What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror? I always stop to think what people see when they look at me. No matter where i am i get glares from passers by. What do they see? When I look in the mirror I see the same skinny kid I did years ago when I first started this journey. Despite being acknowledged as being "bigger" than the people around me I dont see it.

I see a dude looking for improvement, a dude that stay's constantly hungry and looking for ways to better himself, a dude that digs the life, digs the sport, a dude dedicated to what he has chosen to do, what he has chosen to become. And I see a dude that will lend a helping hand to any fallen brother.

The Guy in the Glass, by Dale Wimbrow

When you get what you want in your struggle for pelf,
And the world makes you King for a day,
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that guy has to say.

For it isn’t your Father, or Mother, or Wife,
Who judgement upon you must pass.
The feller whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the guy staring back from the glass.

He’s the feller to please, never mind all the rest,
For he’s with you clear up to the end,
And you’ve passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may be like Jack Horner and “chisel” a plum,
And think you’re a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you’re only a bum
If you can’t look him straight in the eye.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you’ve cheated the guy in the glass.

Seems appropriate

A big improvement, I see a boy turned into a man through the Iron life, someone who is determined and willing to go far to accomplish his goals, i see a student, a teacher, and perhaps a role model some day, i see a man who sticks to his way of life and never lowers himself to other ppls level but raises ppl to new ones, i see someone who lives his life with honor and respects himself along with others, I see an Animal.

I see years of hard work, an investment in myself and what I've worked so hard to become. Most importantly though, in the mirror I see a vision of what I'm working to achieve, my next goal. I see it every time. It used to be breaking the 200 lb. mark. Now at 235 lbs..... I envision myself at 250 lbs. and will work my freakin ass off to get there.

No matter how big I'm getting, I still the big weak fat kid I once was. I'm always itching for more, hungry to improve. I'll never see something anywhere near perfect when I look in the mirror, I'll always be my biggest critic. Thats how we keep improving ourselves brothers, we can never be satisfied...

I never see any gain in muscle size, just things I need to bring up. I always see the fat.

Most all of us have played the game chutes and ladders as a kid. I just came from my human communication class a someone mentioned chutes and ladders. Then I thought...this sport of ours, our passion is very similar to chutes and ladders. We are constantly climbing, striving to better our bodies and to grow into something we could never imagine. Then just like that a chute and we get sucked back our progress slowed and even halted. It can be so hard to climb a ladder but it is so easy to slide down a chute. Stay the course brothers. Thoughts?
