we've all seen him. im talking about the guy in the gym who shows up in his girlfriends cheerleading shorts and baby brother's tee-shirt. his routine consists of bicept curls and in-depth mirror watching. some of my lifting buddies refer to these individuals as "those guys". ..so brothers, post some comments about times when you spotted "that guy" at your gym

I deffinately hear that. The routine shouldnt even consist of looking away from the iron. If you have time to do that you might not be hitting it hard enough.

Right on bro, rule #12 deals with constructive debate versus petty arguing. As you all know, J-Dawg pointed this out in a thread a few days ago.

11) Be Above The Fray...
You're hardcore... Great. You're bigger than that kid training in your gym. Super. You're stronger than anyone in the room... Fantastic. So what? There's always gonna be someone bigger, stronger and more hardcore than you. So there's no need for you to post your exploits about you showed someone up here. No need to rub it in the faces of other members. We're all here to help one another become better individuals. Be yourself. If that chip on the shoulder, that attitude, is what defined the true Animal, then The Pros here would look down on the rest of us with nothing but scorn and disgust. But they do not. They are here and they help. They are here and they support. Being an Animal is about showing respect and humility. We are ambassadors of this great sport. We are role models. We do not want to become a negative bodybuilding stereotype or caricature. So, posts that ask this kind of question, "I'm more hardcore than you because..." or "I'm more Animal than you because..." will be locked and deleted. This place is not for chest thumpers or bellowers. It's not for you to prove how tough you are. If someone in your gym annoys you, ignore it. If someone here irritates you, move on. It's also not the place for you to vent or whine about how hard life is. Life is fucking hard. Yeah, so get over it. Complaining ain't gonna get you anywhere. If you want to vent, do it elsewhere, or take it to PMs, but don't clutter up The Forvm with it.
These threads are popping up every day it seems lately. Why, why, why? They serve no purpose other than to talk about others and build your ego up a bit. Just leave it be next time you see someone doing something wierd in the gym...we were all beginners at one point and I'm pretty sure we all looked out of place and like "that guy" doing something at somepoint in our lives.
Be above the fray...
