Leg day consists of J-Pop (basically just Japanese beat music). It let's me zone out. Big squats though... I always dial up Chamillionaire - Frontin'.

I get that one running in my head... I look around at the posers in the gym for a second, then I just look within and push some fk'in iron.

Nobody knows...at least as far as I know...I cant remember who I asked, it may have been Wrath himself (this was at my first Arnold..), but this said person, told me they brought in someone and they just made the song on the spot..so..? I dunno...I want it on my iPod so if anyone knows then hit me up lol...

im a huge metal fan when it comes to being pumped, occationally ill throw in a rap song, but ya..

to be really brief, in flames and soilwork get me the most pumped up in the first 30 min of my workout, then i get into things like dimmu borgir and stuff to keep me motivated without getting too crazy (and overdoing it to the point of not being able to finish all my sets)

when im not lifting, ill listen to more mellow stuff like pendulum and stuff.

With that Sweet Heavy Metal Ring to it, and I'm there. Its all about what I'm feeling at the moment. Sometimes it might possibly range all the way from In Flames to Mettalica. Just like my workout routine, my music is always changed after everyworkout. It Just Makes Since.

Yeah Deftones are awesome, but I don't consider it gym music. I'll listen to Deftones all the time when I'm doing homework or walking to a grocery store or class or something, but think there is a difference between lifting music and recreational music.

If you wanna try some music without words... this are my favorites...
maybe not maybe to do when trying to lift heavy and gives that extra pump... but they are still very good to listen to IMO :P

From Hans Zimmer
-budget meeting
-all of them
-Requiem for a dream (violin)

the music in gladiator, Halo main theme....

and if you maybe wanna try some more traditional...

-everything in the movie The Pianist composer Frederick Chopin
-Schindlers list theme
-Pathetique mvt II and III by Beethoven
-Symphony #7 mvt II by Beethoven

a sample!... maybe when you gonna listen to them ... you really not gonna like! but for me... my mommy was a pianist for 12 years... so i have been raised with this kind of music:P

enjoy lol

I was a big fan of Trivium with Ember to Inferno and Ascendacy but I really dont like the crusade, they are trying to be to much like metallica and they need to be themselves.

My favorite song before hitting the weight room is Triple H: King of Kings by Motorhead. But I'll also listen to Black Label Society, Metallica, Pantera and Deathklok.

Alright! I checked back on the thread and noticed somebody else listens to DethKlok. You have to be insane NOT to like it. Not bad music for a couple of cartoon artists.

Heavy Days: Disturbed(the ENTIRE 'The Sickness' album), Godsmack, Judas Priest(Heavy Metal...it gets no more appropriate), AC/DC, Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley(songs like Confrontation and Move!, anti-establishment tunes get me going), The Game, 50 Cent etc

Light Days: anything with a good beat, usually some Dancehall/Reggae, especially the back-in-times('old school' to you Americans) like Super Cat, early Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Bounty Killa, etc etc.
No need to get seriously pumped up on a light week, just need some good tunes to drown out the light rock and techno shit they play over the gym system...unless i get them to change it to a decent station

Throwdown. This music gets blood pumped into my muscles before I even kick down the door to my gym. I love it. Also, just to change it up and not get stuck in the same routine, I listen to Hatebreed, Earth Crisis, All Shall Perish, Terror, Death Before Dishonor. There is more, but these top the charts. I just got motivated thinking about this music. Its my off day. Shit.

*Oh yeah...when I sparingly do routines of 20-rep squats...Hatebreed - "Live for this" helps me get to 20, then I crawl out from under the bar.

I've listend to Natash Bedingfield a few times since getting a new and bigger Ipod that I can load way more stuff on. Also I'm not the one who listens to pop, so this is kinda shocking that I can get pumped to this. Also today I put it on Godsmack: Get Away and got all kinds of fired up. Don't really know why, but it got me going for my killer leg workout.

I ment Godsmack: Keep Away but I put Get Away. Today I was listing to Disturbed which was pretty good to get pumped up to.

Today for squats Static X Destroyer was the best song ever. Something about someone screaming "Ohh you do it again, you do it again, destroyer!" while you are repping out with some heavy weight just seems to fit.

-=snip=-Whats your favorite music?

I grew up in the '70s, so AC/DC, Kiss, Alice Cooper strike a chord. Did a lot of factory work in the '80s where we'd go out drinking after our shifts and Metallica and NIN was definitely the soundtrack during that time. Today, I teach in an inner-city school and have a growing interest reggaeton, hip-hop, and rap. But, yeah, nothing beats Enter Sandman when you're getting ready to squat.

LOL I've seen the video's of him deadlifting 700 and squating 700, and just the things he says to get himself pumped, I cant help but crack up. Love ronnie, but I crack up when he psychs himself for a lift.

x2 the new cd is out of control. Check out suicide silence, the red chord, through the eyes of the dead, and job for a cowboy if you like whitechapel.

I always listen to hard rock when lifting. It puts me in the zone and gives me that extra energy I need for one more rep!!

SlipKnot rough mix, I been listen for the same cd for the last 6 week, never tire of it, one time I forgot my ipod at home, I drove 30min home just to get it, without it i cant work out at the gym haha

I have the same problem. I can't find a good lifting gym around here so I work out at the 24 hour fitness. If I go around 2-3AM after I get off work the guy there during the week plays classic rock and some newer stuff, other than that it's slip knot, hatebreed, fear factory etc. I'll post up my actual playlist once I get home and can look at my ipod.
