I am a 32 year old male who has lived in Northern Indiana my entire Life. I have a BS in Criminal Justice and have worked in Corrections for the last eight years. I have spent the last 15 years in different stages of training from fair to fat-ass to fit and back around and through stopping all along the way. On the upside the fluctuations have helped me learn my body's responses to various stimuli and it has allowed me to do what I can now that I am finally focussed. Not looking to compete with anyone but my own lift log and mirror.

I used to be a fatty. In high school I was nearly 230 lbs, never played sports and in fact, the only thing I ever played was video games. I ate what I wanted and didn't give a damn about myself or being fit. Then after graduation I started a dead end job and realized I needed to go somewhere in life. Then it happened, I wasn't going to listen to anyone or what they had to say, and I drove myself up to the recruiting station, tried joining the Navy and they told me I was above the weight limit. But I wanted in...

My friends told me I couldn't and that I wouldn't loose weight, get in shape and dedicate my life to getting on the right track. I used what they said as fuel for the fire, once again I wouldn't listen and didn't. I remember when I couldn't run a mile, or even half a mile, without stopping to breathe. Six months later I got on the plane and arrived at boot camp weighing 197. And it was tough but so worth it.

I've been in the Navy almost 2 years now. Work out religiously and hit the weights everyday. I'm 6'1" weigh around 210 and I'm in the best shape of my life and can't imagine ever going back. I don't take too many supplements but all I think about in the gym is how everyday is a battle and what I have and what I am currently overcoming. And reading these Animal forums most definitely help inspire and motivate my everyday life.

I have 4 more months out here on deployment and working out helps with the stress of everyday life. I'll always have the goals of what I'm going to work on next, and I'm always going to make the progress towards them.

Hey! 48 year old here, who's taken a long break (about 6 years) from the gym. Finally back in a position to start back, and eventually get more serious about lifting. Working through a couple of health issues (arthritis in the lower back and flat feet), but those seem to be getting back into check. Once I feel more comfortable with the positive progress of those issues, I can then tackle the bigger stuff. Looking forward to reading and learning, and then asking.

Hey everyone! I'm Brad, from TN. I just recently won the HRT solo Round 2 transformation contest on BB.com. I'm 30 years old. I've been lifting since 2001, but didn't get in to bodybuilding until college in 06. I've done few shows but I wasn't to successful but it was defiantly a learning experience. Now that I have completed the HRT transformation, I believe I have found that missing link into my journey as a Bodybuilder. So basically, HRT changed my life!!! I look forward to hearing and talking with all the animals on the FORVM!

6'2" 215, 38, Oviedo Florida....Ledge is a 14 year vet of the automotive repair world and has been with out a job for about 3 months. But no worries he has a part time business that is now full time as a screen printer/artist/and graphic designer for the screen printing and sign industry. He is really glad to be out of the automotive world, one of the most life sucking thankless jobs on the planet as far as the dealership techs go. Anyways Ledge is starting all over again in his quest for a bigger, badder Ledge. Now that he has more time, he can spend more time with his family, and his quest. He used to lift for several years but nothing serous just trying to keep in shape in which turned into a pretty bad case of bursitis in his right shoulder in which he had to lay off the training for a few years. But its back on, got the green light from the doctor and he well start training again slow at first and the full throttle in a month. He loves the forum and the products of animal.

22 from outside Detroit. Work in a big ER in the D as a EMT, going to nursing school. Got a great girlfriend that has my back always. Started lifting in high school but just in the past year took nutrition and lifting seriously. I got a tall skinny frame naturally (6'3) so the fork is my friend and my enemy. Right now about the second week of serious bulking I'm a measley 190, it's a start. Chicken and rice is my best friend. I eat and eat till I'm sick then im eating more. I've taken all the supp.'s under the sun but my eating was the key in my defeat. Now I see nothing stopping me, my life is busy but the food and the iron are king. I'm here because I've been a fan of what being a animal is about...sucking it the fuck up and getting it done. The pain is my friend. The gains are slow for me but this is a long journey and it's gonna feel like shit and it's going to make me want to give in but I wont.

The iron tells me the truth and the pain is my dues I have to pay to the iron.

I appreciate a chance to be apart this brotherhood it's a privilege thank you.

My goal has been to drop weight and become a slim build. I was 243 lb now im 190 lb. I thought that was exactly what I wanted now I realize I want to get big and pack on to solid muscle. Really looking for good advice from anyone that can help the rookie with proper dieting , workouts, and supplementation since I've been all natural . My real name is Rob I live just outside of Detroit I am Ex-Military and I currently work for the V.A. in Detroit. I have been lifting and working out my whole life in between having a chronic illness called familial mediterranean fever and I also got a little thing called Lyme disease while I was in the service. But enough whining about the little shit in life yeah it sucks but every time I fall I get right back up and go back to the iron I am 43 weigh in at 237 #'s with 6% BF I am currently working out at Metro Family Fitness. If anyone wants to get together and lift I am in! Warning: I don't talk much, I lift heavy and hard and can be extremely antisocial in the gym. Hope I can contribute in any way and I hope to learn from you all.

Hello, I'm Tyna.. I have 139Lbs and 5'3. I bought the Animal cuts to loose some body fat and muscle definition but I have some question about its use:
First of all my goal is to loose 15 lbs , is it possible with one cycle animal cuts?

By the way, I heard some people saying that people under 176lbs(my case) should take only one pack a day but in the can cames like this :
''Take 2 pack a day for 3 straight weeks. 1 pack on waking and other 4-6 hours later. Follow a 3 weeks on,1 week off cycle. After the week off, you can run it again.''

If I take only 1 pack a day it would work for me? and if I do that, should I take the pack in the mornig after wake up or before training?
P.S: I always train at 6:00Pm.

Thanks!!

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum. Im looking to meet some new people and help any one that I can, even learn some things myself. I'm 25 years old I live in Toronto Canada. I have recently just competed at our Provincials here in Canada and now I am qualified to do the Canadian Nationals next year. I have set a goal to earn a Pro Card by the time I am 28 years old. I know I have set the bar high but if u have a dream and a plan to get there I think anything is possible. To help me reach my goals I've been working with George Farah to help me with my nutrition/supplements and Mike Van Wyck "Wycked" are helping me bring up my lagging bodypart (back).... as always I have my good friend and trainig partner Frank McGrath "Wrath" pushing me day in and day out. I would post a couple of pictures but dont know how to lol. Look forward to getting to know u guys.

I've been lifting seriously for about just over a year and a half and have got pretty good results, mainly from applying knowledge i've aquired from this brilliant site. Before i stepped into the game i had a poisonous group of friends who did absolutely nothing for my life,as soon as i started to get serious with training i found that not only was i in a completely positive environment but that i got positive results physically as well as mentally, the friends i left behind are still doing the same thing infecting those around them.I've become a personal trainer and am pursuing bodybuilding. Now i feel that there is no place i'd rather be than in the gym training my ass off or any other place for that matter that improves my mental and physical capacity.Looking forward to learning more about the sport and contributing to the forum.Peace

Hey this is Joseph, I got into weight lifting on the 16th of April 2012, huge day for me it's like an anniversary, this is day where i decided that enough is enough and I'm gonna start living the way I want and improve myself physically and mentally. Before i was about 90kg and got into HIIT and loved the results i got dropped down to 80 kg, but it wasn't enough I wanted to see bulging muscles and deep cuts so I got myself a membership in a gym and got hooked from the first day. Now I'm eating clean, lifting heavier each week and seeing results, slow results but they're there. My goal is to transform my body completely, I still have a good amount of fat on that i want to lose and gain some rock hard muscles and i hope with this forum and this site I will go beyond my goals and help others do the same.

Hey yall. TokenAzn here from the DFW in Texas. I've been on this site browsing the forums and getting some good info for awhile now so I thought I'd join. I've been training for about 4 years now. I really got motivated by my old roommate who was a trainer. I knew him for awhile before we moved in and he was a real skinny guy, but then I noticed he was packing on muscle and getting really fit. I wanted to do the same. I learned about diet, training, and resting and I started to change as well.

I'm not a bodybuilder. I just want an overall healthy life and well...to look good lol. I quote Deion Sanders, " If you look good, you feel good. And if you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good. And if they pay good, you eat good. You eat good, you live good. And if you live good, you die good."

Hey ya'll...

Well, to put it easy I've spent a lot of time being the little guy. At 5'5" and 98lbs...justifiably so.

I ran all though middle school and high school, with some pretty good times, but never anything overly impressive. I tried my hand at wrestling, too...we'll just not talk about those days. After years of general mediocrity in athletics, I decided I wanted a change. Something that would pit me against the one who seemed to always be kicking my ass. The little rat-bastard starting back at me in the mirror.

So, I shifted my focus the summertime of 2009. My starting weigh-in showed me at 97.8lbs, and my starting lifts struggled in agony to just get the bar up by itself.

Today, I walk around at 150lbs, and still growing. I walk by people I've known for years, and they don't recognize me. It's a beautiful thing.

Came here hoping to find some more people to work with, and maybe pick up some new tricks to push myself a little bit further.

If anybody's ever floating around the Virginia Beach/Norfolk/Suffolk area, give me a holler sometime.

Hello fellow animals, my name is Zach, I am 23, and I currently reside in Philadelphia, PA. I am a member of Fit Gym, which is an Animal Approved Gym, and has hosted an ABC in the past. I just moved here to Philly from Massachusetts, and I have been lifting for 1 year now. I have always been an athlete, 3 sports in highschool for all 4 years, and then recruited for Division 1 rowing in college which I did at Syracuse University. Until August 2011 I had never really put any time into lifting weights, or following a nutrition plan. That all changed once I decided to go down a road of self-improvement, I wasn't happy with my body image, how I felt, or how I carried myself. I had graduated in 2010, and not done much for my fitness since 2008 when an injury ended my rowing career. I started lifting in August 2011 and doing HIIT cardio every other day. I work out on average 6 times per week. Currently I am starting my first cutting cycle. That's how I came upon Animal's line of products. I picked up Pak, Stak, M-Stak, and Cuts, to go along with my standard Whey, Fish Oil, Joint Support, Magnesium, and Casein. I have to say I am impressed so far with Animal's products, and even more impressed with this community. I'm proud to call myself a member here now, and I hope to contribute what I have, as well as learn from all of you. Thanks for having me.

Few things about myself... My name is Kenny, and I currently live in the central valley of California (we have LOTS of: cows, allergies, heat, and empty space...). Started lifting over a year ago and have been stuck on it since! Found it hard to motivate myself before this, however a few incidents with my Dad and the school I'm currently enrolled in, helped push me to keep my head up :). Avid concert go'er (Deftones, Tool, UG rap...etc), I LOVE to collect concert posters. And...thats about it for now! Time to check out the rest of these forums!

My name is Rudy, I'm 24 and I've been lifting for 4 years, started at 140 and built myself to a solid 210 and then stupidly let myself get to 236.fat. I've dropped to 195 and headed to 180 before I start a clean slow bulk to 220. I plan on competing as soon as I can! Got insane love for th game. I'm a physical therapist aide in school to become a physical therapist. I plan on being as active and as helpful as I can be on here!

Pythons here. just saying hey. Im a begginer wieghtlifter @ a mtn resort gym.

Hi guys My name Is Les, Im male, 55 and live in Baltimore USA. I originally come from Eastbourne in Sussex England where I owned a fitness shop called DIAMOND PHYSIQUES for 17 years but moved here 4 years ago when got married to my american wife. Been working out since I was 29 on and off but at the age of 47 decided I was gonna do a contest in the UK. Cut to shreds at about 170lb i was doing 300lb bench press when my tendons on the left side of my chest decided to pull off the bone and that blew it totally. Took 10 months to get it re-attached then 9 months healing and physio, Went back to the gym and couldnt even lift a bar. Gutted, yes I was, tried to get back into training but my mind could not get rid of the fear factor. So I gave up.
When I came to the US my now wife persuaded me to join the gym just to stay fit and to teach her a bit of weight training. After a while I started getting the old feeling back and have now trained for the last 2 years trying to achieve my goal. Went to see my first US bodybuilding show in June and am now hooked again and am hoping to trim down in time to do a contest in October
Well thats my story guys wish me luck.

Morning from the land down under.

Im from Darwin, Australia. Im 95kg or about 200lbs at 10%bf. Finally back lifting weights after a bit of a lay off due to injuries and just being a sloth.

I'm a fire fighter but behind a desk for a few years to allow the Mrs who is a cop to get back on the road again.

Looking to gain a bit more size and get the bf a bit lower. Once those goals are reached then it is time to train for my first natural body building comp next year.

Looking forward to racking your brains for tips and tricks to help me out.

I have quite a few contacts at Westside and EFS. I also am good friends with John Welbourn (crossfitfootball.com). Additionally, I do a lot of stuff with PSM Barbell out here in Utah. Jason Gibson is the top lifter in our state, one of the best in the nation, and has been for a long time.

I got into bodybuilding training during the summer of my sophomore year in high school and I fell in love with the iron! I'm always looking for new methods to help improve my physique, and I've helped a few friends of mine find their own paths. Train hard, train smart, eat clean, and love the lifestyle.

Whats up, I am Lenny From Maryland 32 yrs old and new to the forum but have been with animal products since I was a teenager. I am 6'3" 255lbs 10% BF and been lifting since I was a teenager. I hit some life shit about a year ago and stoped lifting for a while but been hitting hard for about 7 months and here is where I am.

Squat - 365x8
Deads - 315x10 405x1
Bench - 295x6 (But it was the 5th set!)
Shoulder Press (Smith) 275x10 315x3 Amazing that my shoulders are stronger than my chest go figure.
Bent Over Barbell Row 265x12
Straight Bar Curl 145x8

My bench is a weak spot for me and I am working on it. I also have a birth defect in my back that gave me nerve damage on my left side from the lower back down to foot still pretty good numbers on deads and squats considering that!

I have been reading a lot on here gaining a lot of knowledge and it has helped me a ton.

Took interest into the type of lifting that bodybuilders do and its has been a journey since then! I'm now 20. Been training this way for about 2 years now. As far as stats go I'm 5'7 I now weigh 163. I've recently become a huge fan of the Animal way of things! I'll be asking plenty of questions in the forum about lifting and supplementation. I'm looking forward to receiving plenty of info from the Animals in the forum!

Powerbody are pretty good for Iconics. I got both my red and yellow ones from there. It's worth dropping Corporate an e-mail if you see a LE you like. Shipping's very reasonable too. You'll end up paying about the same price too.

I get corporate to ship me out shirts every now and then - shipping costs about $15, so all in all, you can order 3 shirts for around £50 (incl. shipping). Takes about 2 weeks to arrive.

C. Coronato is probably sick of me and my shopping habits by now! Haha.

Powerbody is awesome too - I usually try and order over £500 worth of stuff (e-mail them before you order and they'll give you an extra discount code) so I get 3 tubs of Torrent, Nitro, Pak, etc. and if I ever need to make up the cost then I'll throw in an Iconic or something.

Hi guys,

Found this site last week when I was searching on another bodybuilding site for motivation. I have bipolar disorder and ptsd. The short of it is I can get depressed and use that as an excuse to not get into the gym or eat right. Meds help, but they aren't perfect.

I'm openly gay/bi, though I don't make much of an issue of it at the gym. Some guys ask because I don't talk about women. I'm truthful. Not to shove it in anybodies faces, I just refuse to lie. I've lost friends/workout buddies. Their loss, obviously not my friends to begin with. A lot of ego and machismo. And I don't tolerate their jokes and bigotry lightly. *You ask me a question, I'll do some soul searching and I'll tell you the truth.*

I was Air Force 30 years ago. Put myself through University at USC Film School. Did some work in Hollywood, but sustained carpal tunnel injuries and had to have surgeries to prevent further nerve damage. I went into computer repair, which I do on and off as the work appears. Not much business sense and work has been spotty over the past ten years. I'm considered permanently disabled due to the bipolar disorder. I'm under consideration for SSDI and the VA is looking at compensation due to an event that started the whole issue back in the AF. The ptsd makes it very difficult to maintain a job, since if triggered, bad things happen. I'm working it out, but they say while controllable it never goes away.

I've started lifting in the Air Force back in 1980. Over the years, I followed what other gym-goers said: spending many hours daily in the gym. I was overtraining constantly and had know clue as to why. Then I injured my knee at work and a physical therapist guided my recovery. I learned when I started lifting again that I best recover with a 7 day rest between worked muscle groups. So on and off over the past 20 years I battled with depression and the gym. Only recently, did I learn the importance of feeding myself properly and getting rest.

Of course, by now I was up to an unhealthy 335 at 40% bodyfat! Last December, despite ongoing depressions and the resultant weeks to a month long absence from the gym, I started back with greater earnestness. I have managed to drop to 279 and 31.7% as of two days ago (8/16).

It is hard for me to set goals. If I don't have something in front of my face, I don't remember to do it. If I write it down, I don't remember to look at the list. This is from a brain injury I sustained as a kid in a car collision with a tree. There were no seat belts in the truck and the driver took a turn too quickly. The affected area was the right temporal lobe, where the brain processes goals, scheduling and the future in general. I can sorta see two weeks ahead. I can never answer where I see myself being in 5 years. I just can't process that notion. Interestingly, I lost my ability to understand the singing voice. Music came through note for note. I'm only just now beginning to understand what's being sung. Funny, how music I love turns out to have such awful lyrics! So my brain is rewiring around the damage. Maybe in time, I'll be able to answer that 5 year question.

So, I am returning yet again to the iron after a month lay off. I'm working on getting down to 225. I am hoping to drop another 20% bodyfat, 10%. And I am trying to not make any excuses any longer. It helps me to be in the gym six days a week, just getting there is most of the battle. I have been splitting my workouts into primary and secondary days for each muscle group with the intent of hitting the fibers a second time to force the use of fibers not used in the primary workout. For me, squats and leg presses and deadlifts would be primary day, then hacks, quad and ham lifts and calves would be secondary.

When I was deadlifting, a powerlifter showed me that my grip was placing the barbell too high onto my palms. He recommended hooking my fingers and dropping it lower. This is definitely helping increase my forearm/grip strength. But, I had to accept lowering the amount of weight I was lifting. At my second gym, I found the squat rack was differently designed. The powerlifter recommended grasping the barbell collars while squatting in order to get the bar off of my neck and onto my traps and shoulders. This helped me rebalance myself so that I could go deep on squats, butt below the knees. *I had busted my right elbow as a kid and the triceps tendon was partially calcified when it healed, the upshot is I cannot bend my arm as far as my left. No touching my right shoulder is possible. This means I can't bring my right in close enough on the barbell to allow it to go down on the traps. I was squatting to 90* with 315. But, now I'm able to go deep properly, I've had to drop to 135 to get proper form. I can tell you my quads and glutes and hams feel the movement much intensely now! I have to remind myself: no ego means growth!

Well, it is 6 am Sunday. I'm heading in to hit chest today.*

Any questions, feel free to ask! *

Whats up everyone, Im Pete from Memphis TN. Ive been lurking around the site for about a year or 2. I'm 20 years old and been lifting for around 3 years. I started in 2009 when I crushed 3 vertebrae during a motocross race. The physical therapy turned into weight training which later turned me into an obsessed freak. I'm very passionate about lifting, I consider myself a "powerbuilder" at this point of my life. I live by go heavy or go home. I like to move as much weight as I am capable of and still have the bodybuilder look. Im on a lifelong bulk and have never been on a cut. I'm currently 5'10 185lbs somewhere around 8% BF. Bench: 355x1 squat: 365x5 DL: 405x10 BB row: 225x12-15. My plan is to reach the professional level someday. I am on a mission and my brakes are nowhere in sight.

Overseer here.

I'm a 23 yeo guy from Sweden.
Not much to say really, been involved in diffrent sports all my life but Hockey got the best of me and i played it successfully
until a bad knee injury hit me like a brick wall two years back and I had to retire my skates.
Today i work at a insurancecompany as a salesdeveloper.

Lifting has been a part of my life since my early teens and i began to take it seriously around the same time i blew out my knee.

Stats for now.

Weight 190 lbs
Height 185 cm

Deadlift 451 Lbs (205 kg)
Squat 374 Lbs (170 kg)
Bench 253Lbs (115kg)

Not used to LBS but it should be right..

Feels like i've hit home plate here at Animal since we share the same no bullshit mentality when it comes to lifting in general.
Peace and stay strong.

Welcome to the FORVM man, glad to see you joining the group here. Sucks on the injury, I think a lot of us have had a bunch of injuries. At least you can lift and do your thing. The numbers look really solid, way ahead of where I was when I joined. Thanks for the lb conversion, I am getting more use to the KG and know its roughly double at 2.2lbs but that .2 is a tricky bastard.

Hey what's going on guys, just stoppin by to introduce myself. I'm 28 years old, was really big into lifting and dieting while I served in the Navy but haven't touched the iron in a few years. Recently had something traumatic happen in the family that opened my eyes and has set me on my path to getting back into shape and hitting the weights again. A good friend recommended these boards and says you guys know what you are doing and can really give some good advice. That's pretty much it for now. See you guys around the forums.

Iron bros, what's up?

I"m Mike, currently living in CT and big big into bodybuilding. I've been bodybuilding for about 15 years now, on and off, but mainly off. But, over the last 6 months or so, I've been hitting the gym regularly, consistently and heavy. I'm finally starting to see nice results.

I should also say that I have type I diabetes, so I'm a diabetic bodybuilder.

Anyone else here with diabetes?

Looking forward to chatting with you guys about bodybuilding and putting on some serious muscle.

Whats up guys names Chad. Im a automotive technician from Mississippi. I currently got into lifting in middle school football. Right now I am 22 I've been a Nissan technician for about 2 1/2 years now. I love my job and I love the person I've became threw training and staying positive. Always been kinda over weight until this past year when i dropped 100+lbs. Now I'm currently 180 lbs. I'm more lean and trying to build back up. I joined this forum because of motivational purposes and to just get a few pointers here and there. Also maybe meet a few cool people along the way. I work mostly 10 hour days so like most of you working out is a constant push to keep getting in the gym and making work. Thanks nice to meet all whom i come in contact with.

Welcome aboard! It's nice to have another Southern Animal around. It's very last minute, but we are having an ABC in Nashville in less than 2 weeks and you'd be more than welcome.

Whats up guys. The name is AJ. I'm from Alabama and at the University of Alabama right now. I lifted for football in high school and let myself go after high school. I joined the Air Force and went to basic back in March of 2011. Since then I cut down my weight from about 190-200 to 140 and have been hitting the gym hard for over a year now. Got my body fat to about 7% and then decided to start gaining good weight back and strength.

Whats going on guys? Names Paddy and guess what, I'm from Ireland lol but that's where the stereotype ends, I don't drink myself stupid or run in a field of 4 leaf clovers, I hit the gym, get under some weight and let the animal out of the cage. I'm also a bit of a vitamin/supplement junkie and have found the Animal range to be the holy grail of RDA's. I'll keep you guys up-to-date with my progress and look forward to making some contribution to an already great FORVM.

Mike

What's up,
I've been training about 20 years. Former kickboxer, I now compete in powerlifting, mostly in Sub Masters here in Georgia though I've ventured up to Tennessee and to Alabama a couple of times. Trying to get my bodyfat down so I can be more competitive at 198. Doing okay against my peers in bench only but I want to compete in push/pull and be strong enough to make the younger guys nervous. Immediate goal is to break the Sonlight Power Tennessee State bench record for my age/weight class this year.

Bench 350
Squat No idea, I just started doing this again. Supposed to do 300 x 3 according to my 531 template. Not stellar but I'm working on it.
DL 450 switched to sumo and working back up hoping to hit 500
Press 160 sucks I know. Approaching it the same as Squat, actually doing it instead of just doing what I like

Most proud of the seven kids I currently train in my garage gym some are mine, some just call me coach.
Hope to learn a lot from you guys.

What's up folks, nice to meet y'all. I'm Alex from Seattle. 27 y/o, 220 lbs.
I did Starting Strength last year (was 195 lbs when I started SS) and now I've been doing 5/3/1 for a couple months.
Making some good progress and setting some rep maxes, but getting kind of tired of lifting alone at 24, and I want to take my lifting to the next level.
Looking to get some training advice here and maybe start attending ABC workouts in the area. Also want to start doing PL meets at some point.
Oh, I also do BJJ (gi and no-gi) at Gracie Barra. I'm a purple belt, been training about four and a half years and competing a couple times a year.
I know there are a lot of strong dudes who post here, so I will be reading threads here with interest.

Good morning all! I've been browsing the site for a while now, decided to join about a month ago, and am just now getting around to posting. There are some really amazing people on here, great insight, great information, and I look forward to learning everything I can :) My name's Mikel. I'm from the Dayton area of Ohio and I'm 27. I'll mainly be here to learn, so I'll read a bunch, ask a bunch of questions that might seem stupid (though I live by the saying "there are no stupid questions," bc honestly if you don't ask, how can you learn?), and I may post a few things throughout the site, hopefully contributing. Hope everyone has an awesome day and I'd like to say "thank you" to all of you who serve in our military. Today is a day of remembrance.

Hey Everyone,

My name is RaisingTheBar, and that's exactly what I'm going to do, both mentally and physically. I'm 26 years old, living in San Francisco CA. I moved here 3 years ago from Cincinati OH, and while I miss the Midwest, I am loving this weather!

I used to workout a lot in High School, training for football and lacrosse, but once college and work hit I used stress and time as an excuse, letting my body and mind get lazy. From the age of 18 to 25 I went from a lean 180 to a flabby 230. 18 months ago I decided to change things around and was fortunate enough to stumble across this website a year ago. I have been hooked ever since. The members of this Forum have taught me how to eat, lift, stay mentally focused, and live a healthier, more fullfilling lifestyle. I am very grateful for that. In the past year and a half I cut from 230 to 190, then did my first bulk from 190 to 225. This summer I cut back down to 200, and am now in the middle of my second bulk, sitting on 217 and feeling great. This time around, I'm taking my bulk much more seriously, focusing on clean food and ample rest.

After a year of viewing the Forum daily, I'm joining now to keep myself accountable and contribute in anyway I can. I look forward to starting my own journey and sharing my experiences with the rest of members.

Cheers,
RaisingTheBar

Thanks! Yep, actually posts from Ben Seath and Justin Randall on another forum, and Higa's YT videos, were what led me here. Those are some seriously strong dudes.

What's up everyone. Decided to join up after the ABC crew came to my local gym in Riverdale, NJ over the weekend. I usually lift alone and use my own internal motivation to plow through workouts, but it was awesome to see such an awesome group that shares the same passion to build a better body. I was nicknamed the hit man in high school from my icehockey team as I was known to throw some big hits on open ice. It wasn't until recently that I have decided to get serious about lifting. Figured the ABC is a great place to start. I would like to jump in on the next local event to meet some people and soak up knowledge like a sponge.

Hey guys, I'm Chris from the Buffalo, NY area. Been lifting for about 8 years, but only recently decided to get serious about it. Spent 12 years in the army, buy decided to get out when my daughter was born.

Once I started hitting the gym hard, I stopped drinking as much and started eating better. I never did much research into supplements, but once I did, Universal, s name kept popping up. I decided to give em a shot and I'm hooked, and here I am.

What's up guys I'm chuck. I've been lifting for about 2.5 years. I started lifting to lose weight. Once I was down to 190 pounds I started getting serious about my lifting. Between january and march I put on over 30 pounds. I started to see myself with more muscle and a shape to my body and I couldn't get enough of it. Right now I'm in the HRT cutting competition on bodybuilding.com and I'm going to start to compete next spring.

Glad you had the chance to come out to the ABC bro. I'm right there with you, I always leave those events fired up to raise my game.

Next time make sure you come up and introduce yourself. Good to see you posting on the board.

My fellow animals.. new here out of akron, Ohio. I'm 24. Been seriously lifting again after a long time off.
Lifted in high school between football and wrestling. After that pretty much fell off between having my daughter and a BAD 3 year downward spiral. Until one day it clicked.. started hitting the weights hard again and haven't looked back since!!! Went from 135 to my curent 160 and growing( I'm 5'7" BTW). Train in my basement right now cuz its most covient with my work Nd family schdule. But I'm makin the most of it and want nothig but results out of myself. My main goal right now is size to pepare to step onstage this spring. Although with my numbers I've considered powerlifting as well. Lookin forward to some abcs too. Damn maybe I should've posted this in the my journey action ha!

My name is D-Con. I'm 28. I've been lifting on and off for years now. I'm a US Soldier. I came here and got inspired by the way I saw how Animal seperated itself from the normal companies and actually interacts with its consumers. I'm not here to become the biggest, more so to improve my strength, speed, and overall stamina and performance. I'm originally from San Diego, so Shoutout to the SoCal Animals. Currently I'm in Germany and the fact I move around alot makes it hard to join an ABC. Let alone meet others. I'm looking forward to getting to know others and getting more advice.

Hey everyone, I'm a college sophomore out at UT Arlington. I've been training for about 5 years but just started getting serious about it this past year. I've been training in boxing and just started a conditioning class among some friends. I've also been helping these guys get into weight lifting. I'm very dedicated to working out so I've pushed them hard and have them lifting heavier weights than they have ever attempted before. On top of my lifting and boxing, I've also been running the INSANITY routine. So my workouts are hard but I'm always looking for new ideas and advice to make them harder.

Peace out

I'm 31, a father of one, and been with with the same girl since high school. I consider myself old school in a lot of ways. This site has me addicted because it has that old school vibe. It isn't just the hardcore attitude, there a sense of truth here. A lot of the old school principles apply. I love that.

I'm at the age many guys are giving up the gym. I started at 29 really. Leading up to that point I had let myself turn in to a slob. I was 240lbs and 48% body fat. My doctor wanted me to start getting a physical every six months. It was bad.

Long story short, I started working out. I didn't know a damn thing and I was lucky to be getting any results. I decided to switch from the gym to resistance bands for cardio and conditioning. I injured my neck and shoulder being an idiot. (Bad form, too much resistance, and no rest time.) Back at it now and looking to build some strength.

I'm no where near the "hardcore" level you guys are. This site is making me hungry to try though. I'm already thinking of starting on Animal Training 1 in three weeks. The main thing holding me back is the disgrace of being a 31 year old noob. Seeing the pictures and reading the logs on here have me itching to get going.

I'm hoping to learn a lot here, and hoping you'll forgive any unintentional idiocy on my part.

Sup fellas, figured I should give my little intro here as well. I am 34, father of two from the great pacific northwest. I have been training for about 6 years now, starting out around 6'2" @ 175lbs - and through learning to feed correctly and working hard I am now sitting at 245lbs. I just recently started my first cut, I have managed to stay fairly lean mostly because of my metabolism throughout all this growth but I got stuck around 255lbs so I felt going into a deficit for awhile will help me boost up towards 300.

I train mainly for strength, I enjoy powerlifting and smashing some PRs - but at the same time I appreciate looking clean and not covered in cheeseburgers. Personally a good diet has been paramount for me in the second half of my journey.

I am a forum owner myself - I am not here to promote as that is always frowned upon, just mainly interested in getting together with my local ABC. I know a few of the guys in the area who regularly attend, just thought I would make it official with an account here. Anyways, I will be around here and there - will contribute where I can and look forward to learning more.

Thanks guys!

Head up to the top and dig through the training, diet, and livin' tabs beside where it says packs. They have a ton of great articles up there. They even have one that applies directly to eating and training on rotating shifts.

I'd like to introduce myself, simple. Names Pete. Had a rough run in with drugs that I was battling my whole life since 16/17. I'll be 25 this December. I recently went to intensive inpatient rehab for benzos and opiates along with alcohol. They weighed me in at a deathly weight of 117 pounds and keep in mind, I'm 6 foot even (disgusting I know...even more disgusted with myself on getting to that point. While in rehab, the men were forced to spend 45 minutes in the gym each day and instantly, I was hooked. I've only been out for 2 and a half months and about 3 months lifting and I have to give a huge THANK YOU! To all people that created Animal products...the most I've ever weighed was 135 at my healthiest. Thanks to Animal Stak along with Animal Pump, hard training at my local gym and a strict diet, I've already put on 30 pounds since I've been out and it seems like I live for this and think about training and breath it all the time now like an addiction (But for once its the most positive and gratifying addiction ever). I'll end my long rant now to give everyone a break, but bottom line, I'm definitely and ectomorph which always frustrated me but I never did a damn thing about it. Now when I hit the gym, I don't aim to just rip my muscles......I AIM TO RIP MY ENTIRE GENE POOL! >=(

What's up everyone. I am 20 years old, 6'0", and around 180 lbs. I have been training for about a year and a half now and have seen some pretty decent results. I started off at 165 lbs, totally skinny fat. I began training hard and packed on 20 pounds, reaching my highest weight so far of 185 last school year. However, I was just dicking around with my diet the whole time so I have had some substantial fat gain as well. I went on a quick mini-cut near the end of this summer before the school year started. It wasn't anything too substantial, really just practiced getting my diet right and shedding some of the body fat I was uncomfortable having.

Just under a week ago, I received my Animal M-Stak. My first supplement made by Animal! This thing seriously lives up to the hype. On my legs day, I leg pressed 60 lbs heavier than I ever have before! My previous max was 460 for 5 reps. The other day I did 520 for 10 reps! The strength and energy I feel is incredible. My goal right now is to do a proper bulk while watching my nutrition for the rest of the time I am on the M-Stak and then do a full cut to get down to ~8% body fat.

My biggest issue is nutrition. I train hard and consistently but eat like crap. The progress I have made is nowhere near where it should be after 1.5 years of training. No more of that! I want to see some real gains! The biggest goal I have is to get my nutrition right and be strict about it.

Yo guys, new guy from Jersey. Loved this sport for two years now. The feeling you get just pumping out the reps is better than anything. I've always followed Animal products and knew they were one of the best if not the best in the business, but never actually purchased anything from them. Just picked up M-Stak and started my cycle yesterday. Gonna be doing a log on it, trying to gain about 10 pounds on can 1 and got another can coming soon which il start around Halloween, where I'm looking to gain atleast another 5 pounds.

Im from Nova Scotia but live in Montreal now. I did some strong man competitions about 6 years ago and used to compete in the Scottish Heavy Events....thats all behind me now. I am a bodybuilder that just so happens to be pretty strong. I'm not built for strongman...I got little joints and got a lot of aches and pains from those comps.

Uncle Fester is back in the house. I was a member for a long time and got side tracked for a bit. No, I didn't quit training. Actually I haven't missed a workout in 6 years. I guess I may be one of the older guys in here at 48. I still lift heavy and hard and will never change after 25 years of training.

Yea I know you're strong...yeah I see how much you can bench...let's see if you can do it when you're my age....'cause I can.....

Train Hard - Train Strong - Train Hardcore

What's up,
I've been training about 20 years.

Welcome to the group, this is a great place to learn. I know everyone here has really helped me step up my game and without them I don't know where I would be. Nice starting numbers, I really suck at the bench and it is something I am working on. Excited to see and follow your journey!

Wassup guys, reachin out from Gulfport Ms, I am 23 years old and pretty much just gettin into this scene more seriously. Been workin out on and off for years but never consistent until now time to change. Was refered her by "Guns" been like a father to me and a great motivator. I am young so any advice/suggestions will be welcome. Cant wait to learn what u guys here are ready to teach.

I am not sure how to comment on this one if you know guns. He likes to stalk me on the forums...jealousy mostly. LOL If he referred you then you are def a good dude, lots of stuff going on here and lots of stuff to learn. There is on doubt in my mind you can't be the best without being on the FORVM.

You should check out Funky, he does a lot of JJ work and I know that the is strong as f*ck so he would be a good person to follow if you wanted to combine both sports. Welcome to the group, looking forward to following your journey.

Welcome to the group, I am from Columbus. Met up w/ a lot of good dudes and dudettes at the Powerstation a couple weeks or a month ago out in Middletown. Ohio is a great place for Animals. You looking to make it out to the Arnold this year?

What's up everyone, thanks for having me. I was out of the gym for about six months due to shoulder surgery I had earlier this year, and have spent the past few months getting back at it. I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys.

What happened w/ your shoulder? I ended up w/ a plate and 7 or 9 screws in mine due to a broken collarbone and dislocated shoulder. I know most of us here have been hurt so I am glad to seeing you getting back at it.

Welcome to the forum my man, great job on the bulks and what not. What kind of diet do you follow to bulk up? Also, I know we have a lot of members from ohio on here. You coming up to the Arnold?

hey guys my name is Irving. I am on the Universal forum as well. Ive "worked out" for a couple of years now but not until this January, I started seriously training and eating correctly. I am from Houston Texas and currently lift at a brand new gym in League City called the Iron Den. This place is legit and I am happy there is still some hardcore gyms coming around. Anyhow I am glad to be here and am looking foward to all the new things I will learn and the friends I will make along this journey. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the Animals, start up a journey and let us follow along. ONce you make the commitment you just have to make it happen. There is a lot of knowledge on this site and I look forward to watching you grow.

The ABC is an incredible thing and I always hit a PR when I go. The Animal group is a brotherhood and we treat it as such. Always accepting members, start up a journey and let us follow along.

First of all thanks for your service, I appreciate everything you guys do. Even more so since I work for the DoD and we support your communications. I am just now realizing that the diet is 99% of it, maybe more. I look forward to following your journey. How old is your daughter? I currently have a 4 year old girl and a 1 year old boy.

Aweosme, Rage is a great guy to follow and the HRT program looks amazing. I had MD show it to me a thte last ABC and one of these days I want to try it out. I don't really want to cut right now so I passed on this comp. Keep us updated, post up a journey and welcome aboard.

Damn, all kinds of Ohio boys on here. I love it! We all go through those spirals man, after high school I was pretty bad until I was about 24 then I got down to about 225 and got married had a kid and hit 300lbs lol. It certainly was a dirty bulk with no gym time so i had man boobs and was just fat. I am glad you came on here and are putting the work in. The guys on here can get you show ready or at least help you. Start up a journey and let us follow along.

First off, thank you for your service. I respect what you do and wish I could join. It just didn't work out for me, I ended up with an injury that prevents me from running more than a mile or 2 at a time. Animal is an amazing companies and not only do they have superior products the pro athletes they support actually talk with us normal folk. They come out to ABC's and hell you can even lift w/ these monsters. There is not another company out there that does what they do. Welcome to the brotherhood.

Peace out

How is insanity? My wife wanted to start doing it to help cut down a bit from the baby. I am glad you made it out here, this is a great place to be. Lots of information so make sure to read up on it all. I dabbled in boxing and krav maga a while back, takes some crazy amounts of conditioning.

I told you I would get to everyone, if I missed you I apologize. Lots of new people, which is a great thing.

I am 32 and started here hardcore last September. I was an athlete way back in the day but I didnt start lifting heavy again until I was 31. When I say again I got some decent numbers back when I was 24 or 25 (which I double now). I started a journey here, had some followers and asked and annoyingly large number of questions. Now I would consider myself above average and I am in the best shape of my life. There are dudes here in the mid to upper 40s that blow me out of the water. The hardcore thing is just a word, we like those that are dedicated. Go in to the gym and put it down, no excuses. WE have every flavor on this forum. Welcome aboard, create a journey and follow ours. Welcome to the brotherhood.

Welcome aboard, looking forward to see you start up a journey and help out. It looks lik eyou have a lot of knowledge in the field already. I enjoy powerlifting and strongman but more of a mix of both. Hope to see you around. Welcome to the brotherhood man.

Hey guys, I'm 22 from Liverpool, England. Started training about 2 months ago. Really getting into it now.
Just bought AnimalPak cuts. Starting them tomorrow.

Any advice on when to take them, when to eat, what to eat & when to workout?

I also do shift work including nights and was wondering would that have an effect ?

Thanks

Martin

Create a journey and look around the forum, I bet this has already been asked. I think the bottle has some suggestions on when to take it. The diet and training is more of something you have to figure out based on your level, bodyfat and schedule. Either way, I bet there are some who will help you out on here. Welcome to the brotherhood man.

=P
Hobbies: Guitarist and drummer...all around music producer and music engineer still on a novice level.

Glad you made it through your addiction, the gym is a great place to let it all go and you can focus your anger and anxiety in to the weights. I played music for a long time so I know how it is out there, and how easy it is to fall in to it all. I am glad you are beating it. If you ever need someone to chat w/ let me know. I played violin, viola, guitar and bass. I want to play drums and once my house is finished I hope to get a drum set. What progs do you use for music production? What exactly is music engineering? And welcome to the brotherhood, we are here to help everyone out.

Hey guys , I live in upstate NY and lift in Perth . For work I am a HVAC tech . I have been lifting for about 9 years now , compete in local strongman competition and power lifting meets . Look forward to getting to know you guys and be part of the community. Currently weigh in at 210lbs at 6'1.

Awesome, another strongman. What are your lifts at? I just switched to strongman about a month and a half ago. I am really enjoying it, it is a lot harder than it looks thats for damn sure. Welcome aboard and to the brotherhood here at Animal.

Whats up fellas, im 19 and live in upstate NY and attending college at FMCC full time. ive only been lifting serious for about 6 months so im new to the game but its been a good ride so far. i did p90x before i realized i needed to lift heavy iron. i lift in Perth and am planning on doing my first show in the summer of 2013. Also planning on doing some push/pull events locally. I hope to get to know everyone here and learn alot. my current stats are 186 at 5 11. Alright guys, peace out

Create a journey and let us follow along, looks like you are headed in the right direction. I look forward to watching you grow. Lots of good information on this site and lots of good people to help you out. Welcome aboard.

Nutrition is where its at, I eat like shit and I know that is what holds me back. I am fixing it now and I can't wait to see the results. Glad you got to try some animal product, all of their shit does what it says and is amazing. Most of us here use primarily animal products as our supplements. Welcome aboard and start up a journey, looking forward to following along.

What's up fellas, my name is Armen I'm 16 years old and currently a junior in highschool. I started lifting weights because I saw I was in bad shape and wanted to get well built. I've been lifting weights for a little over a year and want to do it for the rest of my life. I have passion for the game!

Welcome to the sport, you started early which is something I wish I did. Create a journey and you will get the help you need. Welcome aboard.

Animal is more than a supplement company to most of us, they treat us right and interact w/ us. This is on top of being the best company out there in my eyes. I look forward to seeing you grow, welcome aboard.

Whats up fellas, been a member for a lil while, been to a few of the ABC in Philly/Nj area, but never made it official by posting on here. Name is Jon 28 y/o, former decorated offensive lineman. I have been around the iron as long as I can remember. Majority of my past training has always been geared to my performance on the field but the past year since I am no longer playing has been training more for strength and changing my body. Right now im sitting around 292 at 6'5. But I've been getting itchy wanting to find a purpose to train other than challenging myself. So I am currently looking to getting into the Strongman World. Looking forward to another path on this long Journey.

I am 6'5" about 285 right now, although I am kind of flabby lol. I just started strongman about a month or so ago. I look forward to following along man, def curious to see how crazy strong you are. Welcome aboard.

Whats up fellas,

Name is Mike Johnson, been lifting for 14 years. I've done a lot from bodybuilding to strongman to powerlifting and now back to bodybuilding.
I won my IFBB Pro card by winning the overall at the 2011 Canadian Nationals.
I'm 31, 5'10" a lean 245lbs.
I'm married with a 2 year old daughter.
I did 7 years in the military, 6 years University (Engineering diploma & Kinesiology degree) and I am a Level 2 qualified firefighter currently in the application process for the city of Ottawa.

I will be making my pro debut at the 2013 NY Pro.

Welcome to the group, grats on the pro card. Lots of props for that for sure. Thanks for your service with the military as well.I was looking to do some volunteer firefighter work once I move. I am really looking forward to following along your journey, looks like someone I could learn off of for sure.

Welcome back, going heavy and strong at 48 is what keeps me motivated man. I thought I started late at 31 but the guys here made me realize I can still get my goals. Love it man, welcome aboard. (again)

My name is Bryan Ehlers, I'm 18 years old and have been training since I was 13 but only seriously for about the last two years. I go to high school and I'm on the football team as well as the school Olympic Style Weightlifting team during the winter. I love to cook and love to eat. I've been using 5/3/1 since June 2012 and have seen crazy results from it!

Welcome to the group man, 531 is a great program. Looking forward to seeing your journey.

And I think I hit everyone

I assume everyone joined this forum after starting to use an Animal product...can we all agree that using these supplements assures us that we will reach our goals? I've used supplements for years now, and idk what it is about seeing the Animal can on my desk, but I just know that by the time that thing is empty I know I will have reached where I wanna be.

Yeah, I ended up here after winning a large can of Pak. Then I started reading G Diesel's stuff in the Your Journey booklet. I was sold on the attitude and the atmosphere. I know it is about marketing in many ways. The difference is they market reality. They don't sugar coat it and they don't lie to you. They tell you it is a hard journey and that the supplements aren't magic.

I kind of get the same feeling though. When I see that can of Pak or put on my Animal shirt there is instant motivation. For me the shirt is more motivation than the can of Pak. Every time I put that shirt on I feel like I have to earn it. Even if somebody doesn't know what Animal is, they know what you're trying to say. You either earn the name on your chest or wear the title of fake. There is no choice really.

hey fellas,

been a long time fan and huge avid supporter of animal pak, i live to be an Animal. Coming out of santa barbara california, im 23 years old, about 5'10, 180 (and gaining) around 7-8 percent BF, which is easy to maintain thanks to my stupid fuckin skinny ectomorph genetics, and ive been training for the past 5 years minus august 2010-august 2011 where i had to take time off due to a back injury. I am now back in full swing, fully recovered and training like a fuckin madman. Ive been consistently dieting for the past year and just last month did my first show in Venice Beach. Left me hungry for more. Got another planned for april 2013. Tryin to put on as much size as possible over the next four months before I have to start depleting and cutting. My goal is to go national within a year and by december 2014 be at 235. Very excited to finally be here on the FORVM, i know there is a lot of good knowledge and feedback to be had, and im always open to learning new shit and expanding my knowledge.

Also wanted to mention i began Rage's HRT two weeks ago and will be starting week three tomorrow. It is kicking my ass all over the gym, i love it. Although my training partner bitched out on me on fridays session because he 'hurt his shoulder' from a chick sleepin on it. I told him not to be a bitch and he better be back in it with me on monday otherwise ill have to transition to HRT Solo. (which by the way i got a hell of a pump from when i did chest/tris/calves on friday.) Amazing what that slow five second negative will do to ya.

Welcome, MM. Santa Barbara is a sweet place to live. Be sure to drop Rage a line here on the FORVM...

We all came for diff reasons but the kind of impact we each make, well, that's on us... Lookin forward to ur contributions man.

Not always brotha, but you made it so welcome. Remember, that can on ur desk tell me ya take trainin seriously. But at the end of the day, how hard ya hit the iron, how dedicated you use the knife/fork will determine ur success ultimately... Good luck.

Yo Fellas,
Uncle Fester is back in the house.

Uncle Fester

Here, age dont matter. Doesnt show up in posts. But I think its safe to say, ur dedication always will. Good to have ya aboard.

What up everyone,

Im Stephen from Texas. I am on a quest to change everything from the way I eat to the way I look. I played sports and worked out most of my life but now its time to get serious and make a change for the better. I have had a couple of injuries recently and needless to say I have packed on a few pounds. Its time to push my self further I ever have before.

A little about me, I work in the public service sector, I hunt, fish, and golf in my off time (which there isnt a whole lot of).

Looking forward to being a part of this FORVM and reaching goals.

Exactly. I feel like I have to earn the Animal label. I don't even consider myself there yet...but I'll be god damned before I give up trying.

Hey everyone! My name is Simon, I'm not an expert body builder nor looking to get big, but I'm looking forward for a healthy lifestyle with lean body. Currently I stand about 5'6 - 5'7 at 147 and goal is to be 135 with 10% body fat. I'm new to this product Animal Pak and its my first day taking it. So far so good. I live in Satellite Beach, FL. I ride a 2012 Honda CBR600RR. I enjoy working out a lot as I am preparing to be fit before I enlist to the military.

I have been lifting since i was in 7th grade. I got into lifting mainly because of sports. I played sports all the way from the age of 6 until I graduated college. Now I turn to the weights to keep active when I am not working and coaching football. I've been using AnimalPak for a couple of months now and just recently started taking the Flex and am currently in the middle of a container of Rage. The products are amazing, great results and I feel like I am getting my money's worth. 110% satisfied. I stumbled into here after reading the many articles posted on the site. Finally, I signed up figuring I should use the plethora of information on here to my advantage. Looking forward to learning new things and hopefully meeting some of you at an ABC meeting in the future.

Hey everyone, my name is Jeremy. I'm 21 years old and a student at Buff State College for Mechanical Engineering Technology. I've been lifting consistently since June 2012. I started off on 5/3/1, and ran about 6 cycles at an accelerated rate. I felt like I could be increasing the weight faster than 5/3/1 prescribes, so I switched to Bill Starr's 5x5, where I'm currently on week 2. My body weight has already increased from 145 to 175 since June, and it's still going up. My current goals are to compete in powerlifting, and also achieve a 300 bench, 400 squat, 500 deadlift. I'm glad to be a part of the forum, and look forward to learning from those much stronger and more experienced than myself, and hopefully contribute in some areas in the future.

Hey everyone,

John from Hampton Roads, VA. Glad to be here. I've been lifting weights on and off for 14 yrs.

A little background; I did 9 1/2 years on active duty in the Navy. Got off active duty and thought I was getting an awesome paying job with the government. Saw my first paycheck and enlisted in the Navy reserves, I have mobilized once and have a feeling my number is about up again. While on active duty, I kept my weight at about 170 to 175. When I got off active duty and stopped working out my weight ballooned up to 250 and I don't even want to think about what my BF% was (probably about 35%). I am back to 200lbs skinny fat.

I have decided it is time to change my lifestyle and be a good example for my kids. This is my first step and I hope that it will keep me honest and on track. With my family life, finding time to work out regularly is really hard. I work full time, got to school full time. My wife works full time and has a part time job. I have three school aged kids who are all in afterschool activities so I am usually running around till about 8 at night.

I just started HRT-Solo and finished week 2 yesterday I love it. Forgot how much I love lifting weights. I have had to modify it so that it fits into my schedule.

Hey all!

I'm making a couple transitions in my life right now, a few of which guided me to this forum.

I've always taken animal pak, since I was 15 and trained in MMA as a 125 lb fighter (with minimal cutting as well, lol!)

I was 130, maybe 135 throughout HS and into college. I've always played sports for fun, and loved exercise.

I recently graduated from Colby-Sawyer college (at 150 lbs, mostly just a little tubby-ness from eating/drinking a bit too much but keeping very active hiking, mountain biking, etc.)

I was 5'9 150 lbs, 12=13% BF, which for me is actually pretty muscular if you look back at me in HS :P

I graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology, and I am currently studying to take my NASM PES and CES (performance enhancement specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist certifications)

I never really committed to weight training apart from poorly-instructed lifting to prevent injury. I have form and everything down relatively well considering, but have never had a proper progression set up. Now, armed with my degree, I have designed a plan for myself that will allow me to finally lift correctly.

I began power lifting about 8 months ago, and I am about 185 lbs right now. I am bulking to 190, a 40 lb bulk, then cutting down to ~170 before continuing a slow bulk from there on.

I will be creating a journey here, as I believe it will only be appropriate. I hope to contribute my knowledge from a scientific standpoint to the more experienced individuals here, and learn on my way as well.

Time to finally become a real animal!

My names Sawyer. My gf tends to call me Dean as an inside joke. Thus the name of my account. I'm 19. But a tad ahead of the game. Began lifting at 14. Started out powerlifting. Always loved this site, but I never joined till now. By 15 I squatted reps into the 400s, and benched to 365. So stats were not to bad. But taken a few spins since then. Bodybuilt, then did a bit of the crossfitting. So I have more experience than most my age, and know what I'm doing. But its always nice to learn some new things.
Currently finishing up my last year in college in Exercise Science with a specialty in Strength and Conditioning in North Carolina. So any get togethers around the west of NC, I'll be interested in. Becoming a firefighter soon also.
But all that to say I have gotten a new interest in Strongman lifting. Any help there would be magnificent, as I'm new to it. Not the biggest kid on the block, but much stronger than I look. So please give me some help here, as this is the one corner of the fitness world I am not experienced in. I lift in a gym with all the hardcore shit needed. Yoke, Viking press, Olympic platforms, Tires up to 1200lbs, Atlas stones into the 400lbs with all 4 heights to lift to, kegs, and lastly, some farmers walks. (And even cooler, the full size squat machine type in the strongman games, except homemade added deadlift part on it). Only thing I'm missing at this point is a log lift, bar jack, and frame deadlift. So, any help on building any of those rather than buying would be appreciated. But workout routines would be appreciated, and any tricks to the game. Scottish Highland games too. As I have all their equipment also. So help needed.

My fellow animals.. new here out of akron, Ohio. I'm 24. Been seriously lifting again after a long time off.

Akron and the great state of Ohio, eh? Good luck brotha and pay attention here... http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?39655-Circle-this-date

Welcome... ABCs are a great way to get into the Animal for the first time.

Love to cook and eat? And train? You will grow brotha, no doubt about it...

Gday all,
My names bob, And i'm from Melbourne Australia. I started weight lifting about 3 years ago. I started because i got injuyed in my previous line of work.
Part of my rehab the Physio told me to goto gym to lose weight to add my recovery. at the time i couldn't do alot heavy weight try on lower body by due to injuy, but started working the upper body with the basic workout the gym set up for me, VERY basic, the next day i would be swimming and physio's programme, Now at time i have no knowledge about nutrition and supplements, I was getting good results in muscle mass and the drop in body fat.

I Started to really get hooked on working out, like it was a drug. so after i was giving the ok to start weight traing for my lower body, i started to really get even better gains, again still hadn't really looked at my nutrition, nor looking at how much differance perfect form can make to muscle mass, all this my train was mainly machine weights.

So then, i guess is where my first real hurdle came in, i went to a supplements store to ask some question, and i told the guy what i had been doing and he pretty much told me to cut out CARBs, and that didn't really tell me much then sold me some Protein! and that's when i fell apart, as i did what the guy said, started to cut out carbs as much as possible, but i'd fucked me up hard, had no energy nor power while i was in gym, then in general. ( still love to go back an punch that dick).

So i started to chat with a guy that worked out alot at my gym and he gave best advise i still every had.
1 everybody's body is differant and gotta find what works for me.
2 youtub,
3 Bodybuilding.com
And so from there i started to just learn everything i can to help ME and improve ME.

I love read articles and input that information to use ONE day.

i came across universal nutrition a little while ago through my supp guy, who got me to start on Animal pak, and from there i progressed to using just the foundation paks, Pak, Omega, Flex, Pump and nitro.

I joined animal forum, because i started by reading animal user guide... Which i have read front to back, and loved it. and then started reading differant article on here.
I really enjoy the articles by Machine, Ox, and G diesel.

i do plan to contibute and follow the forum as much possible,

So there it is................

WOW that was a bit longer than i planned.

10-26-12, 11:33 pm
Hi all! I'm VANCLEAVE and I'm in Washington State, Tacoma to be exact. I've been lifting for almost 8 years now and have been just working out to stay healthy but trying to add size on too (without much success I feel). For the longest time, being 5'8", I've peaked at 155 lbs until I went to Iraq in 09 when I got up to about 163 lbs, and since then I've stayed in that window, UNTIL NOW! :)

I've started to do my homework and started to be a lot more serious because I really do want to get huge and lift freaky heavy heights. I feel I am strong at my size now but I would like to get a lot bigger. Right now with my new set up started about one month ago, I'm at 169.5 lbs and I can see the strength/size gains! So I'm super motivated!

I work in the sheriff's department so staying healthy is a big part of my life, but I just want to take it to the next level. Among my peers, I am in the top 5% easy for health and lb-for-lb strength, but I feel I need more, so I've come to ANIMAL for the extra help!

I'm looking into ABC whenever we have something local and I would love to meet new people to either work out with or get our grub on, so I'm looking forward to the possibilities of the site and FORVMN! If anyone is in the 253 area, let me know! I'll be in the Seattle side of the site as well so look me up!

World Eater,

Good to know that there are also Dutch people on this forum; Fantastic!!
At the moment i'm struggling with an elbow injury; sustained after a "false start" i'd like to say. I guess i made a big mistake by taking on TOO MUCH weight (NOT smart after a seventeen year layoff!!).
At the moment i am looking for a good gym here (the city of Zoetermeer). There are quite a few, but not all of them are my "cup of tea" so to speak.
As i am writing this, i have made up my mind about the gym i will join...............

You are a powerlifter?? There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but i'm more into bodybuilding, no offense intended; although powerlifting training WAS a part of my workouts and it has served me VERY WELL.

Take care and hope to hear from you soon. (en bedankt voor het welkomstwoord!!)

Yeah - there used to be a couple more but it seems they've disappeared. Wouldn't be able to help you out finding a proper gym over there, have you tried the dutchbodybuilding.com forums?

I only started lifting in 2011 so I'm pretty new but I use Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 powerlifting routine with acessory aimed towards hypertrophy - a bit of both you could say, with more focus on strenght.

I'll send you a PM sometime soon, might be easier than talking English in this thread haha.

It's awesome to have another Tennessee Animal onboard. If we can get a few more we can start having some ABC events more often.

What's up fellas? Name's Devin, I'm from north central PA. I'm about 6' 200 pounds. I have been in the game now for about 4 years, started lifting seriously here a few months back when my lady friend said I may look good with a few extra lbs of muscle. Anyway that's about all I got for now, oh wait.. if ya like sports hit me up since i'm a huge sports junkie!

Gents,

DieselpoweredBear, from The Netherlands.
46 years young; have been in the world of bodybuilding for about six years, then................. things started changing rapidly: met my wife...... and so on and so forth.........
To keep a long story short: back in the game again, and this time until i f*****g well die i'm sure!!
Hoping to make lots of friends here, and eager to learn everything there is to know about this wonderful sport!

Cheers,

DPB

Gday all,
My names bob, And i'm from Melbourne Australia.

Hi guys.

I'm 21years old, iranian roots but I'm born in Sweden and now live and work in Norway. Been lifting/doing mma since I was 16 but I'm mainly lifting and the last 4 months I've taken it really serious and I'm here to break a few barriers and take this to the next level. I've read alot on this forum before becoming a member and I like the atmoshere so nice to meet everyone!

Hi Guys,

I'm Ian and I am from the good old UK, I am 24 and have been lifting for around two years.

My aims, well I was always the fat guy out of my friends so I started lifting, then became the big guy without any sort of definition - mainly due to my diet and drinking. So I have decided to change my lifestyle and live the bodybuilder's life. My aim is to be the best I can be and I am taking the journey one day at a time...

I was born and raised in NY, Long Island to be more precise.

I started lifting in highschool. Many of us started that earlier, some earlier than others. After a few years of working out the coaches who ran the weightroom asked me to play on the Varsity football team. Old rusty barbells, the sweet smell of old sweat hanging in the air, and heavy metal blaring from the dusty radio are still fond memories of a younger me striving to improve myself. Confidence follows hard workouts. Truth.

My weight has fluctuated my adult life as I entered the military out of highschool, and as I aged after the military. I am a little on the dense side of things. All joking aside I am thicker then most people I know. At 215 lbs I looked like most people did at 160. Most of the mass carried on this frame is muscle. I am accused of looking like Brock Lesnar. Even with a gut. How heavy you say?

Currently, 320.

Not all muscle, I can loose a fair amount but that leads to why I went back to the weight room.

I was diagnosed with a rare lung disease. Which robs me of healthy lung tissue and this makes training more difficult for me then a normal person. Cardio especially. Last few years I had been concentrating on my endurance, and weight. I lost 70 lbs in 6 months with proper diet and walking for fitness. But I noticed my job was getting harder to accomplish ( most of the weight being burned off was muscle as well as fat) and I always felt tired and I was getting injured more and more.

Fuck it. I went back to lifting.

When I took my training seriously again, Animal Packs were what I trusted my body with. This isnt a contest training regimine. This is me trying to stay out of a wheelchair. To fight back as my body deteriorates. I either make my stand now, or I never will. My doctor knows I train. She knows I take supps. Fortunately my blood tests and liver function tests have all come back clean. I take almost all the packs to aid me in my goals.

The goal is to survive the journey.

See you all around.

Hi to everybody! My name is Artjom Lienis, 19 years old, I'm from Latvia and now studying and living in Denmark, going work to Norway soon. Actually, I'm powerlifter, my main goal is BIG WEIGHTS and I'm doing my sport seriously but being natural I prefer to compete in AWPC with good doping control, already got master's degree in deadlift.
My favorite exercise is deadlift, because I'm using same technique as Konstantinovs and my results growing every training. Had some serious injure with my chest and didn't workout for 5 months, now I get back and already in 1 month of trainings almost reached my best results back. Now started to use some animal line stuff, I really enjoy it, but tried only animal pak and stak, going to try animal m-stak, pm and nitro as soon as possible=]

I'm KettleBellFreak for life man.
Started the exercise thing one day on the fly when I saw my mom's exercise bike and I wondered if I rode it every day for a few months if I could lose the excess weight so I sweated up and hopped on and dropped 30 with that, running and bodyweight stuff for like three months. I thought was awesome. Then I got two 25 lb kettlebells. Used them every other day after the bike and running, I was getting cut about 3 months in and had moved from 25s to 45s. I felt strength growing, but It seemed like my exercise sessions were just lacking, so I bought two 50lb dumbells. Thats when I realized weights are awesome. It took a month after that and I bought a gym membership and have since fallen head over heels for the iron. I plan on competing at an NPA show in August 2013. Bodybuilding means more to me than anything else, I'm at the gym five days a week now, supplementing properly and have a solid ass diet. I don't plan on stopping since I'm just seventeen. I'm not an expert at lifting nor bodybuilding, I still need help, and if you have a pointer you just want to share, do it. Don't hesitate please, the smallest adjustment to diet and training could mean the world to me.

Hey guys. Thanks for accepting me. I allowed myself to join the Animals because I am a big fan of your products, philosophy and of course the HRT SOLO program! I started bodybuilding again after several years of illness where I was as low as 132 pounds, of a man at 6.1 tall - weak and disgusting! but luckily I overcame the illness, and now I am back on rack and up about 194 pounds in 7 months and now it's all in! - Thanks two ANIMAL - a great motivation!.

Beside that, I play bass in the band "Kellermensch" and studying law.

Hey SG, I just saw this!!! Welcome... Sorry that ya couldn't make the ABC at The Body Shop, but there will be more in the near future!! Where are you currently training? Did you grow up in the area? Where are you coaching? (Sorry so many questions, but when there's someone local, I want to make sure that we get ya involved!!!).

Great having more "Valley" folks involved with the Forvm!!! You will have to make your way down to the Body Shop someday and meet up with some other members of the Chapter!!!

My name is Steve, I'm a 44 (just turned!) yr old security contractor currently working between Kabul & Kandahar in the sand box. Ex-soldier who's been lifting on and off since 1983.

I've been a fan of the Pak for years, and have always tried to incorporate it into my diet when I get the chance and when I'm into a hard training phase. No goals to my training except keeping strong & fit for work. Also do a lot of aerobic training to keep in shape - running and cycling etc.

Currently I'm 6'1", 202lbs and training steady here and when I'm home.

Favourite body part to train - easy, triceps.

My main goal forum-wise is to listen, learn and participate with people who are far more experienced in the iron game than I am.

Pleased to meet you all

Ghost

Am a uni student, currently in Malaysia, started off in the gym in highschool wanted to be noticed and put on some mass! Only really got serious this year and gains have been good! But got a long way to go! Looking forward to the support from you all! Been in this for 6 years. And its about time I start getting ready for my first competition next year! Need to put on real size.

Hey whats's going on fellas. My name is Miguel, originally from Puerto Rico currently living in VA. Been lifting for 6 years now. Like many of you through trial and error broken bones and many injuries i have continue to press on. Definitely looking forward to the times ahead and challenges that will continue to come. Take care gents, see you guys around.

Greetings from Denmark!

Hey all... I'm Deak007, or you can call me Deak... I have been working out for 6+ years now, and have recently gotten married... In the 10 months, i have dropped 70lbs to get ready for my wedding in August... I did a bulk for the whole month of Sept. and part of Oct. I started dieting again on OCT. 23rd doing a log for a new product.... just finished that up, and shed 15 lbs in that month... hopefully i can learn a lot and help others learn as well...

I've got family in Rocky Mt area. Just curious, also if you were on the west side it's not unheard of people driving 5-6 hrs for an ABC, but that far is a stretch for most.

Ill be here until January then I transfer to SD,CA. So if there is a meet during the holidays or around that time, and i have the time off ,I'll definitely hit the road for a few hours as I don't think theres are any ABC meets on this area. Thank you.
