I just stopped doing cardio and was going to start lifting just for muscle mass. I have my routine all planned out but my diet i need help with that. I understand how much protein to get and how much fat i need, but how many carbohydrates do you guys consume for maximum muscular gain? Thanx

from the sound of it your on a bulk, so counting carbs and the like should not be a concern. you need to eat to grow. have some sort of carbs at each feeding and you will be ok. just eat, sleep and train....you'll grow faster than you think. also i wouldnt worry about eating carbs after a certain time, you grow outside the gym, so carb up, protein up....dont be shy about food

I'm taking in about 450 per day right now, but I usually go by about 2.5-3 per lbm. This is what works for me, but everybody reacts to carbs differently so you're going to have to experiment a little bit to figure out what the best ratio of carbs is for you to put on quality mass.

eat clean and eat up!

Food, food, food is the word of the day.

If you need to know 'the numbers', write them down as you eat them up; and let your fork and stomach dictate your 'Carb numbers'. Good luck on your Journey, peace.

what were you doing before? The thing here is that you have to experiment with your body and to find out what works best for you. If you're like me I'm very very sensitive to carbohydrates so I have to really limit it to before and after work out. There really is no cookie-cutter because we don't know how your body is you have to figure out on your own and go from there. I'm only eating about 200 g and gaining really really good and I'm also keeping up with the cardio part as well. So what you have to do is just experiment and find out what works best for you. If you tend to get fat from carbs then I wouldn't recommend eating too much and cut it like 5 hrs before bed time. Good luck man

I am not really counting but if i was to do an estimate i get in about 100g of carbs a day. Now, i am just eating and not counting anymore. It is lot less stress and i am growing just as much. Thanx

How much do you weigh that you only need 100g to grow effectively?

Log it for awhile so you can understand the amount of food needed for all your needs. It helps so you aren't "just eating" but eating smart. I log my food for the day every morning.

he said hes growing as much as before, but didnt say its effective...he probably barely gains weight...i wouldnt know how much carbs i eat, it varies alot...im almost on an accidental carbo load, i eat lots some days, barely any others but most days im in between id say around 200gs...i eat 4 pieces of bread everyday probably about 40gs at 2 meals, and a half glalon of milk a day...so add that up if youre good with that shit

if he's growing jsut as much as before, then that in itself says its effective.
