Well, my shoulder injury I'm always talking about finally took a turn for the worst today. I was in the gym doing my bench sets; worked up to my 4th set of 275x2. My first rep was easy, went up and down with no complaints from my shoulder. The second rep came down about halfway, then my right shoulder gave away and the shit literally ripped. Felt and sounded like someone ripping fabric. Went to the ER and the doc said I have to see a specialist, but I definitely need to lay off the weights for at least a month or two.
I know some of you have been in the same situation; anything involving upper body is essentially out of the question and I feel down as hell...I really don't know what to do about keeping my size and all. I know I'll lose some size, but I'm planning on hitting the legs hard with leg presses and such...
What do you all recommend?

Not much you can do other than that. Priority #1, heal up right. If you don't and re-injure, that would be really bad. Otherwise, keep away from flat bench forever...evil!

1x10 185
1x6 225
1x6 245
1x2 275 (rip)
Haha and I hear ya about the flat bench bein' the devil and all, but I love doin' it when it's not killing me...

hope everything works out for u
sorry bro
dont forget to take in aminos. They really help keep your mass if you take enough of them. Rest it, heal properly, and come back new and fresh.

Well you are only 19 years old. As long as you keep eating big, you shouldn't lose that much size. Forget about Nitro and worry more about keeping the calories up.

Had the same thing happen to my dad couple of years ago when he was doing flat bench, only the tendons in his tris ripped, not the shoulders. Good luck, man.
I wasnt talking about nitro, more talking about EAA since its much more for a cheaper price. There have been studies showing that supplementing with the EAA kept the mass for people who didnt work out for a whole entire month.

DAMN---Sorry to hear...let's keep positive,,,
Ice ice and more ice--the first 36 hours to keep inflamation down, throw a frozen bag of corn on it for 20 minutes...4x a day!
Rest rest and more rest...sorry no more training--even lowers..take 5-7 days off from everything...you wil not loose size-strenght!
Dr--please get an MRI as soon as possible, and make an appointment with a good sports orthopedic surgeon...
Honest--worst case -- a tear, but let's hope for a sprain-strain ok!
Hit me up...if you need more help!
And please keep me posted!

Shoulder is already feeling a lot better; I went to the orthopaedic surgeon and all he told me was that I need an MRI... already knew that, so that's being scheduled by them right now. I dont think it's a tear though as it is already feeling 80% better. I can lift my arm to the side and put on my shirts now...must be the pak ;)
