I just wanted to get a few opinions on what weight do you think someone can carry at a 5-10 height before he starts compromising flexibility and speed. This is my goal. To get as strong, fast, flexible, and even a higher vertical. Just better in all aspects. I'm 216 and wondering when this will become difficult or impossible. I know there are plenty of big guys here.

I don't excatly know how much weight is optimal for good flexibility, speed and so forth. All I know is that stretching your muscles after working out will improve fledibility. For the verticle, do explovive box squats...

I'm ~5'10, 230lbs and I can touch the floor with my palms...

I was hoping there isn't one. I just don't want to be a big slow guy. But I am sure at somepoint it starts becoming difficult to do normal tasks at the 250+ mark. But hopefully that is on a individual bases.

Look at some of the pro football players, big and fast, its about the training employed too as well as the food.

I just need to figure out what they are doing. I am wanting to incorporate more explosive movements and powercleans and sprints. I have stayed away from cardio because of my bulk and I was wanting to wait until I hit the 250 mark...which was a 225 mark...and might get changed when I get close to it. It never seems as big when I get there.

Your speed and flexibility will not be comprimised as you get bigger if you keep on top of it and still train it. I am currently sitting around 250, can put my palms on the floor, still have a decent vertical and my speed is still there. Like with muslces, if you dont train these areas they will atrophy causing them you to lose the ability to utizilze them. For a higher vertical try these:

Olympic Lifts
Box Jumps
Depth Jumps
Skips
Actually doing a vertical
Board Jumps
Frog Jumps
Hops
Calf work
Bounding
Sprints
Hip Flexibilty
thats all i can think of right now

Speed there are all sorts of articles out there to help with that can help

x10000

Work on explosive movements such as all olympic lifts, the Big Three (Bench, Squat, Deadlift), work on plyometrics...
This is what I did last year and I ran 5 flat on my 40 @ 265lbs. It's possible. Don't worry too much and just work hard. That should help.

a couple workout that focus mainly on being explosive are rack cleans and push press.

deadlifting and squatting will help your vert tremendously. i went from 195-225 at 6-0 and my vertical increased about 4 inches just by powerlifting. just keep training and keep the bodyfat down and you should be fine.
