NEXT THURSDAY.

it is all set up for, i have been using my knowledge of the anantomy to create a counter exercise to the squat which i now call the revearse squat (hey, what an original name!).

i will give more details when it is attempted by me for the first time next leg day which is thursday. i plan on telling you how it feels, if its comfortable, if it is a grueling brother to the squat or a piece of shit i must burry deep into the ground.

it can be done with either those moon boots, gravity boots, whatever they are called or with certain lat pulldowns that allow your feet to be stabalized.

basically, you need a cable that is overhead and a structure to hold your feet down. i got both and the moon boot things to do it free weight style.

any questions, post away.

6 days remain.

Why didnt you just post this in your journey then once you actually performed the exercise, post it in the training section? Dont understand the need for a new thread just for the prelude to a new exercise...

Good luck with that. I keep thinking if you force yourself into a reverse squat while in gravity boots your body will start rocking pretty quickly. But that's how it plays in my head. I am damn pleased to hear about someone thinking outside of the box and just saying I am going to do the damn thing. Much respect. I look forward to how it works out.

Sounds goofy. What's wrong with the squat? If you are tired of back squats do front squats. If you are tired of front squats and back squats do Zercher squats or Hack Squats.

Go for it you want, but I'll pass on that.

Sounds kinda badass. I assume that that you mean while hanging upside down? I think this would hit the hamstrings, abs, and hip flexors very hard. This isn't really a squat, but more of a hanging leg curl. I think it would have an effect somewhat similiar to a glute ham raise but it would hit your abs and hip flexors equally as hard while taking the lower back out of the equation. I might have to buy a pair of moon boots to try this out. Sounds like some Dragon Ball Z shit. lol. Let me know how it goes.

Yea, that sounds like it would be all hams, since quads don't pull you down.

thats the point, a revearse squat, not a squat, revearsing the plane of motion so it hits the opposite muscle groups.

you got it. takes a powerlifter to see the god in it dont it!!!

thats what i wanna accomplish, hams and hip flexors main mover vs the quads and lower back as in the normal squat.

i have a feeling though that the cable version will be better then the free weight version. only time will tell.

nothing is wrong with the squat. love it.

whats wrong with the bench press, nothing. is there still a need to row? fuck ya!

would you only train biceps and not the oposing movement for triceps, i would hope not.

thats what i am trying to do with the squat. sure it may sound weird but what do i lose trying it out.

i dont have a journey, and what does it change if i post it 5 days earlier then posting it 5 days later?

i just wanted to make sure i remembered to post this up so i can share it with everyone here cause i forget alot.

Sounds like a cool exercise, I don't think I'd be ballsy enough to try it in public though. Kudos to you for thinking outside the box.

i was unable to complete the version i wanted to try, the free weight version from hanging. i set a new squat record for myself of 360 then did it for an assisted double. my quads and hams where too tight after words to get into position.

the cable version needs some getting used to but it worked well. kills the hip flexors and hams.
