I've done it 2 different times in life. Once I wasn't eating very much or eating very good and it gave me amazing energy for like a week.
Now I'm a bit older (9 years older) and I'm eating clean and taking my multi and working out and I don't notice anything but more yellow pee when I got a shot.

Does it help to lose weight or anything?

It's no big deal and a good blood test will tell you if you will even need it or notice it. There is way more important shit to get right then to use that.
Dont like the shot...i take 5000 mcg pill form works good with me.

as with any injection, risk of injection site infection is high depending...but injecting B12 sounds like a pretty extreme way & you could get the same results from something much more simple & safe like diet & oral B12

Vitamin B12 is a member of the B vitamin group. It is found primarily in meats, eggs (esp the yolk) and dairy products. Also found in some plant foods but most research suggests plant foods are not a reliable source of B12.
Vit. B12 is necassary for formation of red blood cells, maintainance of the nervous system, and growth and development of children.
Defiency will cause anemia, and severe defiency will cause B12 neuropathy (degeneration of nerve fibers).
Symptoms of defiency include tiredness, shortness of breath and decreased resistance to infections.
Defiency most commonly linked to the guts inability to properly absorb B12, which is how injecting B12 came about.
Total body stores is about 2-5 mgs. with about 80% of this amount stored in the liver. B12 is water soluble and excess B12 is excreted in urine, thus low risk of toxicity.
This is a very brief summary of B12, I hope it answers your question.
Injecting B12 would be painful and a total waste if you do not have a defiency.

Woah! Thanks, man. I don't suffer from any of that stuff so, yeah, I probably don't need it. Thanks again.

Always get a blood test prior to even thinking of injecting B12... Usually it's only helpful in elderly who have trouble metabolizing and breaking down B12... But then again many have success taking sublingual B12.
Heck if you're using Pak and Liver Tabs, there's definitely no need for B12 shots.

having received a B12 booster once a month as long as i can remember, i feel i can attest to B12's effectiveness. 1st of all, the injection doesn't hurt any more than any other shot, which isn't much at all. 2nd, when i feel like shit and i'm tired/kinda run-down/feeling like i have a cold that just won't quit, there's no better way to get a quick pick-me-up. low toxicity rate means there's no harm in a little too much. my mom's a nurse and she swears by them, as does my grandfather, Dr. J.J. Breeland, M.D. just my thoughts, and those of 2 professionals in the field.
