View Full Version : Shake in the middle of the night and morning?

ok i know a lot of bodybuilders wake up in the middle of the night to drink a shake and a lot of bodybuilders also drink a shake first thing in the morning while making breakfast to break their fast, but is it necessary to drink a shake first thing in the morning if you wake up in the middle of the night to drink one or is it just a waste of money? i tried searching and ifound a lot of people drink shakes in the middle of the night/morning but i couldnt find if they do either or, or both.

the middle of the night shoudl be at least 4 horus from the morning...so id say drink one at both timnes if you have the determination to wake up in the middle of a good sleep

but i think waking up in teh middle of the night is stupid, becasue your body has different stages of sleep and your cutting off the best stage by wakign up every few hours, therefore youre losing growth jsut to take in more cals/protein attempting to grow more....so its losign one way to gain another, nto worth it IMO

theres no way i would have a shake during the night. i need my zzs. but if youre able to do it, god bless ya-go for it-i def feel the extra calories are always beneficial!

Middle of the night-shakes are one of the stupidest things ever. Sleep is when your body is growing and repairing. Why would you want to interrupt this process by not only waking up, but also giving the body something to digest? You should be getting all the protein you need during the day.

Hey make a shake up and place in the frige if you wake to pee then go get it before turning back in if not take in the morn when its time to wake. And in my outlook its never a waste to take in protein.

How about we actually think for a second, shall we? Anyone around here heard of a protein called Casein? Oh yeah, that stuff is also SLOW DIGESTING which means if you drink that before bed, you're set till morning.

This is how I rolled.

Grab a blender ( unless you think you're the "shit" and can whip this together w/ a spoon [good luck w/ the ice ] which probably is going to kick your ass )
Add 3 globs of no-fat yogurt (PLAIN) [Casein]
Fat Free Milk ...glug it till it looks like enough to drink? [Casein]
PEANUT BUTTER ( to get essential fats, and the good ones at that. ) ya know....like 3-4 tbsp
CASEIN POWDER ( or realgains...but that makes this drink fuckin outrageous w/ cals-carbs-protein. )
3 large scoups of casein protein powder at about 24G per scoup..
4 ice cubes? ask rcrott1 he's the master at pre-bed shakes. :)


And you're set before bed, so fuck waking up, and take full advantage of your growth period WHILE HAVING THE NURTIENTS TO DO SO!!!

Be smart, lift heavy ANIMAL!

i dont care what anyone says. that is gonna make you grow.
nothing wrong with having something quick if you wake up to pee. but if you actually set your alarm to eat, then something is wrong in my opinion.

For sure dawg, for sure. Put 40lbs on me from may 12 to sep 21st. :)

This is how most do it, and how many of us ever make it through the night without having to pee? One thing though...make it a little thinner than you usually do because it will thicken up quite a bit as it sits in the fridge.

W/ a hefty amount of fat bro, that's for sure lol. As for weight...uhhh moved up to 50lbs on both sides for preacher curl...max for 4. I liked it. haha behind the head tricep ext. were maxxxed at 85 x 6....it's worth the fat though :)
