MYTH:
You should never let your knees go past your toes when squatting and doing lunges.

TRUTH:
It depends on the length of your legs and where on your joints the muscles attach...where your knees end up during any lift.

Some shorter people can squat easily without their knees going over the toes, and taller people may have a harder time.

Never start a squat with throwing your knees forward, but if they are over your toes as you are in the squat postion....no biggy.

yo vinny, you make a great point, i argue with half a dozen other personal trainers in the gym i work at over this issue. it comes up every damn week. i've always had this attitude, but never been backed up by anybody.
