ah...negatives....so lost and forgotten, so often in todays modern bodybuilder.

you want a big set of guns on ya....hit up Negatives every few weeks. those will DEFINITELY help stimulate new growth. and they can definitely be used for every muscle group.

dont ever forget about the Negatives people.!

Even after fatigueing you can cheat the weight up for a few more negatives...

Burn baby burn.

You can do the same thing with leg extensions/curls. Push the weight with both legs, fight the negative with a single leg. With a training partner, you can do a negative on just about any exercise. Great thread rcrott1. You are spot on!

good thread. Negatives will definately stimulate growth. Its been said the positive is the strength priming phase happens, and the negative is where more microtears are caused, hence, growth.

spot on Rcott, will fry my bi's with negatives later on today.

Used to do 9 working sets for bi's....i realised its too much, bi's are small and after a while you stop training the muscle but rather the CNS= BAD! Comes straight from Dorian Yates himself....

Will do these negatives for ez bar curls!

negatives are the main reason for most of my arm gains but lately ive been utilizing the negs for chest training too. the pump is insane and the results are definately coming on strong.

RCrott great post man

Negatives aren't for the weak of heart. You won't be able to get out of bed in the morn if you really do them right... Then again this site isn't for the weak of heart either.

i have occaisionally done negatives for arms, but never for anything else.

i have chest tomorrow and am interested in giving it a shot. would it be good to focus on negative reps the whole workout, or throw in a few sets with bench, incline, etc...?

just confused on how to integrate them into my workout..

Good stuff indeed, I've hit em a lot with arms as well, but I think with pull ups more than anything else. I also recently changed my leg routine - after squats and db lunges...3 sets of front squats with negatives.

I just started doing negatives for my chest and I do them on a smith machine. Push the weight up with both arms and lower it with one arm, they work well when you don't have a spotter.
