There are some things you need to know before you subscribe here:

1) Hi, my name's Paul. I am the baddest motherfucker you will ever meet. I am also a nice guy.

2) This is my path. I will choose it and I will travel it. What I do may not be for everyone, it may defy traditional ideas about bodybuilding, but it is my path.

3) I will be logging my meals for the day every night. I will be logging my workouts for the day every night. On days when I don't train my workout will be shoveling food into my body. Every Monday I will record my bodyweight first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, with no clothing weight.

4) I'm not going to be eating like Joe Underwear Model. I'm going to be eating like the most hell-bent for mass bodybuilder you've ever seen. Save your comments about getting fat for Jack the Curl Monkey over at "insert name here" Forums that gains 2 lbs of muscle mass a year trying to stay lean.

5) I train DC. It may not be your thing, but it's mine. Progressive-Resistance-Training, destroying your previous weights in order to become stronger and bigger than you were before...remember...bodybuilding? I will type up my complete training regimen soon, with each specific excersize and rotation I will be utilizing.

6) I will be stacking Animal Test & Animal Stak. In addition to this will be the supplements that I use as staples. I will list these in my complete diet, supp, and training detail to come soon.

7) I will be gaining 10 lbs. or more during this 6 week log.

Watch this.

10 pounds may be a little undershot. I'd say go for at least 15. With this food and these supps you have to raise the bar for your goals.

15 pounds is realistic with the training and nutrition plan you have in place.

Training is DC. DC is based on low volume, maximum intensity, with a single rest-pause working set per bodypart, sometimes followed by a 20 rep widowmaker. Every week you have to beat the logbook, that is, more reps with the same weight, or more weight with the same reps. It is a MWF split, and each bodypart is worked twice in 8 days. I use more machines because I train alone, and a DC set is a set to complete failure. All excersizes are a super-slow & controlled negative, with an explosive positive. Here is the excersizes and their respective category, I'll explain this at the end.

WORKOUT 1
Chest: A) Incline Barbell (Smith) B) Flat Barbell (Smith) C) Flat DB Press
Shoulders: A) Front Military Press (Smith) B) Behind-the-Head Press (Smith) C) Cybex Machine Press
Triceps: A) Skullcrushers B) Close Grip Benchpress C) Weighted Dips
Back Width: A) Wide Grip Pullups B) Wide Grip Pulldowns C) Close Grip Pulldowns
Back Thickness: A) T-Bar Rows B) Rack Deadlifts C) Deadlifts

WORKOUT 2
Biceps: A) Straight Bar Preacher Curl B) Barbell Curl C) Alternating DB Curl
Forearms: A) Reverse Grip Preacher Curl B) Hammer Curl C) Forearm Curl
Calves: A) Seated Calf Raise B) Step Smith Calf Raise C) Calf Press
Calves are done with a 5 sec. negative, and a 15 second pause-hold at full stretch at the bottom of the motion
Hams: A) Stiff Leg Deadlift B) Leg Curl C) Sumo Leg Press
Quads: A) Squat B) Front Squat C) Leg Press
Quads are always followed by a 20 rep Widowmaker

It's not really as complicated as it looks. The excersizes are in a rotation. It goes 1A, 2A, 1B, 2B, 1C, 2C, repeat...on MWF. So "Monday & Friday" are the same bodyparts as "Wednesday & next Monday". As I said, each workout is performed with one working set per bodypart. So, for example, tomorrow is my 2B Day. So the workout will consist of Barbell Curls, Hammer Curls, Step Smith Calf Raises, Leg Curl, and Front Squats--get it? After you see them logged for awhile, you will understand.

Very cool, let the fun begin. I do have one question. You are taking Test prior to Stak in your supplement order. I thought the recommendation was Stak one hour prior and then Test 30 minutes prior. Or do I have them mixed up?

No, you got it right. I do it this way because I also use Shock Therapy. Since Test has Yohimbe in it, I don't want the Yohimbe and Shock to hit my stomach at the same time, #1) maybe causing some distress, and #2) so my "energy boost" can be a little steadier instead of hitting me all at once.

Good question.

6 min. warmup on the bike
Barbell Curl (warmup barx20, 65x10) 115 x 6/4/2 = 12 rest pause reps
(1 min. extreme stretch)
Hammer Curl 50's x 7/6/5 = 18 rest pause reps
(1 min. extreme stretch)
Step Smith DC Calf Raise (warmup BWx20, 135x10) 315 x 8 DC calf reps
Seated Leg Curl (warmup 50x20, 110x10) 150 x 8/5/4 = 17 rest pause reps
(1 min. extreme stretch)
Front Squat (warmup barx15, 135x6) 225 x 10 straight set, 185 x 20 rep Widowmaker
(1 min. extreme stretch)

Comments: Felt strong as hell today, sometimes the rep would stop mid-range and I would just hold it there for a second and slowly battle to the top with perfect form, and then sometimes get a another rep. I also felt like I was getting more air in my lungs on my rest-pause breaths, it felt like my chest was expanding more and letting a lot more air in. My quads were massively pumped and rock hard after the warmup on the bike!

Subbed.

Your diet and workouts are another source of inspiration for this new 'bodybuilder'.

I was surprised to find the cardio here. I have not included it while on the TEST. In fact I've found that this new stack has been burning the fat faster than usual without the addition of cardio.

Be Well Brother. I'll be watching too.

Thanks to everybody who is subscribing. It is a big motivating force to see that people are keeping an eye on my progress here. Even if I don't respond to each one of you, it's a big deal that you're commenting!

As to the cardio MYKL, I've added it for 2 reasons.
One is, as you said, the Animal Test SEEMS to burn fat and add muscle simultaneously, which I did see happen in my Alpha Testing. Now if you added cardio, which I wasn't doing during Alpha Testing, could you then even burn MORE fat while gaining muscle...? See what I'm saying?

Another is, it stimulates my appetite. Nothing like cardio to make you hungry like a wolf all day long. I've always condemned cardio on a bulk, but I'm really kind of liking it. If my gains are stalling I will cut it out in a heartbeat.

Shit bro...good job today. Good to know that Im not the only one doing the gay ass cardio on DC LOL. Funny, we really did almost the same thing today. Btw. I think I'm gonna throw in the flat smith press you did a couple days ago for my chest exercise tomorrow. I've been doing the dumbells for such a long time now, I gotta switch it up plus I'll be able to push more weight on the smith. How does that feel on your shoulders?

You know what, it feels great. I can kind of slide my body up and down to adjust in between reps, and you can find this great band of power that BLASTS the pecs. You have to be looking straight up at the cieling too, you can't try to look forward at the bar, straight up at a point on the cieling.

It's funny how Dante says "Oh, flat bar this & flat bar that", and then you see Kuclo & Harris just blasting away on the flat bar. Hmmmmmm....

Roland
10-23-07, 11:55 pm
Well, he's right about the flat bench, it is really risky...even Jason wojo had a pec tear because of it. But that's just flat bench....it has to be different on the smith cuz you can control it more. I will try it and see how it feels. I've just been doing dumbell press ever since I started, lately I been kinda stalling on it cuz I just don't feel like doing it anymore haha. We'll see.

405 deadlift, hallowed be my strength;
My time has come, your time is done,
in the gym, as it is in the power rack.

Give me this day, my daily pain;
and build up my muscle, as I tear muscle down.

And lead me not into weakness,
but deliver power to sinew & bone.

For today is the day, the hour, the time, that you will be lifted.

Amen.

Rotator Cuff Warmups
Flat DB Bench (warmup 30'sx15, 50'sx10) 80's x 9/5/3 = 17 rest pause reps
Cybex Shoulder Press (warmup 20x12) 70 x 6/4/4 = 14 rest pause reps
Skullcrushers (light pushdown warmup) 115 x 7/4/3 = 14 rest pause reps
Close Grip Pulldown (warmup 50x10, 150x10) 200 x 6/4/2 = 12 rest pause reps
Deadlifts (warmup hyperextensions, 225x5) 405 x 0 (missed), 405 x 0 (missed), 315 x 5

Comments: Learn from your mistakes. I put 405 on a pedestal. I psyched myself out. I was thinking about it all day yesterday, when I went to bed, when I woke up in the middle of the night, all day today. I made the weight heavier in my mind. I just totally psyched myself out of pulling it.

And then I realized after I missed it. Twice. Why am I doing this? I should be working on increasing my weights in the hypertrophy range. If I wouldn't have missed it twice and taxed myself so hard, I probably could have pulled that 315 for 10. Maybe more even. Stop lifting ego weights, GK, focus on hypertrophy, focus on your goals.

Before that, the workout was kickass. I was pushing the weight for reps that I didn't think I would get out. Where my mind would normally break, I was focusing with a angry intensity and pushing through the wall. Overall, before my ego got the best of me, a great workout. Live & learn.

MYKL
10-24-07, 5:13 pm
Don't beat yourself up over the missed wieght either. I don't see in your log a habitual trail of trying to throw up 'EGO' weight. You obviously know how to get where you want to be and throwing yourself a curve once in a while is good, humbling sure, but good.

The wierd thing about this post is that I realized that I have been trying to put up crazy weight too so that I can post big numbers with the rest of you. I firmly believe that I will continue to throw myself into heavy days once in a while to test where I stand. Who knows? It may be that that rediculous wieght will move one of these times and I/you figure out that there was an underestimation on your/our part...

You kick ass sir... You didn't let the 405 pin you down, you threw the 315 up and made it your own after a self admitted bitch of a routine.

Respect...

Comments: Cable crunches Tuesday were very hard with 175. Today with 185 was like butta' baby. That's the good ol' Test I remember from Alpha Testing starting to kick in. It only gets better from here.

Somewhat O/T, when I was walking out I noticed a "gym friend" of mine had a NO product sticking out of his bag today. I asked him if he's ever tried Shock Therapy, because it kicks ass blah blah blah (listing my reasons for liking it) I told him tomorrow I would bring in 5 days worth of my ST for him to try and see if he likes it. I asked him for a review about this stuff, and he was like, "It sucks man, I'm not even through the container yet and it doesn't work anymore. Here." (gives it to me-this is EXPENSIVE stuff by the way) "I'll look forward to trying that Shock Therapy, it sounds really good the way you talk about it." LOL

Well done bro. I also messed with the incline stuff today and let me tell you, it went by alot faster, not that boring this way.

10-25-07, 8:17 pm
Hell yeah I'm always ready for Widowmakers. It's funny I get so excited about subjecting my body to the sickest shit possible, haha.

On another note, I got my dip belt in the mail today, hell yeah. I'm ready to bust out some weighted dips and pullups. Too bad they have to wait until next week.

Also tracked my Beta Alanine package and that will be delivered in the morning so I will be starting that tomorrow, 3g pre-workout and 3 g post-workout, that's the plan. I'm looking forward to getting loaded on that stuff. Supposed to kick in after about 3 weeks, then BOOM, I'll be getting mad extra reps where I wouldn't before. So important with DC training. I'm looking forward to grinding out some killer extra reps where I would normally fail.

Looks like a solid DC workout. I'm following the same thing right now, I'm using different excersises. Too bad about that missed 405, it will come. Work your heavy set, and your really heavy set, add weight slowly and it will come. You know there ain't nothing better for adding strength than DC.

Actually I've looked up a lot of studies on PubMed about this because I think soy milk is a valuable nutritional tool. I cannot find any studies that link it to significant estrogen increases, except for when they were consuming HUGE amounts of it, we're talking HUGE amounts, that no one would really go out of their way to consume.

I just think soy is such a great nutrient for bodybuilders that is overlooked because of paranoia about estrogen. I'd rather have the nutritional support and not be so worried about it. I really only consume a small amount daily anyway.

Oh, it's all coming back to me now...I want to buy Corporate a dozen roses and take them out for a nice steak dinner. And I will totally call them back. LMAO

Alternating DB Curls (warmup Chins 3 sets x 3 sloooow reps & stretching) 50's x 6/4/4 = 14 rest pause reps
(1 min. extreme stretch)
Forearm Curl 85 x 15/5/4 = 24 rest pause reps
(1 min. extreme stretch)
At this point I realized I forgot my usual leg warmup on the bike. I didn't want to switch gears and be riding the bike all the sudden, so I just loaded 4 plates on the leg press and did about 10 different foot positions with some good slow stretch reps.
DC Calf Press 6 plates x 12 DC calf reps
Sumo Leg Press (widest & highest possible stance) 10 plates x 15 straight reps
(1 min. extreme stretch)
Leg Press 12 plates x 13 straight reps, 10 plates x 21 rep Widowmaker (got an extra rep in)
(1 min. extreme stretch)

Comments: Ok, so as I said it's all coming back to me now. That freaky break-through-the-wall, make-people-look-at-you-funny, would-fail-but-have-more-dues-to-pay STRENGTH. Every single time I would "fail" on a set, I centered myself, dug deep, and busted out 3-5 more reps! I'm not talking one rep, I'm talking some freaky blast kind of strength and endurance. This is especially key in DC training, where you have to beat the logbook by reps or weight. The bigger the jumps, the bigger your size increase. I have a feeling I'm going to be making some good jumps here in these remaining 5 weeks.

(*Possible T.M.I. warning) Also, well, lets not talk about this one too much but I want to record my honest feedback. I don't want to draw attention to this comment, I just want to be honest like I said. How do I say this...my girlfriend insists, in fact, won't shut up about it, that my "muscle down there" was huge when we had some quality time last evening. Insists, VERY MUCH size increase, whether temporary or whatever. She's been VERY nice to me today. ; )

Just read your whole log here GK. The first thing that strikes me is how much your strength has increased. The second is that you are not afraid to admit that a weight was too heavy or too light, that an exercise was not right, etc. The third thing is that you are open to learn and try new things, exercises, machines, nutrition plans etc.

And finally, that you are a down to earth cat that like the rest of us just wants to be bigger, stronger, leaner, more shredded than any other person on the planet. I respect you for all that and the fact that you are never afraid to help someone out or kick em in the ass when thay need it.

Keep doing what you are doing and we will keep following along.

Respect!

Monday Bodyweight Update
Bodyweight is currently 190 lbs. Last Monday was 185 lbs. This is weighed upon waking, after voiding bladder, without clothing weight.

This is 5 lbs of fat free mass. I look even more vascular and defined than 185, especially in the abdominal and shoulder areas. I look, generally, bigger & harder than I ever have. It looks real good on me.

Just one step in the Journey, 10 more pounds to my goal, who knows how many more pounds to my destiny.

The RP for forearms is not a big deal in my opinion as long as you don't go changing the whole program around...then it would not be DC. The reason I progressed so much is because I basically followed the training to the T, nutrition and training wise...So yea...the program has a purpose, it's been designed with careful testing and experience throughout the years and that's why it works. I personally feel that the straight set on forearms is just much brutal then an RP, because you have to get a straight set of somewhere 10-15 witha heavy ass weight. Dante knows what he's doing, but like I said..if you just do something small like that it shouldnt be a problem if it feels better for you...as long as you don't go and change the whole program like other people do. Stick with it 100% and I guarantee you it will work.

I have some bad news guys. I have fallen on some truly hard financial times at my home and will not be able to continue my stack for the full 6 weeks. I had enough to afford the first cans and I was going to purchase the second cans this weekend, but you know what they say about "the best laid plans of mice & men".

I am truly sorry to all of you that may have been looking forward to the full 6 weeks. In the future when times at my house are not so rough, I will buy the whole cycle in advance and run this again, this has been a truly great stack and I think the full 6 weeks would be invaluable for harnessing the full effects of the Arachidonic.

Needless to say I will be pounding food and taking advantage of what I've got for this last week. I am truly apologetic that I did not live up to the expectations I set for myself and that you guys were counting on learning from.

Stay strong fellas.

A friend, let's say, "an anonymous benefactor" has offered to donate the resources to complete my 6 week log. This is not a company representative, so there will be no bias involved.

I was very reluctant to accept this offer because of pride. I have always been taught not to accept handouts. However, after some discussion and contemplation, I have decided to accept. I am reminded of this quote from Pulp Fiction.

"you may feel a slight sting. That's pride fucking with you. Fuck pride. Pride only hurts, it never helps" -Marcellus Wallace to Butch the boxer

Needless to say, I will be continuing this log. Stay along for the ride boys, it only gets better from here.

Yup, I was reading some of Dante's stuff about how you can do your widowmakers on the leg press if you want. Last time I did those front squats, it was pretty hard to breathe for 20 reps with that thing on my neck. I got a KILLER Widowmaker in with the leg press that I don't think I would have got if I tried for the front squat. I think I will continue to do standard squats with a squat Widow., but for front's it will be leg press.

I don't test bodyfat, but just look in the mirror. That being said, at this higher weight, I still have my vascularity, my abs are MORE visible than before (!), and I feel rock hard. I almost feel strange, as if I should have some noticeable fat...if I don't have any by the time I hit 200...well, that will be the shit!

Are you doing the same stretch twice, or do you have a different one for forearms?

Two different stretches-try to picture it here:
Biceps-Standing arms length from wall corner or power rack beam, putting arm out at 90 deg. angle, closed fist against wall-thumb/firstfinger against wall, then I step/lean forward until I can feel the most painful stretch possible, and count slowly to 60.
Forearms-Like a seated forearm/wrist curl w/forearms flat on legs, load up an amount of weight I would usually rep out 10 with, let the weight roll down to the bottom of the motion almost on your fingertips and hold it there in the range where you feel the most forearm stretch-this is hard! I usually have to do 2 "sets" of 30 sec. stretches b/c I drop it.

Remember with any stretch-if you don't feel like crying at 40 seconds, you're doin' something wrong! LOL

Definitely looking to increase my growth during sleep. And leucine is something I've been looking at a lot as being the trigger for the mTOR pathway, protein synthesis. I'm just going to throw some extra leucine in my post workout shakes and see what happens.

Thats a good idea there, GK. Hey where did you get your leucine from? Lemme know how it works, I was thinkin I might start whippin up my own PWO shake, if I could find some bulk leucine, mix up some whey with leucine, waxy maise and creatine.

I had a day at clinical this week where I was combing PubMed. I was reading studies for literally 10 hours. I just kept looking for studies on mTOR and increasing protein synthesis. EVERYTHING pointed to Leucine. There was TONS & TONS of studies, Leucine is "THE" accepted protein synthesis trigger of the scientific community. I'm surprised we don't hear more about it. They had a lot to say about BCAA's in general, but even more about Leucine. So, I was like "bulk Leucine, here I come".

Thanks for stopping by violator, yeah check out that Leucine, good stuff I think brother. After reading all that clinical stuff, I've been reading more anecdotal stuff from the boards and everyone seems to mention a marked increase in recovery. So it must be doing what they say it does (increase protein synthesis).

Yo my fellow brothers in Iron, go for it Paul, keep us posted and remember it's not how many times you get knocked down that counts its how many times you get back up, look your fears straight in the eye and say, "bring it on, soon as I get used to it, I will absorb it, make it my own, and then turn it back on you and eventually put your ass in a sling and send ya off to ICU!! And after all that simply ask, ....so what's next?!!!

Watch this.

oh yeah. i'm doing some calculations this week for calories, but even with just the Stak my plan was eat, eat, eat, and if in doubt, eat. haha. 3-4 regular meals and 3-4 shakes per day.
my roommate and i went to costco yesterday and were laughing about the amount of protein in our cart... lots of beef, tuna, chicken, 15 dozen eggs, etc. i think i've been lacking in good carbs, so i've stocked up on some of that too (whole grain stuff, bread, pasta, lots of oatmeal, etc)

my roommate and i went to costco yesterday and were laughing about the amount of protein in our cart... lots of beef, tuna, chicken, 15 dozen eggs, etc. i think i've been lacking in good carbs, so i've stocked up on some of that too (whole grain stuff, bread, pasta, lots of oatmeal, etc)

Sounds like you got it right.

Shit, looking good there, GK! I hope I'll look half as badass whenever I get the courage to take a pic of myself :)

Cheers,
LB

We're all somewhere on a greater journey brother.

I think it is pretty damn lean gain.

I'm very reassured by them. Stack is giving me some great strength increases. Progressive Strength + Calories = Size.

Calves are good, sitting at 16" cold right now, same as arms. However quickly they grow, I would like to keep my arms & calves at the same measurement for symmetry reasons.

So far 8.8 lbs the first 3 weeks. From the measurements, looks like a lot of it went to front to back thickness.

Hey guys thanks for all the kind words. Something strange happened immediately post-workout. I'm currently under some sweats and a blanket chugging water and trying to hack it. I got a fever of 101.2 degress F and can't really get up or eat anything. I've pounded 2 Real Gains shakes after my post-workout meal to try and stay anabolic, but I know fever is a very catabolic thing. I'll just be trying to hold down whatever I can and hang on to my gains.

The weekend off should do me well, I already called in to work. I'll be back on top in no time brothers Stay Strong.

Thanks everybody for stopping in, I'm really busting my ass on my path to 200 here. My CNS is pretty much stretched to the limit with the blast+work/school+holidays, you all know how it goes. I have Wed, Thurs, Fri as vacation though, so that will be nice to get in some good eating, training, & most of all sleeping.

I will start the DC "cruise" next week, the last week of the cycle before M-stak. I will probably go about 10 days before blasting again. The workout plan is my old powerbuilding split, warmup, max set, hypertrophy/pump sets back down. At the risk of sounding like a complete tool, I haven't trained for a pump in a long time & I'm looking forward to feeling that again.

Mentally jacked today. I don't know what it was but it was like every muscle fiber in me was writhing to escape from my skin & explode. I had to keep stretching & flexing to kill the urge. Good thing it was Deadlifts today, my body got the pounding it really needed.

Flat DB Press 90's x 8/5/0 (immediate 60's x 10)
I got the 90's into position finally. Yes! On my 3rd RP set though, I was too taxed to get 'em up, so I grabbed some 60's and went at it for my last reps.

Cybex Shoulder Press 70 x 12/8/4
ALL DAY, AIN'T NO GRAVITY IN HERE.

DB Overhead Press 80 x 11/5/4
Swapped these for Skulls this week since they beat up my elbows a little last time.

Close Grip Pulldown 210 x 8/4/3

Forearm Curls 95 x 15 straight set

With DC, you "blast" for "x number of weeks" (usually around 8), beating all of your previous numbers in every workout. Eventually there may be diminishing returns in weights or mass gain. When that happens, you "cruise&
