so methodical. It gives me a break from the monotony.

Protein stays pretty consistant all year, the carbs and fats are what change. If im losing weight ill add more, if im gaining too much weight, ill lower it.
