Lately ive been getting some wrist problems when working out. Its mainly when im working biceps and curling. I have found a way of solving this by placing my index finger on the wrist bone (fingernail side) and your thumb on the palm and pushing. It makes a few clicks and then im ok to workout again.

I dont know why im getting wrist problems though, Is it because when i am curling a barbel my grip is too close so its putting pressure on my wrists? Im used to curling Ezbar so my wrists are angled.

Does anyone else have this problem? I thought that if none of you know ill check out a this woman my sister and my mum see, Shes like a witch (lol) think she specialises in Kinsiology (Which is what i want to do) she can make colds go away etc and when i broke my shoulder (green stick fracture) she managed to make the pain go away really really quickly.

You could be supinating your arm beyond the natural range of motion. If the pain persists stick to EZ-bar curls or DB curls. This will place less stress on the wrist and distal forearm. You can still get a good workout and pump without using BB curls.

honestly I don't think a witchdoctor is necessary for this situation...Exepriment with your grip and see if the pain subsides. Also, are you taking a joint supplement??? My right wrist is horrid but when I started taking FLEX it was like night and day. I still have some pain but it is nothing like it used to be. And to be perefectly honest with you the only other advice I can give is to just suck it up. If you train intensely and with heavy weights you are going to have some aches and pains. It just part of the game my man. If you feel like it is an injury and not just joint pain then I would suggest you see a doctor.

i do experience the same sort of pain with the standard barbell curls, however when i switch to the smaller barbells they have at my gym, the pain subsides. I wouldnt completely shy away from the standard barbell curls as they are one of the best way to put some meat on the bis, i just wouldnt use them as a staple week in and week out in your biceps routine.

Are you dong any kind of forearm work? wrist curls? finger culrs? ect..?? The stronger the forearms, the stronger the wrists...

i have exacly this problem, close-grip curls are particularly bad for ur wrists.
either use an EZ bar, or use wrist straps, i think either one of these will solve ur problem.

There is a reason they call it "ez" bar. I used to have the same wrist problems you do. While I still use wraps, my wrist issues went away with training. Find a comfortable position on a barbell, do some lighter weight until your wrist get stronger. Do forearm work as well. Barbell work hits the bicep much better than the ez bar.

I experimented with my grip today and it turns out (well its hard to describe) I was having my elbows at my side but was using a very close grip (3-4" away from each hand) and then was causing my wrists to try and stress because they had to still hold the bar thus putting pressure on them. I found out that the problem does no longer consist if i take a much wider grip (putting elbows by the side and the hands directly infront (not going in)

Do forearms twice a week (very very casually) with chest n tris and back n bis. I just stick to doing wrist curls on cables 3 dropsets

I wanted to mix up not using the EZ bar though :S im going to get Wrist straps with my next supplement order because theyre only 4.99 there and look really good, plus the other night my hands were bleading because i trained so intenseley.

Bingo! And yeah i found that the barbell work hits bicep harder than ez bar.

Agreed with many of the comments on here.

Forearm training is an excellent idea to strenghten the wrists.

Also, the wrist wraps sound like a great idea...however, make sure you get some good ones. It's better to spend $10-$20 for a pair of good ones that will last and give you real support than $5 on some mediocre ones. I would recommend either a pair by Inzer, Titan, or APT Pro. Google any of these names to find them online. Personally, I use the Titan THP ones, and they are great. They cost me about $10.

Wraps are great, dont just hit your forearms as an after though, hit some hard wirst curls with a barbell, reverse curls, finger curls, try some levering and wrap a rubber band around your fingers with all the tips touching and then spread out your fingers, this will help work the opposing groups and fight imbalances...

Wraps are great, just don't form too great of a dependancy, you'll end up weakening your wrists in the long run.
