View Full Version : Keto grocery list help
I'm searching, but new to reading up on Keto. Can anyone post a few ok Keto fats at least or even a good basic shopping list?
Not sure if Keto is good for an old guy; gotten the spare tire down pretty good; don't want to put it back on.
Thx for any replies.

eggs
chicken
salmon
ground turkey
greens (like spinach)
olive oil
fish oil
peanut butter
you may need this instead of a grocery list
1. You get your bodyfat checked.
2. Take the % and detrmine how much lean mass you have. (lbs)
3. Take your weight x 1.5 = the number of grams of protein you need per day
4. take the number of grams and multiply x 4 = the # of calories from protein
5. divide that # by 9 = the number of grams of fat you will need per day
6. thats all you need to know is grams
7. because it is a zero carb diet we are not counting the carbs in nuts and green LEAFY vegetables.

check out oxs stable-he talks all about it
u wanna be having a lot of good fats and proteins not really many carbs in the diet-just trace amounts if u follow the same diet as ox
so...
lean steak
eggs
salmon swordfish
all natty pb or almond butter
raw almonds cashews or walnuts
olive oils macademia nut oil
chicken
turkey
green veges
fish oil
whey protein powders
Thx, got the eggs, meats fish & greens covered. It's the fats that had me wondering. Been doing a lot of oatmeal, potatoes & fruits for carbs. Guess I need to find some fats. Not overweight here; I'd take size but not if it means a gut return.
I see a lot of oils guys, was wondering about fats you actually eat; or is it just add the oils?
Again, thx for quick responses. Will check Ox's thread.

yes, although all the sat fat is MCT..meaning that it is not processed or even used in the same way as typical animal sat fat. on top of that it is not of the same calorie as fat either..being it is only 8cal's per g, compared to the 9 cal's per g of typical fat's.
bye the way the cocoa i refer to is not coconut oil, it is chocolate.
88% dark chocolate 42g of an endangered species bar provides
18g fat
11g carb
5g fiber
5g pro
and a ton nutritional health benifits.
although cocoa is mostly sat fat as well. i believe 11g out of the 18 are sat fat.

cocoa bar is far from junk food. very far.
and my diet is set up to be very heart healthy.
and i've said it once and i'll say it again Ox's keto type diet is not the end all be all to keto. his keto is nothing more than one approach to "how to" keto.

bah wrong again bro-theres only 1 way to keto diet and its oxs diet-gotta it
lol just kidding
yeah im talking more along the lines of a mr goodbar or hershey bar as junk-i sometimes eat the organic unsweetned cocoa beans-tastes bitter but very good for u
yeah i know ya diet is heart healthy
im just talking about using heavy whipping creams and bacon in a diet-i feel theyre not the best things to eat all the time
damn now im hungry

yeah, the endangered species, dark chocolate, 88% cocoa bar's are far from mr. goodbars or a plain milk chocolate hershey's. i have tried 100% dark cocoa, but that shit was nasty..and 88% is the closest i can find to the 100% bars.
i see nothing wrong with heavy whipping cream. no carbs, no protein, just good ol' fat. which is perfect for keto. and as far as bacon, i agree to the extent that it crap if its loaded with sodium nitrates and other additives, but if you can get additive/nitrate free bacon, it is good to go in my book. pork is actually a good keto meat.

yeah if u could find good bacon like that
i personally dont eat pork because i remember a tv interview w/ a serial killer who ate his victims and he said human flesh tastes like pork
i did use the whipping creams few years back but they always made me feel crappy maybe it was a mental thing lol
