do you mean like sprinting with somethin attatched to you and youre pullin a thing that holds a weight
if so, this is mainly for speed and explosivness, which could be beneficial once or twice a week, i used to do alot of speed training and plyometrics, sprints, all that junk, mostly for tennis. lemme tell u about it, its hard, but it gets you fuckin ripped up like nothing else in the world, high intesity is the way to go if you wanna be ripped

i actually do sled workouts ...its great for building explosivness, cut your 40 times ...great lower body workout (quads, hams, calves get torched) and also helps your core because us tight'in up to stable your self through the run ...pushing builds great hip streghth, explosivness and etc ... all in all its a good workout ...1-2 days a week is good ...it will take alot out of you ...i would suggest doing it after the gym ....

sleds are an excellent and versitile piece of equipment, if ur looking for power take long strides with heavy weight, and the opposite for speed. there are many varities to how to walk as well. u can push, pull or walk sideways to strengthen the groin and if your feeling like a change, attach handles to the sled and get a killer upper body workout as well

Pull sleds are real good quad, hammie, calf, and even ab workout. If you're training for sports they're really good to drop your 40 time. Push sleds are good for linemen/linebacker/fullback training for football. Works legs calves abs and upper body lockout strength.
I actually have been reading about this stuff this last few weeks.. I think I am going to order a sled this week or next...I think it would be a good complement to my other training.

Another great use for sleds, or any type of resisted acceleration equipment like 'chutes, etc., is a rapid release mechanism. It's a device that you have on your belt for when you are pulling - after about the first 15 or so meters, you release the strap, which allows you to disconnect yourself from the sled, and explode your velocity forward.

the best sled there is is a 33x12.50 BFG mud terrain tire... ok im partial cause thats what i took of my truck but if you dont feel like droping the money on a sled then take an old tire, cut a hole in it and hook a tow strap or rope to it. make or buy a harnass and there you go. You can stick plywood in the inside of the tire so you can add weight. its the old jerry rice commercial workout and its NICE.

I used to pull a sled all the time in my training, great fucking workout. Then someone stole all four of our sleds and about 400lbs. of weight. It was probably the neighbors, some people that lived near the gym used to bitch about the noise of the sled being dragged down the street. The tire idea is great, cheap and wont make any fucking noise, wish I would have thought of it.
Thanks
