View Full Version : Rest Between Chest Exercises
I was considering incorporating a superset into my chest routine. I would like to go from an incline dumbell flye straight into a Dumbell Bench Press. This issue is that I do my chest routine with a spotter.
Normally with just the bench press, I would do my set and spot my partner while he does his set, this time is usually around a minute or under so it works well for my rest. With the superset I think that the rest will be around 2 minutes long. I try to make sure all rest are short, maybe 90 seconds the most... if that.
Not all muscles require the same resting time I know, but is it that larger muscles needs less rest or more than smaller muscles. What are some good superset ideas for chest, will this work?

90 seconds - 2 minutes seems like its enough time for rest between supersets. Large muscle groups usually need more rest then smaller ones. Some good chest supersets would be:
Incline Fly SS Incline Press
Bench Fly SS Bench Press
Dips SS Pullovers
Honestly, you can do it all bro. You can superset what ever you want. Just be creative there are no limits.

I do both supersets and tri-sets with very little rest in between the sets. This type of training doesn't allow heavy lifting, but I think it's an effective way to train. I feel that I have developed doing short and intense workouts.

It's just nice to mix exercises every so often. Go for it.
