View Full Version : Couple of Keto ?s
Sup fellas, plan on starting my keto journey in the next day or so. While doing my research, I ran across some who lives and dies by a High Carb Post workout shake that includes fruit juice specifically(after every workout) I was wondering if that was true or not?
Also, is it wise to cardio twice a day on keto, slow pace jogging on empty stomach in the morning, and then HIIT after I hit the weights? thanks for the feedback

If what was true?...
I don't think you need cardio twice a day unless you're training for a show or something like that.. But I'm sure you can if you'd like

whats up bro? The idea of the Keto diet is to cease all insulin spiking therefore fruit juice after your workout would kinda be against the grain and could well put you out of ketosis...
As for cardio, I'm 5 weeks into my keto diet and still only doing half an hour/day and still losing between 1-2lbs a week. When these numbers begin to drop i'll add 5 mins per session... I read in Ox's thread that you only do low intensity cardio while on a keto diet... Heart rate should not exceed 130bpm, thats puts hiit training out of the question as well...
Also for more info head to Ox's thread or search for the keto diet thread there is a wealth of information on here bro use it to your advantage and good luck.
appreciate the quick responses brothers

ZERO carbs on keto, ya ya natty pb, greens, fiber. I hate HIIT training IMO its the fastest way to lose muscle, its was way to taxing on my body. You dont need cardio twice a day to start, the diet alone will lose the weight, start with 4-5 Xs a wk 20-30 min then add 10-15 min every couple weeks that should be plenty to keep the weight loss going.

Don't start out with two cardio sessions a day. Start with a single 30 minute session of cardio. But work your way up to 2 45 minute sessions a day. Oh, and don't do High intensity cardio, Especially on keto. It will eat up your muscles like no other. This is why you want to work your way up to those 2 45 minute sessions. YOu need more low intensity cardio than you would high intensity cardio, but it spares so much more muscle.
I know it may seem out of your comfort zone to do low intensity cardio. I'll admit, I didn't think it would do anything at first, but it does, and it definately spares muscle.
