Wrist Wraps or lifting straps?

Wrist Wraps: Put the loop over your thumb and wrap them as tight as you want.

Lifting Straps: Slide your wrist through and wrap the bar and grab on.

they are lifting straps, need to use em when my grip fails while the muscle is still up for it!
thanks for reply

Cool, just loop the end through the hole and put your hand through, then wrap the bar with the end, grab on and pull. Good luck.

But you have to wrap them a certin way right? I have never used them, but I think I read somewhere that you wrap them a certin way, towards your body?....Does it really matter?

No I don't think it really matters.

I've will usually wrap the strap on the outside of a dumbell and roll it around from the bottom up. This is just what works best for me. I feel as if you get a tighter grip that way.

For barbells I have never used them before nor for cable rows.

It doesn't matter, I've done it both ways...I just like to keep both ends going out the same direction; symmetrical like. In fact I usually have it so the end is coming out thumb side if that makes sense.

Okay (edited)...
I'm a Dumbass!!! I was thinking how you wrap them on your wrist...
As far as the bar goes I do wrap underneath then over back towards myself....it just seems to get a better grip that way.

Kinda hard to see, but check this out
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/gl/straps.html
click on one of the links in blue next to the picture in the middle of the page

When you slip the end through the loop it creates kind of a "6" shape (or a backwards 6). Put your hands through the loops so that the tail of the 6 is facing in (towards the other hand) your left strap should be a 6, and your right strap should be a 6 facing the other way. Grab the bar and loop the tail underneath it and around (towards you).
