"Get rid of that shit by tomorrow."
Yup, that's what I was told by the 'rents after they noticed a can of Cuts near my sink. Apparently, I have to get rid of it or they'll take the lisence plate off my car. According to them, any and all supps are dangerous and un-needed by anyone; the supp companies are just looking to make a buck. And according to them, Cuts is dangerous because it makes you lose too much water, being a diauretic (sp) product. They also refused to look at any of the countless pages of positive reviews and information on the subject. I should "listen to my doctor who say's to avoid that stuff." This is the same doctor who said that protein powder was dangerous.
Seriously, can anyone believe this fucking bullshit? I was just starting a 3 week Cut, it was my first ever can of anything Animal. Has anyone else ever encountered problem with high and mighty parents/doctors who think they know everything about something they've never researched? This seriously fucking pisses me off. Sorry, just needed to rant.
And does anyone have any helpful solutions to this?

IMO if you live under your parents roof then you've gotta abide by their rules. My parents were the same way - suspicious of anything and everything that isn't regulated by the FDA. Now that I'm out of the house, I buy my supplements because they can't bitch at me about it. When I'm home for the summer I'll take it easy on supps - stick to protein powders, EFAs, EAAs, and Pak. But like I said, as long as your parents are supporting you, you should respect their rules.
LMAO I feel like the biggest hypocrite after writing that. I never really abided by my parents rules in high school, but it would've been the right thing to do.

Similar situation sort of. I noticed my recovery time went from 1.5 - 2.0 days to 3.0 - 4.0 days and I mentioned it to my doctor. She told me that if I didn't want to be so sore, I shouldn't work out.
When I asked her about my high blood pressure, she told me anytime I work out I would increase my heart rate. If I didn't want it to go up, I shouldn't work so hard.
Logical sense in some regards, but it's her job (in my mind) to make me better so that I CAN STAY IN THE GYM!
If your parents aren't willing to have an open mind, then you can live by their rules in their house or get your own house and have your own rules.
Just my .03 cents.

hide it in ur closet...
i hate to be the one to pitch the oh so sensible but seemingly futile option of trying to inform them lol.. but from what i can guess they seem like the type who will listen to someone who they think knows what there talking about... go to your doctor with info, research. if you can get the doc on your side.. used carefully these supplements are beneficial to your health type thing. your rents may eat that up.. oh ok well if doc says its ok.. he knows what hees doin right. i had the same issue with my dad and i just started talking about it all the time so that whatever i learned he learned.. last month he mentioned to me that in is aging (54) hees noticed hees lost a little size. and asked if maybe he should take a protien drink just to help him keep fit.
worth a try bro.

i hate to advocate bad behavior, but my rents would freak if they saw something like "ANIMAL NITRO" so i keep that stuff in the "dont look in here" drawer.
if they're cool with you having sex or you have a steady GF, shove a bunch of condoms n shit in one drawer, they look once.. they never look again. put your supps there.
OR, buy a safe. say your being responsible and keeping your money there. if they ask to look in it, tell them your busy on homework and they can in like.. 5 min or something, take out all ur supps, then show em the cash/belongings you wouldnt want stolen.
wha-lah. its the perfect plan! haha... or whatever.
or you can tell them that you (and many other people) have done research on these things, and that your WAY healthier than they are by working out and taking care of yourself diet wise (assuming your diet is good if your on cuts).
tell them your physical health being is more important than some car. that sends the message through.
when i started lifting, i bough an NO product that sucks but had some kewl name to it, they got freaked out and took away my car.
now, im the only one fit enough to move/lift/etc anything, so every time (multiple times a day) my parents need something big moved/etc they ask me. well, no moving shit until i get my car back. sorry.
funny how quickly they realized me being in shape helped them.

You have real stubborn parents!!! When I started suppin' I told my parents what they were and they really didn't care too much as long as they weren't steroids. Now my parents are real busy with work, so they really don't have much time to catch up with what I'm doing. I'm responsible and behave well, so they trust me with what I do and they don't seem to mind.
Your parents are the total opposite and I would have to say, if you live under their roof, you abide by their rules. Now, as previously mentioned, you can hide your supplements. I had a friend bury his in his backyard. Another hid them in the bathroom next to his boxers. I had another stash them in a refridgerator in the garage. If there's a will, there's a way. Also, try to come up with a compromise.
Above all, don't get discouraged!!!! You don't really need supplements, but they sure do give you an edge. Just eat right, train hard, get ample rest, and you should be fine. But if you want to be a sneaky person, just find some creative places to hide your stash.
I'm done ranting... tell us how it goes, okay?

Bro I wish had some solutions to help you out. But like the previous post there is not much you can do when u live under there roof. Or unless u want to live in ur car.
Or the solution I have would to be give me the cuts that will help you out. LOL.

Yep, I had to throw out a brand new tub of protein when I was in High School. My mom found it and got pissed. So I had to go dump it out. There were other supps too, let's just say I never bought anything after the 2nd try. I bought them both at the same time, but she only found the protein so that's what went first, but it all came down when she found my other supps.

I'm sorry man that sucks I showed my mom my stash just today. Pak, Flex, Pump, whey and casien jugs of protein. hahah she just laughed at me. But when I told her how the flex was getting rid of almost all the pain in my torn rotator cuff,,, she was asking me where she could get some of that.. hahaha. good luck too ya man and I know they've already posted this in the forum but you live under their roof, their rules.
my parents think i won't have kids cause iam taking pak and a weight gainer and no matter what i tell them they don't listen. so they keep bitching about it everytime i go make a shake but i told them it's my money and i buy whatever i want with it i worked for that money.
I have to ask before posting anything, do you have any type of medical conditions such as high blood pressure or anything else wrong with you cardiovascular system?
If you do, then you should listen to your doctor, cause Cuts mixed with preexisting cardiovascular conditions can be harmful to your health, which may be the reason why they're against it. I had the same problem until I brought my bp down to a healthy level, then everyone was fine about it.

yeah just hide your shit, you have a locker at school i'm guessing, well theres one place.
you could put it in the glove compartment of your car or under your seat too.
and if you have a backpack i'm sure it has some little compartments, just throw the can away. it shouldn't be too hard

I guess I'm among the few who actually gets support from his mother? she doesn't really know what these supps are but she trusts me... she's used to seeing big protein powder containers and stuff... she actually learns a bit about nutrition while living with me lol
I got nothin' but support from my parents too. When I was in college, they used to buy me Animal Max, Nitro, and Pak and ship it to me for my birthday/Christmas and stuff. I was an athlete in college, and honestly wouldn't have made it through my daily regimen without the supps. Explain to them what it does, and really have a sit-down talk with them. Show the stuff to your doctor if it doesn't work, and bring in the pages of research. He'll be able to convince your parents even if you can't. Good luck man, until then...just keep eating healthy and workin out hard. You can still get results with good ol' food and blue collar work ethic. Family has to come first...I don't care what it is, but if it interferes with my family life, I'd take it on the chin and work to show them what the positives are.
Soldier,
On a completely unrelated side note, I see you're from the Metro Detroit area. Where at? I'm in Southfield/Berkley/Royal Oak area.

Exactly same situation as me. As posted in another thread, they keep saying the protein powder is bad for me and will make me fat/bloated/make my youknowwhat shrink.. all different things! So what happens if they saw my pills of pak and flex? THEY'D FLIP! So i just order them to a mate's uni accommodation, throw the cans away and just hide the pills in my college bag.
EDIT: And btw, i use to pour my whey into a smaller container and they were kool with that. Then one day i actually took out the big ass container that the whey comes in and they flipped! I tried to explain that its the same stuff.. but they didnt listen. Its all about visual aspects sometimes, i know if i had powder as oppose to 10/11 pills, they wouldn't be as bad. Just try and work around it.
Bro, I have to say sorry, this sucks bad, my parents were stict like yours about alot of things, but weightlifting was not one of them. My dad was a avid lifter in his golden years, so the supps and pro and shit flew well with him and he understood. No for ya, try sliding the packs between the mattresses if you feel you need to ignore the parents. (I probably would) Do not take them to school, if they search your locker, they will call them some crazy job and proabably get you expelled. I would then try to educate them. Show them the site. Show them what you learn. Learn them the same. Try to get them into it. If they don't want to hear it, try one of your coaches from school who is a big lifter or a big guy. I know my weight lifting coach would have been real convinceing to my parents....I hope this helps bro, good luck.
