i recently started a powerlifting routine,but my arms have stopped growing,they just got thicker,do you think if i add some extra armwork it will help? thanks brothers

No, no, and no. Why not focus on your heavy compounds and force your arms to grow? I look at arms like I look at supps, they are only meant to "supplement" your physique, the real shit lies in that X of yours...

Work your brachielles (Spelling?)... They are the golf ball sized muscle that you see on Machine's arms and other pro bodybuilders.... Do some hammer curls, close grip( I mean CLOSE) precher curls... Add some intensity techniques like runnin' the rack, 21's, buddy curls, giant sets..... Also do heavy bent over BB rows. If your biceps won't grow anymore, that means it hit a plateau... time to blow it up!!!

thanks brother,i already do cgb,and hammers,i wish i had equipment for preacher curls,i hate plateus!
Never really trained arms back when I was into powerlifting....figured if I was going heavy enough on back, than my biceps were getting hit enough, same with working chest and tri's....Push it on back and chest and your arms outta grow.

I wasn't saying they're not, with that being said however, if you're lifting heavy and hard as PL's do, your arms will have no choice but to gain strength leading to a gain in mass.

no sir it isnt,there going pretty well i use to compete in the apf but only dl
To tell you the truth, for a month I stopped training my arms and focused on heavy compund movements. They grew an inch that month and have never grown like that before.

My thoughts too. The original post said "they stopped growing...they've gotten thicker." Thicker = growing. Besides, what good are big arms? Strong arms will assist in your power moves, but big, puffy, weak arms won't help at all.
You could always train arms twice a week
or add more sets
Your biceps are the fastest recovering muscle remember

do back then train bi's one day and shoulder on another chest and tris on another
or train 4 days aweek and do back one days, arms/shoulders another, legs and then chest
i would still work them once a week basically but if you are a powerlifter concentrate more so on close grip bench and dips, things that will help u get ur bench up!

I agree for the most part. For my own PL'ing goals, I have added specfic support movements for grip strength and tri's to help bring them up a little faster. But as your tri's make up most of your arm, heavy compound movements will cause them to grow. Maybe not as fast as BB'ing but they will grow. Look at pic's of The Lad and tell me he doesn't have a some big guns:)

add total mass to your phisique and your arms will grow. push the squat and push the steaks down your throat. gain 15 pounds and your arms will be 1 inch larger.

i agree with you brothers,excuse my strange thoughts,ive been having problems lately(outside from lifting) and wasnt thinking straight,i am going to continue pl,but throw in some bb style exercises or rep ranges every now and then to keep the body growing a bit faster,i love pl,i love the strenght,and i do not want to stop just to grow,so will try that out,and see how it works,thanks for all your help
