and tell me what you think. i've been doin it for about 1.5-2 months now and it really works for me.

I start off the workout with 70 lbs. off my max ( so when i started my max was 160, i used 90 lbs.) and i do that set for 12 reps. then the next ste i add 10 lbs. and do another 12 reps.
the third set, i add again 10 lbs. but i do it for 10 reps and the same goes for my fourth set.
then the fifth and sixth set i do the same with the weight but i do 8 reps.

i've been doin this about once or (sometimes) twice a week. and every two weeks i add on five lbs to what i would lift already.

of course it's not the only workout i do for my chest, but it's like my main thing and it's really worked for me.

i dont know what maybe it's stupid or too much but it's working for me. like i said i started at 160 and now my max is 180 lbs.
let me know what y'all think of it. later.

hey bro if its working for you keep it up. Just make sure you get your food and protein in and you should be good to go. You might want to drop that set of 12 and do something like 10 8 8 6. and on the last set make sure its pretty heavy, so that way you can blast your chest hard. Make sure to change it up too, for example do your chest workout with dumbells instead, or mix up the order in which you do your workouts in. This helps with growth also. Peace.

Also if you keep a set number that you keep off your max (i.e. your 70 pounds you said) then it is gonna be hard, if not impossible, to keep the number of reps you do for a set going. Just don't get discouraged and keep working at it, bro!

I do pretty much the same thing. I usually do 12, 10, 8, 6.

If I feel like busting out another, I'll usually do about 4 reps, and then I'll finish off with a drop set to really get my muscles pumped.

Your max has gone up, so obviously it has helped. When it stops helping, when you dont increase strength, then I would change it.

Sounds good to me man. Who cares even if it is stupid? It's obviously giving you great results so keep sticking with it. You should be glad you've found something that really works for you. Keep going with it until your chest stops responding, but until then, stick with it.

sounds like something I'm starting "Pyramid Building" I heard this is probably one of the best things you can do for size and strength. Either keep up with them reps or you can burn the 1st 2nd 3rd set and do between 5-10 on the last set untill you reach 10 move up the weight.

What you can do which i just though of is for 2 weeks do high reps to low and next 2 weeks low reps to high

yeah like i said it's not the only workout i do for my chest. i usually do three excercises for my chest (MAYBE sometimes i'll do four once in a while) but i always keep the bench press there for the first cuz i feel that it's the most important. the other two or three excercises i do are a combo of either dumbbell presses (incline, or flat), dumbbell flyes, pec dec flyes, floor presses, weighted pushups, dips, or either of the hammer strength machines. so yeah. like i said that's worked for me so far so good. and like someone already said, untill it doesnt work anymore, ill change it. i just wanted to see what y'all thought about it. later.
