No one has mentioned Rise Against yet? Or Saosin or Senses Fail? Just as long is the song is somewhat fast and I at least know the words to the chorus, then I'm good. I've gotta rock out to something during rest.
Although i like listening to Disturbed, Pantera, Linkin Park, Marlyn Manson etc my fav still remains trance.....bands like GMS, SKAZI, ASTRIX, LOGIC BOMB etc are what i prefer.

Disciple, they got a real good sound to pump ya up.
Everyone loves some sweet jams to throw the weights too, so I took some of my favorite bands to jam to (mostly hxc,heavy-metal, thrash, speed-metal ) and decided to list them. If you know any that I didn't list, by all means hit me back with some sweet tunes!
Hope you enjoy the music.

My favorites that I've been losing to the past year has been rock (disturbed, godsmack) but mostly hip hop. I try to switch between the two genre. I also have the rocky soundtrack in the mix, and it's on! Typically, the music is to get my head straight and to not make me listen to the gym sounds (chatting, etc.)

Alot of us use music to get us focused in the gym (hey we don't all use ammonia tabs!), some just use it to keep themselves sane after a long day of work. Whats your favorite music?
Before stepping into the gym I ussually blast Seether's Remedy in my truck. The name Remedy is fitting because I am about to get mine inside the gym.

First off, this is my first post on this forum, glad to be here. I love to listen to anything loud when I'm liftin'. System of a Down, Pantera are my metal favs, but sometimes I'm in the mood for rap. Then it's usually DMX, but Young Jeezy lately, and sometimes Xibit or 50 Cent. Like I said, anything loud.
Angry pissed off rap.. Underground dirty rap. The nitty gritty shit. I am talking Jedi mind tricks, AESOP Rock, Mr.Lif, Eminem, Tony yayo.
try Rammstein, gets ur blood pumping
That's what I listen to most of the time too. Industrial metal rules. Megaherz and Sentenced are also great.

I dont have the luxury of a CD player in the gym, or an mp3 player of my own. But when FUEL by Metallica comes on the radio, its sure to be a slammin set. If it comes on between sets, i turn it up. During a set, I never let the weight go till im completely totally drained, and then maybe a double drop set. That song just does it for me.....

as your will is bent and broken
every vision has been cast into the wind,
as your courage crashes down before your eyes,
don't lie down and die,
cause I see in you
more than you'll ever know,
and I ask you why
you question the strength inside,
and you need to know
how it feels to be alive
every wound has been reopened
in this world of give and take
you must have faith
and the distance to your dreams stretch beyond reach
don't lie down and die
too lazy to get the rest lol

Everyone should have "Live for this" by Hatebreed on their playlist. Listen to the lyrics. It is about each and every one of us.
Also, am I the only crazy one who thinks it is some sort of jinx to listen to my lifting playlist when I am not on my way or about to move weights? Like its going to fool my body into getting the adrenaline pumping and not be rewarded or punished? I save listening to this music for when I want to go crazy. Music takes over my body and controls me, the only thing I do is push past the pain, and I want this music to ignite that fire inside, and if I cry wolf one too many times by playing it when it is not yet time, I am scared it will lose some effect. Yo fellas
I bought an iPod nano recently and I’ve spent a few weeks uploading songs onto it, but I need some bangin’ playlists.
My number one priority is playlists for working out. I’m hoping you guys can set me up with a couple of them. I am a deaf guy (well, okay hearing impaired) so keep I mind while I can hear voices/beats I can’t necessarily understand what’s being said.
I’m looking for 4 different types of playlists – 3 weights (hour long) and 1 cardio (30 minutes long).
Monday is leg day. Squats, stiff legged dead lifts, calf raises, etc. I need some hardcore shit for Monday. Legs are a bitch and I want something that (short of) gives me that anger/rage feeling to get the fuck up on those last reps of squats. Maybe a hardcore gangster rap/rock/metal type of music (something I have NO experience in)
Wednesday is back & biceps day. Dead lifts and chin ups, preacher curls and 300 pound shrugs finished with heavy duty bent over rows. For me an easy day but intense all the same. Just want something rockin’, something to keep your head moving in-between sets.
Friday is chest/shoulders day. Incline presses, military presses, raises and flies. Same general feel as Wednesday but a new, fresh beat.
Then of course, there’s the beloved HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-intensity_interval_training) cardio days. Full out sprints for 2 minutes, light jog for 3 minutes. Repeat 6 times, go home on wobbly wheels and scorched lungs. Techno/drums n bass/electronica fits the bill here. I have a lot of this type of music, but I can’t really find any that quite fit the bill. Most are either too long or not enough variety in ‘em and I get bored.
So what’chu got, what do you fellas listen to/recommend for me?
DanCling
02-27-07, 12:36 pm
Big Flanch, I'm definately with you on the classical. I always listen to classical music on the drive to the gym. It just gets me focused and ready to go to war. Also, a lot of the guys I lift with joke on me when I put on "Wild Horses" by the Rollin Stones before a big lift.

For me nothing beats, old school prog/thrash metal like; Metallica, Megadeth, Savatage, Pantera etc.
COMPLETELY AGREE....Nothing keeps me focused like have Metallica blaring in my ears. The only thing that drives me nuts is when people come up and start talking to you. I busy here jackass.
