It was a great finisher. I was thinking DB Lunges to failure across the floor, but then I looked over at the staircase and thought I would mix it up a bit.

Well, Doggcrapp Training has been great. I can't say enough about it. If I gained 10+ lbs. this cycle, it could not possibly be argued that it is not a good training method for me. However, I've been reflecting lately on whether it is the right time for DC. I say this because the founder, Dante Trudel, emphasizes that DC is a method for those who are veterans in the game, and are getting diminishing returns from standard splits. I cannot say I am a veteran, I have trained for many years, but have only trained PROPERLY for 2 years. Also, I was gaining just fine on a standard split.

The REAL deciding factor is my love for the gym. My priorities lie #1) The EXPERIENCE, the pain, the struggle, the time in the gym is so valuable to me. I enjoy volume, I enjoy the punishment. #2) Growth- yes this is a blasphemy of sorts. Should it not be my first priority to grow? However, will these two priorities coincide? I say Yes.

In the end, I would rather get maximum enjoyment from the experience of working out, then use a low volume split. Will I utilize DC in the future? Absolutely. But for now, it's back to basics.

so GK is callin it quits on DC. You may be right bro, if your body ain't ready, don't push it. However I suggest incorporating some of the priciples into your future split. I worked a split in the past that was like this: mon/incline bench, bb military, skull crusher, abs, calves. tues/squat, bb row, pullup, bb curl, wrist curl. wed/off, thurs/flat db bench, db shoulder press, dips, abs, calves, fri/deadlift, db row, rev pullup, db curl.
The principle remains the same, higher frequency, lower volume per muscle group, just without all the rest/pausing and such. At bare minimum, those stretches have got to stay those things kick asss.

It has to be right for you. Roland and others kick ass on DC, me it just wasn't right. Like you maybe I will do it later but not now. Good call GK.

Oh the stretches are here to stay, no doubt. The calves too, I will probably use DC method every other workout.

You can't call it quits on DC after 6 weeks. This is one of the most frustrating things that Dante talks about. Guys saying they will try it for 6-8 weeks and then if they like it keep on it. Well NO ONE likes it in that short amount of time. IT takes 6 months to a year to become addicted to it. You just have to get past the "more volume is better approach"

ESPECIALLY with the gains of size and strength you have made in just 6 weeks. Thats incouraging to everyone.

Oh well, atleast you gave it your all and did your best with it. I look forward to keep reading your journey. One of the things you can take with you without doing DC is still beating the log book. Thats good for everyone.

Keep it up bro, you are doing good!!!

I thought a lot last night about my training issue.

WTM, you got me second guessing myself now. Shit, we're all human, we err. I was making great gains on DC and learning as you said, the "more is not necessarily better" approach. I think DC was RIGHT for me. Obviously.

I feel like I'm giving up on it, even though I had it pretty well thought out as to why...

Any thoughts and suggestions from subscribers, esp. DC trainers would be appreciated. Please give me some HONEST UNFILTERED opinions.

GK, why not do mini cycles, DC for 6 weeks, a different split for 6 weeks etc and see what gives you the best reesults? Might keep training fresh and exciting.

stimulate not annihlate, personally i find it better to train power days, then hypertrophy (pump) days, while increasing ur weight on your power days, it will allow you to increase the amount of weight you use on your hypertrophy days which will yield greater gains, and a never ending increase in power; which gives you the basic equation as you kno "with power comes size." Esp with your high calorie intake..

Also, I kno its your diet, but i'd like to give some advice with it, i'd drop your protein to 250g and increase total carbs to roughly 350-400.

Excess Protein in the body turns into waste and basically will just empty, where as carbs will be used as extra source as energy and yes you may store a tad bit more fat, however your DOMS will not be as strong or demished as well esp after a heavy leg day. Just my 2cents. hope it helps

I also find it better that the body responds well to GVT (German volume training) when the calories are around, High Volume, High weight, high calories?? coincidence?? I think not... However the body's ability to release extreme amount of cortisone levels while under such a high stress level is apparent, yet; the high amount of calories introduced to your diet will help eliminate that as well as a ALA type supplement with amounts of Vit-C to help eliminate free radicals.

You live life Once, you Train throughout your life thousands of different wants. CHANGE IS O.K. don’t be stressed to try something new, and trust me the first week, "its not working, i'm going to go back to my old split is going to be running through your head" Shit your dieting, its going to be playing a huge factor into how you feel, and think HOW YOU LOOK. your body plays these games with you and if you can adapt to them, and not give in you'll reap the benefits.

Best of luck with your guide/log/training and Diet, and if you need any help what so ever don’t hesitate to ask or PM me..

Also, I’d like to talk to you about diet, maybe we can construct a timing method specialized around workout time with amino acid supplementation to spike your amino levels and insulin.

Well, to say the least, Test & Stak has been great. It's been a wild ride through DC and eating like a monster. I gained a staggering 12.6 lbs in 6 weeks, missing my goal of 15 slightly. I am certain if I hadn't become ill in the middle of the cycle I would have hit that easily. I also made significant improvements to my chest and legs, both of which were lagging parts long overdue for some development. I made some great increases in my shoulder size, that were visible & commented on by many people I both knew and didn't know. Throughout the cycle I maintained a shockingly low level of bodyfat increase for the amount of weight I gained. I was hard and dry throughout the cycle, and fully energized in the gym, killing all my previous numbers.

End Ratings: Weight Gain 8/10, Strength Gain 9/10, Bodyfat Maintenance 10/10

BTW I did get my labs drawn today, but they are send-out tests so I'm thinking I'll have a copy in my hand by Friday...?

I had to fast until 4 pm to get them done (because of the Lipid Profile), it sucked.

Well, my doctors nurse just called to follow up on my labs, and told me my testosterone level was much higher than the normal range, but that everything else was in normal ranges. That's all I know right now. There's a copy waiting for me to pick up on Friday. Then we will know more!

Hey bro, I basically missed your entire log. Mostly because I am new and you were well under way before I got here. What post (of yours) in this log/thread would you say best sums up your overall results and feelings about the stack you used in this log. I want to read it without having to read all 14 pages to find it :)

I know you know where it is ;)
