I always thot pullovers are for expanding the rib cage and for developing serratus .
i came across a split in this section where a guy is doin pullovers on back day.
now i'm confused.

pullovers are a stretch excercise for the lats and a contracted chest excercise , if u want to hit both muscle groups simultaneously then do them through full range of motion , if u want to isolate the lats do partials that don't go beyond your forehead

You can do pullovers on either back or chest. They help stretch your lats as well as add thickness to your chest. Me personally if I want to do pullovers on back day I do Nautilus pullovers and on Chest day I will do DB pullovers laying across a flat bench

You can not "expand" your body parts. And personally I'm not a huge fan of using them for chest, I tend to put them on my back days.

I want to start doing these on back day. Is it bad to do them after shoulder/triceps day since they use a little bit of triceps? This is the split I'll use:

M: Shoulders/Triceps
T: Back/Hamstrings
W: Day Off
Th: Chest/Calves
F: Quadriceps/Biceps

actually, its been proven in humans who have not yet fully matured into adults, the rib cage can very affectivley be thickened and the cartiledge can be lengthend to a decent degree.

after a certain age (25ish) it becomes nearly impossible to increase rib length but they still can get thicker.

i found a very good article and video about this. do not know how to make links so i cant link it up here but it does not matter.

i think a wider grip and focusing on the lower range of motion would be the best way to get the back moving that weight.

You can do them on either chest or back day. I do them on chest day. Dumbbell pullovers are a great lift for anyone's arsenal!!

Accross a bench keeping your hips low and with unlocked elbows hits both the chest nand lats but in my experience hoits the lats far more than the along the bench with arms straight.

I train back the day after the chest day. Which day shall I do pullovers?

I do the same, back after chest. I personally use DB pullovers on chest day at the end of my session.

I do pullovers for back and chest, I always try to go verry heavy.... In the beginning I did them wrong, so that my triceps could't hold the weight...
