View Full Version : Egg Recipes?
I'm sick of em guys. I should be eating atleast 8 or 9 whites every morning with one whole egg. This morning it got so bad that I basically puked them up while I was eating.
I was thinking of putting some salsa on them. Any good recipes? tips?
Thanks

I hear you on this one. The same thing happened to me. Now, I cannot eat scrambled egg whites anymore. Maybe switch the way you are cooking your eggs. Frying them in a pan is always good. I will put a little hot sauce on em so spice it up. Hope this helps.

I take two slices of American cheese and scramble my eggs. When they're done, I'll put the stove on a simmer and hand slice the cheese into small pieces and put them over the eggs. The more cheese, the less egg taste. Extra protein kick, too.

I like to put my egg whites in my oatmeal while its cooking in the pan. They blend in the oats and give them a fuller body.
Another thing I like to do to get my daily ration of egg is to put a cup or so of egg beaters in my protein shakes.
You know..of all the things you are limited to eating when getting ready for a show, I never got sick of eggwhites, even to this day. I never did eat the yolks. I would have a side of 8-10 eggwhites with every meal...covered in fat free cheese. I know you are sick of eating them and don't want to even think about them now huh.
What about eggbeaters? Those are good. They even make 'em southwestern style and I believe some other flavors as well. I usually do about 1 cup at a time. They are pricey though if your on a budget or whatever. I bet Sam's Club or Cotsco's would carry them in large quantities for a better price.

Is there a nutritional difference between scrambled egg whites and hard boiled egg white?

Eggs whites in one cup, water in the other... Hell even crystal lite if you want a little spice in your life. Water works for me though.

Just get some crystal light or diet soda... Take a big mouthful of eggs and then immedaitely wash them down.
And yeah, if it is an option, lowfat cheese and salsa work wonders. Peace, G

Instead of eggs use OATMEAL! Then once used built up your tolerance to 9 egg whites in the morning, go back to them. But I think that oatmeal is just as good as eggs. Even though it may not have as much protein it is loaded with carbs to start the day off right.

lol I'm not only eating eggs in the morning. I'm eating a cup of oats every morning in addition to the eggs.

I think Wrath said it best in the second week of the The Journey:
“Bite, chew, water, chew, water, chew, wash everything down. Repeat. This is my system. "
Check out the logs from week 2 of the Journey it talks about and gives even more information about "our" eating.
oh yeah dude make some pasta mix it with the scrambled eggs and u have yourself something beutiful...add some salsa and ur set bro.

Yeah!! Omelette with lowfat cheese and salsa and I’m ready to Go..
This isnt just eggs, but it came to me when i got sick of eggs. Take one potato, peel it, shred it like cheese. Fry it in a lil oil, dice an onion and add it. Cook until potato and onion are brown. Pour 4-5 eggs (8-10 whites) cook until it looks almost dry. Put grated cheese on it, and broil it until the cheese is melted. Serve with toast, in a tortilla whatever. Top with ketchup and hotsauce.
IT IS HONESTLY ONE OF THE BEST MEALS IVE EVER MADE. bodybuilding inspired or not. I know its greasy but for bulking its great
Has anyone ever tried egg whites from this company? I heard you can put them in your fridge and pour them into your protein shake. Odorless and tasteles!! Also will cut down on protein powder wasteage. But this sounds to good to be true. Anyone try this yet???????????????????????

I apologize to the universal folks for promoting a rival product, but you gotta respect this shit. It was recommended to me by a friend of a friend who by the way just won his pro card. He whole heartedly endorsed it and so I bought a couple gallons. Works great, took a half cup in the mornig and a full cup with my ass in bed at night. Saw a noticeable difference after a month of dedicated use. Only problem is it got very expensive so I only buy it when I bulk. The claims of being odorless and tasteless is true, it has a oily sort of texture and mixes very well with powder. But you better have a freezer to store three extra gallons. also buy the pump for it.

Hi Fellas,
Here are some tips for you to change your flavor of eggs. Eggs are bodybuilder's best friend. Just like you change your workout routine, change your diet routine too. This way you can eat and enjoy. Here is a recipe which I use to change my breakfast taste when I get tired of eating boiled eggwhites and oatmeat with milk.
1. Take 6 eggwhites and 2 whole eggs. Beat them in a brender with salt.
2. Cook in a pan and stirr to scramble. Take out from the pan and add rice in a pan with some olive oil, onions, cabbage, a lot of Soysauce and cook for a while.
3. Put the scrambled eggs in it and cook for a while till the eggs get the black texture from Soysauce. Its finished.
Serve with water!
ou can also try out these variations to change the tase:
1. Hard-Boiled eggs with salt and pepper.
2. Hard-Boiled eggs and cottage cheese (tossed in a pan) with salt, pepper and lime juice.
3. Omelate
4. Half fried omelate.
5. Scrambled eggs.
Eat hard and train Hard. Peace!

Go to the store and buy some low-sodium chicken broth. Use the nuker on the broth, put the eggs in there, eat it like soup. Eggs got REALLY bad for me too. I stumbled on this and im back up to 18 eggs a day with plenty of room for more if i incorporate them into my diet.
Try sugar free syrup on them. Adds about 35-50 calories but that is just fine by me!
Maybe try using one less egg white and one more yolk. Ex, instead of 10 whites/1 yolk, try 9 whites/2 yolks for a bit. Recent studies say the yolk does not affect bad cholesterol as always believed, it is more calorie dense though and I am not sure about the protein/fat ratio.
Oatmeal is a tougher one for me. I tried splenda and sugar free syrup, neither worked. adding fresh fruit is an idea I'd like to try though.
Personally I think oatmeal and eggs are easy compared to tuna. That stuff is horrid and I haven't figured a way to eat it without adding tons of mayo. I usually just pay twice as much and buy the chicken in a can. Pretty close on the calories/protein ratio(chicken is 50 cal/10 grams protein, tuna is 60/13).
Of course chicken doesn't have the omega 3s though

Take your eggs and make them into an omlet and fill the center with peppers, onions, and some low-fat cheese inside. Then put some Franks Red Hot on the omelt to top it off. Works wonders for me. FreakShow

heres what i do..i eat WHOLE eggs, boiled, fried, scrambled, you name it. but it works either way..
take oatmeal, and mix it in with your scrambled eggs[whites] and it totally changes it up. i mean if i eat 6-8 whole eggs, ill toss in 1 whole cup of uncooked oatmeal w/ my scrambled eggs. if i eat 4, ill eat 1/2 cup of uncooked oatmeal. get it? i never eat only egg whites cuz it wastes half the protein. and im bulking anyways.
unless of course you use egg beaters, then thats awesome[i do that sometimes]. much easier.
sick of scrambled eggs, any cool recipes, right now all i do is an omlet with ham in it and cheese. im lookin for something out there i never heard of, maybe something you guys concocted

Throw a few tbs of marinara sauce into your eggs, season it a little (to taste), and scramble em... then throw it on some toasted bread (buns/rolls are best) and melt some cheese on it... simple but absolutely delicious.

Get you a couple of whole grain english muffins... while your toasting them cook up a couple of slices of canadian bacon per sandwich, slap on some Peanut Butter, and throw in a couple of slices of granny smith apple, sounds like a weird combo of ingredients, but try it 1st. It a qick breakfast for those of us who like to sleep in and have to be to work early.

If you are able to handle hot foods, I like adding some hot salsa to my eggs on occasion to kick-start my metabolism in the morning.
Als, try splitting an english muffin, cut a piece of chicken in half, throw some scrambled egg whites on there, and add a slight amount of cheese. Great if you need extra protein.
em i normally cut up a whole jalepeno.....god i love spicy/hot food.
Sometimes I put low carb ketchup on my eggs. Depending on how I feel for taste I will just eat them plain with some black beans or with black beans and Taco suace is also good. Old El Paso is my choice of sauce.
i like my eggs w/ steak, i don't care if it's 5:30 in the morning...ya can't beat steak eggs, not even w/ a stick....
don't try putting steak (cooked) in any kind of grinder or shaker....

Just saw this....you can make your own if you cant find premade. Being from Buffalo I know about the sauce ;-)
Of course I say that and don't recall the exact measurements, but a good basic sauce you can make with Franks Red Hot Sauce and butter. I havn't tried with the low cal spray butter, but I assume it would work well. I think it's two parts sauce / one part butter (usually by Tbls).
I can put that shit on anything!

Frank's has a Buffalo wing sauce that is better than the Original Franks Red Hot Sauce. Its hard to find at times but its good stuff. If you find it give it a try.
I like to brown some ground venison, add scrambled eggs and melt some cheese on top when done.

Yup...indeed it is good stuff...but hard to find...every now and again I crank up the broiler and bust out a pan of wings....keeps the heart pumpin'!
I usually have a cup of Egg Whites as an omelette, and splash on some Franks RH. Haven't thought of the Frank's buffalo sauce, just might have to try that sometime.

What he said.
Also, we buy our Frank's RH at a restaraunt supply store in a 1 gallon glass jug. WAAAAY cheaper than buying those little bottles in the grocery store and the stuff keeps a LONG time.
2 cups diced red potato
1 tbs margarine or butter (reduced fat if you can find it), or butter flavored pam
1/3 cup sliced green onions (scallions)
1 tsp dried basil (fresh is always better)
salt and pepper
1 garlic clove, minced (or 1 tsp bottled)
2 (8oz cartons) egg beaters...you can use the equivalent of eggs or whites
3/4 cup (3oz) shredded reduced fat free of low fat sharp cheddar cheese
Ok...a few steps here, not rocket science or anything. Place potato in pan and add water to just cover the potatoes. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until tender, then drain.
Melt margarine or butter or spray pan with butter flavored pam in a non-stick skillet preferably, over med-high heat. Add pot, onions, and next 4 ingredients, then saute for 2 minutes.
Pour eggs over potato mixture, reduce heat to med-low and cook uncovered, 8-10 minutes or until almost set...watch it!
preheat broiler in oven.
wrap the handle of the skillet with foil and broil 3 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and broil about 30 seconds, till cheese melts. Should make 4 normal servings.
193 cal, 5.9g fat (depending if you use margarine or not and if you use whole eggs or eggbeaters), 19g protein, 15g carb.
My aunt used to make this for me when I broke for lunch from St. Brendan's Elementary School, located in Brooklyn, NY. I walked over to her house with my friends and she had it all ready and warm waiting for us. Of course then, she used the real deal, sweet italian sausage and fresh mozzerella cheese...you have this option if you like..here is my version. I make this for my son and he loves it.
1tbs olive oil or olive oil flavored pam
1 medium potato, cubed
1/2lb turkey sausage or healthy choice sausage, chopped (various types there)
1 small onion, chopped
1 small green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 small red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
8 eggs/eggwhites/eggbeaters...whatever floats your boat or satifies your dietary needs
2 tbs milk
less than 1/4tsp dried oregano
1 firm, ripe tomato, chopped (I like the vine tomatoes or plum)
1/2 cup lowfat or fat free cheese of your choice (we used mozzerella)
1/4 cup shredded or grated parmesan
Heat pan coated with pam or olive oil over med high heat and cook the cubed potato. Stir occasionally then chop sausage and add to pan with potato. Stir until lightly browned. Add onions and peppers and cook until onions are translucent and potato is done. Beat eggs with milk and oregano. All at once, add tomatoes, egg mix, and mozzerella. Lower heat and cook stirring lightly until eggs are soft and fluffy, not hard and stiff. Top with grated cheese and serve.
I serve this to my son with italian crusty bread...I used to stuff my bread with this and just be in my glory..best lunches I remember as a kid.
