When you guys do dips with added weights do you use a dipping belt? Or how do you add the weight to your body?

For the moment, I am chaining it to my lifting belt and then turning the belt around so the chain is hanging down my butt area so I can stay straight in order to hit my tri's. I have gone up to 25lbs for 20 reps. I do rest pause or DC Training style.

I have heard that some people will use a back pack. I thought about putting the chain around my waist but the weight would cause it to dig into my skin, I think.

Give me your ideas.

I just use a dip belt and a dumbbell. Stand the DB up, wrap the chain around the center once and hook. I just push the chain up against top end of the DB and secure it between my thighs while I'm doin em.

yeah dude get yourself a dipping belt. I always use one for weighted dips, working up to about 2 45's if I go real heavy. That belt is so versatile, also good for doing weighted chins. IF you're training DC the right way, you should have one anyway to do the lat stretch.

x2 A dipping belt is a must if your going to keep adding weight.

I used to do the whole plates thing....then I was shown the error of my ways and use a DB now. Much easier IMO

I used to hold a plate between my knees, it was harder to hold the weight than to press myself up. Now at my schools gym theyt have a dipping belt, and its a great piece on equipment. If i didnt have one at my disposal i would buy one. I dont think dumbells are superior to plates, and ive used both. If ou have problems with the weight hitting the floor use db's, but i cant imagine holding two dumbells with the belt, which i would have to do pretty soon so ill stick to the 45 lb plates.

Oh yeah and if you can afford it use a weighted vest.

Dip belt with chain.

Only problem, at 2 45's theres not much slack, so i almost have to sit down on them to get it through the center...

Most of my shirts have a couple holes from the chain pinching it also.

It's a great tool but you have to watch the chain, it will pinch skin if you don't have it set right. Owwww that leaves a mark.

Looks like it is unanamous then. A dipping belt (or weight vest). Before I set out to look for one got any ideas of the best place to get one? I doubt Sears is going to have one. Play it against sports probably won't. Sports Authority? hmm probably too hardcore for them in a way.

While I look for that I will try using the db with my chain and see what happens there.
