My girlfriend and I have finally decided it's time to make the big move out on our own (yeah, I know I'm 26 and was still living with my mom). Anyway, as with most new couples on our own, money is going to be tight for the next few months. So I'm looking to see how the other animals that have come across this situation have handled it as far as affording food/supplements etc. I have a membership to costco, so I will be using that, and I guess I'll be eating lots of eggs... just seeing what suggestions there are for eating big, and it not costing a ton. Thanks animals

G Diesel has an article called 'big on a budget'... the whole point is, most of us aren't lottery winners... myself I often wonder if I will have the money next week for my food... the pak and maybe some protein powder are the only supplements you need... stick to the basics, focus on food...eggs, red meat, milk, whatever you afford, just be sure to get in enough protein and some good complex carbs... good luck

You can search for budget foods on here, there are tons of threads.
Other than that, there are things you can pay attention to that will give you more cash for food & supps. I say this all from experience!
1) "The Cable T.V. Trap"-you don't need cable. If you do have basic cable, you will grow tired of it and want to order this extra package for ONLY AN ADDITIONAL X DOLLARS A MONTH! This will rack up quick, quicker than you think.
2) "The Infamous Credit Card"-credit cards are great! They are free money! FREE MONEY...right? Dead wrong. You will spend far more than you plan for, and will make the minimum payment every time, therefore paying only interest. They will steal so much of your money it's ridiculous. Spend money that you HAVE.
3) "Lights Out"- Every time I turn out a light switch that doesn't really need to be on, I think of it as a free protein shake.
4) "Easy Food"- It's easy to eat out when you don't feel like cooking. It's also 5x more expensive and 5x "dirty cals".
5) "The Heater"- You are living with a girl so this is going to suck. Try if you can, to avoid the heater. Just wear a hoodie it costs nothing! I fight with my girl about this every winter.
Hope that helps.

How cold can it possibly get in Kansas? By Kansas you mean texas right? LOL. Try living through a Canadian winter with no heat.

Invest in a chest freezer, buy in bulk from costco (possibly the chest freezer aswell) and get storing. Also a big fridge is a good idea for all those eggs. Being a girl, she'll prob want to start laying out dosh on decor. If she brings that up then just ask her, "do you want to watch paint dry, or do you wanna snuggle up with a more muscular me every night, every month, every year?"
