Fellow Animalz-

It is with great pleasure that I bring you my third journey. This voyage will be strictly aimed at putting on some good quality mass. I will be looking to bulk up, very slow and clean hoping to avoid any unnecessary garbage weight. I don't fear putting on a little as I know it is inevitable, but I am looking at bulking up in hopes of a show down the road. With that I bring you....

yohead's journey to becoming yoHUGE...welcome to BULKville

A quick recap of my previous journeys:

Journey One: Road to Being Jacked...was my first attempt at bulking with the aid of Animal Test. Put on some good size and a lot of garbage weight. But hey it was my first real bulk and I did get some good results from it. A lot more lean mass was added...but then I had to start out another journey to get rid of the garbage weight...

Journey Two: Cutting for abs to prove Peyton Manning wrong...had a great long cut. Too long of a cut in my opinion... in fact, fuck it I will just go for Keto next time after hearing how good my boy Broc is doing with it. I cut till I went on vacation (which I just came back from). I finally had abs and got great compliments down in Florida, best ones were You have a HOT BODY and watching all the eyes and heads following me as I stayed by the pool all day. Got some nice sun as well.

Vacation in Florida was great. I ate whatever I wanted for about a week and a half and felt like a fat ass when I got back. Felt good to take a week off of training to let the muscles recover and rest up.

I will be training my dad this summer as I try to get him through a cutting phase and so forth. Will be the great father-son duo and should be good fun. Also will be doing an externship at the District Attorney's office...should be a long 200 hours doing that. Therefore, I will be helping my father with cardio in the AM and lifting with him in the PM. Will be crazy changing it up this way...can't wait to see the results. I am finalizing my next Animal order (I am trying to wait for the new Iconic Ts to come out). I will be posting as much as I can and reading as much as I can of everyone else's journeys.

Thank you so much for everyone that has kept up with my logs and hopefully you will enjoy this one just as much as this will be a more permanent journey as I would like to do a show sometime down the road. I will also be writing down my thoughts, goals, diet, and everything I can with every entry.

It is time to get yoHUGE!

Today, I forgot about how much I was lifting and I just focused on the mind-muscle connection. I have been reading so much through Arnold's bio that I just had to try some of the techniques. I really worked on clearing my head of all the other petty bullshit that always goes through it. I envisioned myself lifting the weight before I even laid under it. The results were one of the best chest pumps I have ever had. I was training with my dad, and he said my chest just exploded out of no where. Ah, how I have missed the pump.

Tomorrow, I have a shaker bottle already loaded up with Real Gains (Thanks Broc). Have eggs and tuna mixed together; have brocolli and chicken together; I have an Animal Snak bar ready.... it has gotten serious. I have 5 steaks thawing out for the grill tomorrow and about 4 or 5 potatoes to cook with them. I am going to eat myself silly. I also have the new flavor Torrent to enjoy and was very lucky to be awarded a can of Animal Test, which I will definitely put to some good use. I am working on putting together my next order now.

In the mean time, here is my first PM workout. Its all CHEST related. The current gym I am lifting at is VERY VERY small and the equipment is minimal, but it will do. Some revamping may be done here and there, but altogether, the job will get done. I refuse to surrender. I will also be trying to track any increases in weight/reps/whatever else I can.

Chest

Bench Press: Warm Up; 225x10; 255x8; 275x5; 225x8

Incline DB: 4x10 (70); On last set did a dropset of 55x6

Flat Flys: 3x10 (35; 40; 40)

Cable Crossovers: Upper 4x10 (60)

Dips: BWx15; BWx14; BWx12; BWx8; BWx6

Cardio: Yes, even though I'm bulking, I felt like a fat ass... so I did 20 min of moderate to heavy walking ~225-250 cals

Thoughts:
I really focused a lot more on technique and form as well today. In fact, I believe it was the best bench form and technique I have ever had. I could have benched the world--but I stopped and just crushed the 275 for 5 clean deep reps. Spotter not necessary but just there to look on. Felt great and I will be more than likely adding some DB pullovers to the mix and just trying to keep shit basic. Form, mind, muscle, connection, technique, focus.

I was so amped to lift today that I believe I would have busted down the door if it would have been locked. Or I would have just sat in my driveway and lifted on a makeshift bench. I will become yoHUGE!

good luck with the bulk. im coming off mine and it got real hard toward the end. it truly feels like you are eating non stop. the constant preparation, cooking, eating and digesting. balancing it around work, social life, workouts and such.

you are in for one hell of a journey. i like how prepared u are.

Vacation is over! DO WORK!

Sweet you used yoHUGE! That was a pretty good idea by "caugh caugh". This one is going to be fun. After I get back from the beach it's bulk city for Broc too.

Now lets see the weights fly!

One word should be going through your mind now! FOOD! Eat up and enjoy, because bulking is way better than cutting.

Haha thanks Pizza, I still have my top two abs and you can see the outline and the middle line for the others and that V at the bottom... oh well... this time I know not to let them get too far out of sight with the wrong advice I was getting from a "short cut" using "attention" whore. Yes you could cut the tension with a butter knife.... haha How you been brother?

You hit the nail on the coffin. The past two days I have been cooking and eating more than ever. It is harder than hell to eat so much when I am glued beside the DA in court all day. I just tell them I am going to the bathroom and I go to the car, down some food and head back in. Other times I sneak in a protein shake in court, but I can't pull that off every day as some Judges get royally pissed! I am going at it the best way I know how and I always have a full cooler and I have my parents supporting me.

My dad is actually in the process of cutting right now... I am preparing not only my meals but his as well and putting him on a high protein diet. I am teaching him the basics and getting technique down a lot this week. My workouts are more at a slower paced just due to this aspect, but it is worth it to break down fundamentals as it helps refresh me as well.

I agree. And this gym is super simple... its the size of a small living room. DBs only go up to 90 which is my only grip, but I figure I can just concentrate more on form and technique and getting more reps in. I would rather hit a solid clean controlled 5 reps of 90 then 15 quick, sloppy, cheat reps of 90.

Thanks for the support as always N2B... how have you been?

Looking forward to this...

Phil I am glad you won that beta testing for the new product. I know you will give it hell, I am behind ya 100%. Ha, like the full plate analogy. It couldn't be more true.

Thanks Broc. Yeah you had a good idea with "yoHUGE". Can't wait to get back up and destroy Grundy again. Until then enjoy Keto and get ripped. You deserve it... and trust me it is very worth it when you feel everyone watching you because you look like an ANIMAL

hey!

Today I was thrown a little bit off schedule as I was stationed beside the DA all day and in court. It makes it hella hard to eat as much as I want to being there all day. Was a good experience though and I snuck off when I could to down food. Got in some meals...

I was also informed that my "mini" gym would be closed this Friday and upcoming Monday to honor Memorial Day...nothing like a Holiday to make ya change around your routine. I have already taken steps to get in my workouts to the best of my abilities. You will see more than likely shoulders lumped with something this week and then back and shoulder combined next week.

Today, I also put into effect a lot of the information I have been reading about. I once again forgot about heavy weight and just really focused on very strict form and technique. Of course this resulted in fewer reps or less weight. Definitely an ego check. I also was explaining proper technique to my dad about Deadlifts, Bentover Rows, etc. He is still learning but will be in the groove very soon.

Back:

Pull Ups: 4 sets (No clue on reps...just long 2 second pauses at the bottom of each)

Deadlifts: 4x10 (Warm Up); 225; 315; 315; 225

Bentover BB Rows: 4x10 (135) 2 second pause at the top of each

Nautilus Pullover Machine: 3x10 (90; 150; 150)

Abs

Decline Situps: 3x15

Crunch Machine: 3x15 (60-70)

Hanging Leg Raises: 3x15

Diet:
Meal: 4 whole eggs, 1 egg white w/ 1/2 cup of oats and 4 slices turkey bacon
Meal: Real Gains Shake 3.5 scoops of sweet Vanilla
Meal: Ham sandwich on whole wheat bread w/ lettece and cheese
Meal: 8 oz Chicken Breast w/ 1.5 cups of brocolli
Meal: 3 scoops Torrent (post workout)
Meal: 2 turkey burgers w/ cheese, lettece, no bun w/ sweet potato
Meal: Bedtime Shake and Cottage Cheese (No not mixed together)

Thoughts:
Today showed me how tough it is going to be to eat a ton in the time constrained day of being in court all the time. It also showed me how some days I will be swamped and have to stay past 5 making my workouts at a later time. Regardless, just gotta pull through and do it. Desire determines destiny.

After doing so many deads, I just wanted to curl into the fetal position today. My back felt super pumped and I am already sore from yesterday and today's workouts. That just means I'm growing. Ahhhh....

hey there. good to see your back on track here. Thanks for stopping by my journey and feel free to come in and say hey anytime.

As for your back day...keepin it simple and strong, like that. Question on your pull-ups....what kinda grip you using? overhand or underhand? I have found for me, taking a slightly wider than shoulder width grip feels way different than if you went shoulder width or closer...feels better to me. Start goin weighted...if your getting 4-5 sets with your bw, its time to take it up a notch! ;)

Today is my back day..come over later and see how I go about it these days. ;)

Great back work bro! You lucky prick drinking your Torrent. How is it by the way? Everything looked solid in that back day. I have kept my rows a good bit lighter too (staying around 225), makin sure to get a huge contraction at the top. I dont know if its because the fat is dropping or what, but I'm definately looking wider and freakier in my back. Stupid work putting the crazy eating schedule in place, got to get them in when you can. I sneak off too, its a must!

Woke up this morning and my lower back was fucking gutted. Seriously, I am still sore from my chest as well. I have been working at chipping away some of this nasty water weight that I put on over my vacation, so I did some light jogging of 1.5 miles... by light it was a range of 6 to 6.5 mph... I normally go a lot harder than this but I didn't care, I'm not trying to get shredded right now...just wanting to get feeling like I am back on track again after a long recess.

I have quickly put on some LBs just from re-introducing carbs again, as last I checked I was floating around 200 even...but keep in mind about 5 lbs of that is probably still garbage from before / water retention. I figure to be around 198 around next week and will consider everything else gained after that "quality" if it fits my description of "quality". Looking to get to around a good clean 225 or 230 at around 12-14%. I am not 100% on those numbers but I have in mind where I want to be.

I can't wait until I am done being an extern, as all I do now is feel like I am rushing around. I drive 20 minutes to the court house, 20 minutes back home just to rush back out and make it to the gym before they close. It is definitely cool training with my dad though, glad I can help motivate him back to shape. He loves the Arnold quotes I keep giving him. Things will slow back down for me in I guess around 5 weeks when I don't have to drive out there every day and I can just take my time and do whatever I please all day. More than likely work around the house. Ah I can't wait...

Legs:

Squats: Warmup; 135x20 ATG; 225x10; 225x10; 135x20 ATG

Leg Curls: 3x15 (130) I felt these so deep in my hams it was rediculous, could barely walk.

Seated Leg Extensions: 3x15 (130; 150; 150)

Leg Press Machine: 4x15 (310; 310; 370; 410(Stack))
-Super Set w/-
Calve Raises: 4x20 (310) (Varied the position each time)

Diet:

Meal: 3 whole eggs, 1 egg white, 1 House Oatmeal Cookie, 3 slices turkey bacon
(45 minutes later protein shake)
Meal: Real Gains
Meal: Salad (30 minutes later can of tuna w/ 3 whole eggs)
Meal: Protein Shake
Meal: Torrent (Post)
Meal: 7 oz of Steak w/ salad, green beans, zuccini, squash
Meal: Protein Shake
Meal: Cottage Cheese

Thoughts:
I didn't go as heavy as I would have liked but keep in mind I did the workout in around 40 minutes with very minimal pauses in between sets as I was showing technique and form a lot of the time to my father. Wasn't as hellacious as my typical leg workouts but it damn sure got the job done as I had trouble walking out of the place. Lots of water and food for the rest of the night. Hopefully I can sleep better tonight, because I travel to a different county for court tomorrow....

Way Cool You Train With Your Dad. I Wish My Dad And I Had That Sorta Connection. He Is Too Old Now And Doesnt Really Understand Why I Do What I Do, But He Tries To Look At It With An Open Mind, Thats All I Ask From Him Anyway.

Leg Day...lighter Days Are Good For You, You Know That! Cant Always Expect Your Body To Do Crazy Ass Lifts In Every Wo. I Find Sometimes My Lighter Days Hurt Worse Of All! Like Monday I Went With Lighter Rep Work For Bench And Yesterday It All Creeped On Me And Hit Me Hard; The Soreness And All, So, Its All Good. As Long As The Form Was Strict And You Repped It Out Hard, Which I Know You Did...the Muscles Surely Took A Hit And That Means Growth And Development!

I hear ya! My gym is one of those pretty places with lots of people training jaw jackers while super setting them with hand motioning exercises. Cant necessarily be in there screming in pain. Hell they look at me funny when I grunt. I do it anyway, because if they were using weights I do or even working out in general they would know why I'm grunting.

Diet looks great bro! Glad to hear the goals. I think when I'm back on the bulk for the year I'm going to aim for 255 at about 12-14% (cuz I dont think I will drop below 205 by beach time). We got to make these happen when we are back in the G-Spot.

Great leg work! Cool your teaching your pops good technique, that is more than we can say about some who lift or well act like they lift at school. On a side not enjoy your time with your father, I know if mine were still alive I would love to train with him. I am jelous but yet happy that you get that experience, if that makes sense at all!

Best arm pump ever, was so pumped I could barely finish the alt db curls. It was rediculous, but I was super pumped!

far be it from me to inpose, but did you ever think about eating more of your meals rather than drinking them? I mena if it fits your schedule this way , then continue to do it as you need be.

Awesome day though...you certainly need to eat big if your gonna train all crazy like that! ;)

did the arms listen to you? lol

Ha, I don't know if they listened or not... we will have to wait and see when I measure in another week or two.

nice day on the weights and grub yohead. nice numbers too!

Thanks Carpe... I'm trying to be a sharpie as well...

Totally sick workout Burt! Very very nice, no doubt you had the crazy pump from all that! Enjoy your weekend my man!

Insane pump; great weekend; Thanks Phil, I hope you had a great memorial day as well...

That was one heck of a combo bro! Great work!

Thanks Broc... slamming it in there like that was a bitch... stupid gym closing early...

Welcome back bro. Lookign forward to your new journey. I know you will make big things happen. Best of luck.

Thanks E always glad to have ya and always glad to hear criticism as well as that is the best way we learn. Yeah I don't like having to drink all of them like this but given my time constrained schedule for the next few weeks (until I get 200 hours at my externship) I will be getting what I can with them. When I am not at the district attorney's office I am slamming down very solid foods ready to pack on size. I have another 3 weeks (hopefully after this week) left of my externship. By then I should only be doing one shake a day (Real Gains) just because they are delicious and get all my bases covered quickly. Please continue to check and see how it improves...your thoughts are always very well received...

Yeah I know Toni it was hell with all the groups together due to the gym being closed. Gotta get my workouts in despite Memorial Day... I am working at the District Attorney's office for my externship right now making meals a little tight to get in. That's the basis for the quick shakes to get my nutrients in. However, upon getting my 200 hours I will be on a more solid plan that should do the trick just as well. I do love the real gains shakes though as I know all my bases are covered.

E and Toni I am also going to be starting 2 cans of Animal Test very soon as well. I was wondering besides Pak, Nitro, and Omega, what else do you think I should run with it?

Well bro if you are gonna do Test and Omega together make sure you only do one pack of Omega a day so the EFA's don't counteract with the Arachidonic Acid in the Test. Since you are "bulking" up here is what I would do:

Animal Pak- 1 pack with breakfast
Animal Stak - 1 pack 30 minutes before you train
Animal Test- 1 pack with the meal prior before you train
Animal Omega- 1 pack with a meal
Animal Nitro- 2 packs immediately after your workout
Torrent- 1 serving 30 minutes after your Animal Nitro
Storm- 1 serving intra workout
EAA Nitro- 1 serving intra-workout (mixed with Storm)

Ditto on my man Enforcer here..I dont use Test or Torrent, so I wouldnt be able to really advise you as much as Enforcer can. He knows his stuff..so he is the man to shout at for this sorta advice.

I pretty much do what he has outlined here minus the test and torrent, and Im on stak now..started it up again this past monday. I do one nitro pak post wo cause Im a little girl! LOL...and Enforcer is a pretty big boy, so he needs the 2 nitro paks.

I used to like mixing shock with storm for my during-wo drink. Im not using creatine now, so I opt for shock and EAA's for my wo drink. Then I take nitro pak post wo, then my post wo shake. I would go with what The Enforcer laid out here for ya, most def!

I think he hit the nail on the head! That is going to be my MASS Stack when I'm back on the bulk. I think we had talkd about this one. He is right with the Omega par too. Because AA is a Fatty Acid it wont get absorbed as well if your EFA count gets super high. EAA Nitro and Strom MMMM. Torrent=drool! Bro you gonna take Shock Therapy or Pump for a pre? Just figure I would throw it out. You heard my reasoning for ST before we left. I think the 3 (ST, Strom, Torrent) would help put on some crazy size! But, You have heard me bable about that one in the past. Other than that what E says should go. make a purchase and keep getting after it!

Damn I had a great weekend. I ate bout everything in site and loved it. Went swimming yesterday and cooked out with the fam. A lot of family members commented on how "muscular" I was looking. Thanks I guess--I just replied with a smile and said I still have a lot of work to do. They were all excited I was training with my dad. He is finally getting the hang of it all. Tonight we watched Pumping Iron. Ha, he was laughing at Arnold's antics and quoting it quickly. A good thing about this past weekend was I don't think I made a shake for any meal as I was deriving all my nutrients from solid foods. I consumed so much beef and chicken it was ridiculous. I read somewhere about how Wrath ate a lot of beef and how it gets you big and so forth. Well thats the plan--get big. I also slept a lot this weekend and took naps all over the place.

I also ran into the "big guy" at our gym. Actually he came over and started talking to me in between sets and was asking if I was training for anything. I told him I would love to eventually but right now just trying to get big. We talked a while about training and then just went back to killing it.

I also weighed in today. The verdict... well I am floating around 205. + 5 lbs So far the bulk is going good. I believe I will finally start leveling off weight wise as I gained a quick amount due to the mere fact of introducing carbs again. I eat so much now I am not even really hungry when I eat. Just eat to be growing.

Target Group: (Chest / Abs)

Chest
Flat Bench Press: 225x10; 245x8; 275x5; 295x3; 225x8 + 295x3 Last week I don't think I could have pressed 295 for 3 on this. So increased here.

Incline Bench Press: 155x10; 185x8; 185x8; 185x8; 135x10

Flat Bench Flys: 3x10 (35; 40; 45) + 45x10 Couldn't get these last week.

Incline Bench Flys: 3x10 (35; 40; 45)

Dips: BWx20; BWx18; BWx15; BWx15; BWx12 + 25 more dips These felt a lot better. I am finding my groove again.

Abs:
Hanging Leg Raises: 3x15

Assisted Ab Crunch Machine: 3x15 (80; 90; 90)

Decline Situps: 1x25; 1x20; 1x20

Diet:
Meal: Real Gains w/ 3 slices Turkey Bacon (I know not the best, but I was running late this morning. It was sufficient though).
Meal: 7 oz of Chicken w/ 2 oz of Steak
Meal: 3 oz of Steak w/ 6 oz of Tuna Steak w/ small serving of brocolli
Meal: Real Gains Shake
Meal: Torrent
Meal: 1.5 servings of Whole Wheat Spagetti w/ 1 piece of bread
Meal: Cottage Cheese w/ whey mixed in

**Not as much solid food as I would like to take in, but it is sufficient and convenient while working at the D.A.'s office**

Thoughts:
Today's workout was great. I felt a lot stronger than I did last week and I believe I went up in everything from last week. I also pressed the 275x5 a lot better than last week, which I didn't think would be possible. I also popped out 295 fairly easy for 3 as well. I got 2 very clean and good looking reps. I squeezed out the last one and just had a slight tap at the top during lock out. Wasn't as strong as I would have liked on incline but its a point to move forward from. Progress is always a plus. I will be combining some of this week's workouts to compensate for the short work week due to Memorial Day. This will be the last week of crunching in workouts so please bear with me. I am also going to do my best to track changes in lifts whether they are good or bad. With this I should be able to firmly motivate myself to push it to the limit. Reminds me of Scarface when I say that.

As far as the new stack goes, I am slowly piecing it together as I collect the funds. I just ordered a fresh can of Pak for the first part and I received a can of Test for the second part of the stack. I also have a leftover can of M-Stak to throw into the mix as well. Just a few more pieces of the puzzle.

Dude great chest day! Your suggested stack looked pretty good yesterday, only because its the exact one I'm gonna hope on after this crazy cut. Great work with the 295! Weight looks good too. It will level off soon, this is most likely rebound weight. Keep feeding and growing bro! I will have some cathing up to do starging mid July!

While working within the D.A.'s office, I have found myself sneaking off for much needed breaks and eating in my car. In the mean time, one of the office staff has exclaimed that "You don't eat," motioning her proverbial finger towards me. I just laughed and explained every time you don't see me in the office that means I have gone out to eat. After two days of being told I don't eat... I decided to enlighten this woman by bringing in my cooler that I keep in my car due to the long days here.

Her face today was absolutely priceless when I ate Meal Two. Meal Three was great as well. By Meal Four I believe she has given up saying "I don't eat". However, Meal Five put the nail in this lady's coffin. Haha.

You would be amazed at how quick a "you don't eat" comment gets silenced when they see you eating two hamburger patties and a chicken breast for a meal. If that's not enough the double dosage of left over whole wheat spagetti will do it. The weight gainer shake on top of that haha.

Just because I didn't want to eat the "fast food" breakfast brought in does not mean I don't eat. It simply means I choose not to eat that. This hopefully will silence the lady from always telling me to go eat.

Just thought I would throw this rant out there and update yall on today's antics. Long day at the office. Already thinking ahead to what brutal hell I can unleash on my back.

Well today my training partner had to work late...that's alright I brought my other training partner...my iPod with me. Once I put in the ear phones it was over... I banged through this workout in under an hour, was covered in sweat and puked in my mouth 3 times. I literally stopped in the parking lot on the way out because I thought I was going to see my previous meals. I knocked out the workout as hard as I could with minimal rests in between sets. I didn't rest longer than 45 seconds on any lift/set. Fucking gutted. I combined back and shoulders due to the short memorial week. Figured I would leave Arms there own day since they are being stubborn sons of bitches in growing and I didn't wanna break up legs. Back to normal next week.

Target Group: (Back / Shoulders)

Back
Pull Ups: BWx8; BWx7; BWx7; BWx6 (Used Reverse Grip) + I did more this week than I did last

Deadlifts: 225x12; 275x10; 315x10; 365x5; 365x4; 225x10 + 365x5 & 365x4 No way in hell I could have done these last week.

DB Rows: 80x12; 90x10; 90x10

Shoulders:
Seated Smith Machine Military Press: 4x10 (135)
*Superset w/*
Arnold Press: 4x10 (40; 45; 50; 55)

Rear Shrugs: 3x10 (185) +50 lbs
*Superset w/*
Bent Over DB Raises: 3x10 (30)
*Superset w/*
Front Shrugs: 3x10 (225)

Meal: 2 hamburger patties and 6 oz chicken breast
Meal: 1.5 servings of whole wheat spagetti
Meal: Vanilla Real Gains
Meal: Torrent
Meal: 7 oz Chicken Breast over cup of brown rice w/ onions
Meal: Protein Shake w/ Peanut Butter
Meal: 1.5 cups of Cottage Cheese

Thoughts:
My back pump was so incredible after the deads today that I was literally paralyzed at the end of 'em. I couldn't move. It fucking hurt...but it was a good hurt. A hurt that told me the pump was so damn worth it. I could just concentrate and feel the blood rushing everywhere. Grow baby grow. My pullups haven't caught up to where I was before I took off on vacation, but I am doing them a lot slower than before and concentrating on things more. I definitely feel them. The gym just started at me the whole time while I banged out this hell...partly because its a small gym and partly because no one there lifts over 40 lbs. They bout shit a break when I was dead lifting 365 and my shins were bleeding.

In the middle of my supersets of arnolds and militarys, some little kid strips the smith machine and puts a 5 and a 2.5 on each side and literally mocks my lift while I was doing arnolds. I paid no attention and just banged out the Arnolds. Put up the DBs and got the next heavier set of DBs and started the next set of supersets with Arnolds. The kid was gone after that so I didn't have to wait for the smith machine to finish up militarys. I had to strip it down and get everything set up again. Pisses me off how kids just do stuff like that for shits and giggles. Ah, maybe I am being too tough on 'em after all he was just a kid. I would have gladly shown him how to lift it properly but he vanished without a trace leaving behind the ghostly 5 and 2.5 lbs per side. Or maybe its his parents to blame for not teaching him to respect others and proper discipline. Ah, whatever.

Had a great session and looking to eat big and rest up while playing GTA 4 the rest of the night. Peace.

Haha tell me about it.. I was playing a few missions and 2 hours went by like that. I'm getting pretty good at it. Storyline on it is addicting. Where are you at in it? I just finished the Shadow mission and popped all those drug dealers...

Yeah the pump was literally paralyzing. I couldn't move after the deads. I just looked up, with my eyes closed and took the moment in. It's funny how much you appreciate something small like that. It felt incredible.

As we speak, my back and shoulders are sore as hell. Ha, but I like the pain.

I have come to start realizing just how big of a weak point my arms are. For this I have been toying with the idea of training my arms twice a week but am not quite sure where I would fit them in two times if I do decide to do it. I am just sick of them being stuck in neutral. Fuck it. I will adjust accordingly and progress. With this said, I have been doing everything I can for maximum contraction in my biceps and triceps.

Target Group: (Gunz / Abs)

Bis:
Standing BB Curls: 4x10 (95; 95; 105x7 :REST PAUSE: 105x3; 100x8 :REST PAUSE: 100x3) + 105x7

Alt. One Arm DB Preacher Curl: 4x10 (each arm) (30) (Paused at the top of each for maximum contraction) + 30s whole time

Incline DB Alt. Curl: 4x10 (25; 25; 20; 20) My bis were so pumped for these I could hardly bend my arms. - Dropped in weight from last week, but I got all the reps

Tris:
Overhead DB Tri Extension: 4x10 (90) + 90s whole time

Lying Tri Extension (Skull Crushers): 4x10 (95; 95; 105; 105) +105

Overhead Rope Extension: 3x12 (120; 150; 150)

Straight Bar Pushdowns: 4x10 (120; 100; 100; 100) Dropped the weight to focus on the tri contractions

Abs:
Woodchoppers: 3x15 (100; 110; 110) I just felt like working obliques

Diet:
Meal: 2 whole eggs, 2 egg whites w/ 3 slices turkey bacon and medium whole wheat pancake
Meal: Vanilla Real Gains
Meal: Huge Grilled Chicken Breast w/ good sized salad
Meal: 7 to 8 oz of Chicken breast w/ cup of whole grain brown rice
Meal: Torrent
Meal: 7 oz Chicken Breast (Stuffed w/ stuffing) w/ small salad and brocolli
Meal: Protein Shake w/ Peanut Butter

Thoughts:
The pump in my biceps after the preacher curls had my arms to a point where I couldn't even bend them. This made the DB Inclines rather difficult so I just curled up as far as I could with each one and paused for maximum contraction with each rep. I also spoke to my arms like they were plants saying "GROW". Haha, hey it might work.

Great work bro! My arms never grow either, well they are shrinking a tad wiht the cut 16 3/4 right now.

Here is a quick thought for what its worth: I remember Arnold and I think Machine talking about not pausing at the top because it take a little off the contraction. I have been squeezing at the top then hitting it slow and controlled on the way down and it seems to be working well. Just some advice bro, you know I want you to grow huge so I figured I would throw it out there. Its like the time under tension thing with House style bench, never stoping at top and moving slow on the negative will put a ton of tension on the Bi. More tension= greater hypertorphy = GREATER GROWTH. To many = signs there forgot I'm not going to school to be a mathmatician, but to be a lawyer. haha.

Keep telling them to grow, keep eating and you will have some serious meat hooks by the time school starts!

Hah thanks Broc.. yea when I get to the top pausing, I keep the bi fully contracted to where it almost hurts and then slowly lower it. Takes a lot longer to curl but I like it.

Ok good thats what I was getting at was keeping a contraction and not resting it. Seems like you got it in order! So keep on keepin on! You are right it takes me forever to curl doing them like that, but they are helping me keep some size.

Excellent work Mr. DA. Just be sure if you are going to lift arms twice a week to ensure there is enough rest between both times. Other than that just play it by ear and see where your arms take you. I would tell you that Deadlifts help, but you already have that one down. Keep it up DA.

Great Arm session bro!!! Here is a possible idea I used to bring my arms up in the past......
I did Chest monday, and back tuesday.....After Chest day, I'd do some heavy compound move for triceps. CG Bench, Skulls, something like that, and do Heavy curls or DBs on the end of back day. Come Friday, I'd do arms alone, and do isolation moves the whole way.......just an idea..

seated or standing, alternating or dbl arm, which is harder.

2 curls on one arm, then 2 curls on the other..that is one rep...keep goin to failure. If you keep your palms foward...even more difficult.

Man this workout was brutal hell after doing deads earlier this week. My lower back hurt like WHOA and was so damn sore... I just sucked it up and did what I could on squats. I didn't go super heavy but I did do a lot of volume. Read somewhere about a lot of volume = mad leg growth in the latest MD. We shall see.

I collapsed in the gym about 3 times trying to walk in between the insane circuit and another time during the calve raises. My legs just buckled and I couldn't do anything bout it. I did catch myself on the nearby machines though. My legs are so damn tight and I know I will be hurting tomorrow.

Target Group: (Wheelz)

Legs:
Squats (ATG): 135x50; 185x15; 205x15; 225x15; Barx30 + Mo Reps
*Superset w/ (on 185-225 squat sets)*
Smith Machine Squats (Legs out front): 135x15; 155x15; 155x15
*Superset w/ (on 185-225 squat sets)*
Leg Curls: 3x15 (120; 150; 150) +150
*Superset w/ (on 185-225 squat sets)*
Leg Extensions: 3x15 (150; 170; 200) + 200

*Puked in my mouth three times*

Calf Raises: (Different Foot Stances); 4x25 (225)

*Collapsed and limped out.*

Diet:
Meal: 4 whole eggs, 4 slices turkey bacon, medium whole wheat pancake
Meal: Real Gains
Meal: Salad (w/ 2.5 oz flank steak) and serving of whole wheat spagetti
Meal: 6 oz of chicken stuffed w/ stuffing and serving of brocolli
Meal: Torrent (Post)
Meal: 7 oz of Steak w/ salad, potato
Meal: Protein Shake w/ PB

Believe it or not this workout was done in 35 to 38 minutes...so sore and my legs already hurt like hell. Time to rest up and grow all weekend.

Progress:

This weekend I had a fun filled time celebrating a great occasion with a bunch of family and friends. Went out celebrating with some friends and family and I definitely am glad I no longer partake in certain aspects of my life like I used to (ahem, drinking). I no longer look and feel like shit constantly. Yet some people still always bring up your past and never can see how much you have progressed and moved away from certain aspects of your life. I think it is just a cop out and another way for these insecure people to make excuses on why they should be validated in what they are doing and how I shouldn't have a right to shake my head at it. Ya live and ya learn I guess...but some people choose never to forget your past. In these regards, lifting weights saved my life. Well a lot of things save my life but the constant desire and dedication to progress and change my life propelled me to where I am today. Anyways, a lot of people hadn't seen me since Christmas, Easter, and some hadn't seen me since longer than that. It was definitely refreshing to see people and hear good things about how much I have changed. I really don't see some of the changes that others rapidly notice as I am often very critical on myself. I received multiple comments on how great I looked and how muscular I appeared to everyone. Got very good calf compliments as well (House I am following ya here). I never really noticed my calves but once I got the compliment I just looked down at them and actually noticed they were getting bigger. Maybe they were still just pumped from that crazy ass leg workout I did Friday. Ah, whatever the case it felt good to receive so many compliments. One of my friends just kept repeating it over and over and felt the need to tell everyone. I guess now a days it is rare to actually see someone say they are going to do something and then actually do it. My cousin told me I was the only person he knew who was always changing up their body each time he sees me. He was the giver of the calf compliment and told me each time I just look bigger, leaner, and solid. I even got a jaw compliment haha.

No, I'm not posting this to blow smoke up my own ass or inflate any form of an ego. I am just posting this to let others know and to motivate people that yes you can go out and progress towards your goals. I never thought I would get so many compliments and I was questioned the whole night about different aspects of training, diet, nutrition, supplements. Definitely weird having people want your advice after seeing your results/body/image/appearance (whatever you want to call it). This is especially weird coming from the guy who was never one to be proud of his body and often considered the "fat" kid. But that's another tale that has already been told and every day I wake up to my rewards of progress. I guess that's just the dividing line between progress and stalemating. The difference between night and day. Some have that desire, that fuel to feed to their own personal fires, the dedication, the discipline...the will power...the strength to pump out the last few reps, the courage to do 5 more "no matter what"...the power to get up every day and get their workouts in regardless if they are sore, tired, or just don't plain feel like it. These same people choke down the monotonous menu of foods for the nutrients they provide rather than for the sheer taste. These same people are always reading, researching, talking and studying with dedicated others on how to better one another and progress.

Progress is only an eight lettered word desired to designate "change". Anything from an inch to a pound is considered progress in my book--yet, so many do nothing. They talk all the proper terms and lingo. They attempt to go to the gym for the first month and quickly fade away. They get sore. They get bored. They can't get a girl's number. They just are looking for the quick way out. They want the magic pill that gives you 18 inch arms, a 6 pack, and sole chest/shoulders. They want the pill that just melts the fat off without cutting carbs, calories, or doing cardio. They don't want to be on the treadmill two times a day for separate 45 minute sessions. They don't want to eat six to seven times a day. They don't want to drink a gallon of water. They don't want to miss the next American Idol by going to the gym. They just don't have the time after a busy day at work to drive all the way over to the gym and be in there for 45 minutes lifting weights when they can just easily enjoy a beer in front of the boob tube. Yet these same people are always bitching and moaning about never seeing anything get done. They bitch about not being able to lose weight as they chug down super sized sodas to wash down the biggie fries and latest full pound burger they just ordered. Its just re-damn-diculous how weak some can be. But at the same time it is amazing to see how strong others are.

This game we have come to love is all about progress and is a game of waiting. Patience is a virtue within the love of iron. You must be determined and you must desire to better yourself. Other wise it's just like pissing in the wind. Hope and faith take you a long way. Desire determines destiny.

Good stuff in that last post Yo...LOL

Im gonna add something...an experience of mine in relation to your story there.

I have an "other" right...(we are in the mid of a divorce, just putting that out there)...anyway, I do my share and cook dinners pretty much every single night for the family. Now my dinners during the week are the same cause I eat clean all week then I use the wkds for my cheats where I cook other types of foods I normally would not eat during the week. So during the week, I eat the usual stuff, nothing fancy, but not to the extent of show prep eating either.

Ok...well, we had some people over and the comment was made that I was the reason he was getting fat...my cooking.

Well, all I can feel was my face on fire. I cook very healthy, wholesome and well-balanced meals for the family always. But on that same note, I dont expect them to eat the way I do. Of course I went on the defensive here...I pretty much said ok, lets look at this from my point of view.

You drink coffee all day, you eat out and eat fast food junk for lunch, you come here for dinner, eat your food, pick off other people's plates, you smoke, drink, and never exercise. My food is getting you fat??? To top it off, whenever I bake, and he takes it to work for his employees, he eats a load of it himself!

Then, I get these comments out loud when Im making my fish in marinara sauce with veggies (which I eat maybe 4-5x a week) cause I love it. He would be like, ohhhhh, yum...fish again..you know all cynical and sarcastic-like.

I said look...you may look at what I eat and think its gross, boring or the same shit, but I friggin love it. I enjoy my fish, I enjoy my oats and pb, I enjoy my oven fried chicken breast coated in oats...this is what I eat to support my lifestyle during the week. I have my moments like anyone else where I want cake or something different. But Im simple and I live and eat the way I feel is best for me. People like this just bug the shit out of me. LOL

We all make choices, and these choices show who we are...I am who I am cause of the choices I made. For some, this is hard to accept cause people always wanna change who you are. Why? Well, many reasons why. From my experience, this one experience right here...because this is the one thing he cant control in my life. It kills him to see me in control of anything so he attacks it.

“I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position. Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope. When my attitudes are right, there is no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me.”

Great post Bro! My family does the same thing. Its always how do you eat so strict? We eat what taste good, and so on. Never realizing that progress/ change, and body/mind manipulation taste good too. It is worth every gallon, every chicken breast, every cup of rice (well not for me right now), every night of 8 hours in bed, going to bed early, and every second of pain/blood/sweat that is left in the gym. This is our fun, our drive, our sanity!!! Its fuels us, drives us and at sometimes consumes us. What they dont realize is that while they are having fun, they end up feeling sluggish with no energy. We on the other hand bounce off the walls, go crazy, and are still having fun.

This is a one man WAR! A never ending pursuit of the impossible PERFECTION! We can never attain it, although it is at time right there infront of our face or looking at us in the mirror. Desire does Determine Destiny, and HARD WORK/ INTESTINAL FORTITUDE MAKE IT REALITY!!!!

Keep walking the path bro, because in the up coming months you will start having to bulldoze the trees that line the edges of it!!!!

Good stuff Burt, speaking the straight truth there bro. That's really cool that people notice, nothing wrong with a little ego boost every now and then.

Thanks Phil. Yeah I am definitely seeing some nice results...the scale is going up and according to the tape measure and the mirror I am not gaining dirty weight.

Great stuff DA. It is a battle against yourself everyday. If you can beat that you can beat anything. Keep it up bro.

Oh yeah it always is Officer Sly. That's how I motivate myself by pitting a battle against myself. Only way...

Charles R. Swindoll, Amercian writer, 1934

Damn. Toni that post was very deep and definitely hit home for me. Just want you to know means a lot and know that I am right beside ya in the journey. Attitude is everything.

Thanks Broc...means a lot hearing ya say that and I know you are battling it every day with me.

It sure is bro. Unless your goal is to add mass at any cost. Then it is no holes barred man.

I want to add mass but not at any cost...I have been trying to keep the mass as clean as I can. The scales have gone up, I am lifting more, and my tape measure/mirror doesn't indicate any real dirty poundage. Hopefully I can keep it up.

Good stuff, bro!!! "Keepin' it Real"...

Thanks.. that sounds so gangster... "keeping it real" haha...

Today I just felt like an unstoppable beast in the gym. Perhaps it was the yellow Animal T...or maybe it was just my mindset of wanting to progress. Whatever the reason, I went in and just killed it. Had the best chest day I have had in a long time. Felt good...felt damn good. Also have noticed increased growth in my thighs... they seem to have exploded lately... haven't taken a lot of measurements yet.. just waist to make sure that is being kept in check. So far I have had pretty decent gains according to the scales and weight room. I am trying to keep the new mass as clean as possible. It is harder than I thought to put on clean mass. I know my body is starting to respond nicely though.

My chest was so damn pumped after bench press and incline DBs. I felt super strong on the bench and just felt like I could go on forever. Flat bench addict definitely...I had the whole gym just staring when I threw up the weights on bench and on DBs. Felt very weird as I am not used to that. Guess that's what happens at a small gym. I also did some stretching with the flys that felt great as well.

Weight: 208 +3 lbs

Target Group: (Chest)

Chest
Flat Bench Press: 235x10; 250x8; 275x5; 295x2; 305x1; 225x12 + 305x1 I went up in just about everything this week..a lot more reps too..I popped the 305 up so damn easy..

DB Incline Press: 60x10; 70x10; 70x10; 80x10; 60x10 + 80x10

Flat Bench Flys: 4x10 (35; 40; 45; 50) + 50x10 Felt a good stretch here...

Dips: BWx18; BWx15; BWx14; BWx12; - 6 dip reps These felt great, I was only down 6 reps which isn't bad considering I did one less set here than I did last week.

Diet:
Meal: 3 whole egg tuna omelet w/ skim cheese; 3 slices turkey bacon and small whole wheat waffle (Breakfast of champs)
Meal: Animal Snak Protein Bar (I had to stay in Superior Court all day)
Meal: Small serving of lasagna w/ small salad
Meal: Real Gains Shake
Meal: Torrent
Meal: Half whole wheat turkey sandwich and small salad
Meal: Cottage Cheese and Melotonin

Thoughts:
I am definitely getting stronger and the weights are increasing slightly each week. I tried to start off bench press heavier than I typically do and I felt great. I had to spend all day in court so my meals weren't as much food as I would have liked but I got in some quality. Those Animal Snak bars are good... its a shame we don't hear about them any more than we do. I highly recommend them.

I normally dont go with the chest/tri's thing because my tri's are so done by the time I wanna hit them on chest day..but I have to say, just hitting them with one or 2 major movements after chest really does the job cause right now my tri's are so sore and I only did one heavy tri's exercise after chest, like you did here with dips.

Just wanted to say with Superior Court all this week and next.. it will be tough for me to check all the journeys as I have been doing but I will catch up ASAP on them. For the mean time I will check them as much as I can.

Today I had my first back day without having to worry about cramming in shoulders or arms or whatever else. In other words, felt outstanding to have a day just to back. I felt like I was able to target more of my lats this workout as well by incorporating lat pull downs. We don't have a lat pull down machine in the gym (I know who the hell doesn't have one of these...but remember my gym is small)...so I rigged up a stool looking thing to sit on and a straight bar to attach to the cable machine and wham I had a lat pull down machine. Had a good pause with these and a deep stretch in the lats. My deads stayed the same this week but I felt good with them. I didn't do as many reps as I did last week but I still maintained and am looking to improve as I go on. Deads really drain ya..and doing them in the middle of the workout was a gut check for real. I also just performed 3/4 deads to take away emphasis from my legs and just focus on the back portion of this lift. Seemed to help out a lot as my back felt more of the emphasis and I stretched it out afterwards with a few hypers.

On a side note, I weighed myself this morning just to notice any changes...sure enough I was back down to 206...I guess some of that weight I had Monday morning was water weight... argh... that gives me a total change of + 1 lb and not the +3 as I previously thought. It is definitely a lot harder to put on weight than I thought. Well clean weight at least.

Target Group: (Back/Abs)

Back
Pull Ups (Wide Grip): 4x8 + 4 reps

Lat Pull Downs (Wide Grip): 3x15 (140; 170; 200)

3/4 Deadlifts: 225x12; 275x10; 315x10; 365x5... no change...

DB Rows: 3x12 (90) + 90s whole time

Abs
Decline Situps: 1x25; 1x20; 1x20

Hanging Leg Raises: 3x15

Cable Crunches: 100x25; 100x25; 120x15; 120x15

Diet:
Meal: 3 whole eggs, 1 egg whites w/ 3 slices turkey bacon and 2 small whole grain waffles
Meal: Animal Snak Protein Bar (These things are good...once again stuck in court all day)
Meal: Meat Lasagna and serving of strawberries
Meal: Vanilla Real Gains
Meal: Torrent
Meal: 6.5 oz Chicken Breast w/ green beans, small salad, and small potato
Meal: Protein Shake w/ Natty PB
Meal: 1.5 cups of Cottage Cheese

Thoughts:
I saw some younger guys in there today that I haven't seen before. They had the typical cut off sleeves and lifting heavy weights, cheating every rep, and using horrible form. I went over and explained how to properly do some of the exercises they were doing and how to use less weight to get a better muscle contraction...but they seemed to just ignore me and kept doing what they were doing. I have never seen so many cheat reps and piss poor form. No I am not an expert but I do know a few things here and there. The saying is true... You can lead a horse to water but you can't make 'em drink.

Killer session Burt! I love the improvised lat pulldowns, that's reallly cool. Yup, doing deads in the middle or end of the workout really is different, they definitely take something out of ya. No worries about the weight bro, the important thing is that you're doing it clean. I'm sure you'll start gaining more once you can get more whole food meals in. Keep on killing it bro!

Great back day Burt! Improvising is sometimes necessary to stay on track. Looking good with those 3/4 deads! I'm gonna try and pull some big weights next week when I hit them up. Might get in a whole work out of weighted chins and deads!! Like 6 sets or more of each. Hey with that shake in the evenning like meal 7 throw in half a cup of oats!!!! Or eat a whole one since you should be at home. That will help because you can get a few extra good clean cals in versus the shake. Just my take though!

Your weight gain over all is good. Slow and Steady wins this race!

As for the new guys, I just watch them and don't offer any heel unless I perceive they would like it or ask for it. I've done what you did a few times with the same and even worse results. They are there to do what they are doing. They don't give a rats ass about doing it right and making gains. They are more concerned with how big the number is on the side of the dumbbell, instead of how big the arm is.

Your a good guy for trying to help. Now, may you gain back any time you waisted on these doods for your own benefit since they obviously didn't want the help.

Slow and steady always wins... yeah I didn't have a chance to pre-cook food (been busier than shit).. well I fixed that last night by staying up and cooking some chicken. Geez so much work into getting huge.

Yeah thats a great point Shaff. No I don't use wrist wraps... Do you think that helps? Before I was doing pull ups on a straight bar..now they are on one of those bent lat pulldown looking bars. I just think it's me getting used to that new grip or something of that nature. Oh well just gotta keep pushing it.

Alright. I am winding down with only 2 weeks and 2 days left of my internship. This means full focus the rest of summer in having fun and getting huge. It will definitely allow me more time to focus on lagging parts and getting a more solid diet (less shakes / bars). I will be using more of the titan training, diet, and so forth as I am able to get more time to do so. Today's shoulder routine was pretty much based from the Titan workout with a few parts mixed in for good measure. My delts were on fire the entire workout...and still are...

Target Group: (Shoulders)

Shoulders
Standing Barbell Military Presses: Warmup; 95x12; 135x10; 145x10; 155x8; 155x6 dropset 135x5

Side Raises: 3x10 (25)

Front Raises (Arnold Style): 3x10 (25)

Bent Over Raises: 3x10 (20; 25; 30)

Seated DB Shrugs: 3x10 (70)

Barbell Shrugs: 3x10 (225; 275; 295) + 295x10

Diet:
Meal: 4 whole eggs w/ 3 slices turkey bacon and 2 small whole grain waffles
Meal: Real Gains Shake
Meal: 6.5 oz of Chicken w/ large salad
Meal: Animal Snak Protein Bar (pre); Torrent (post)
Meal: 6.5 oz Chicken Breast w/ 2 small potatoes
Meal: 2 cups of Cottage Cheese

Thoughts:
Argh.. lately I feel like I have been on the run non stop. I drive 20 minutes to my internship, been worked like crazy (its superior court week) and then I drive 20 minutes back to knock out my workouts before the gym closes (they close early on some days). Being on the rush like this all the time really stresses and frustrates the piss outta me. Oh well I am almost done with it.

I forgot to bring in my straps today so my shrugs could have been heavier had I been properly equipped. Oh well...always next time...

I will also be going to the House's show that he is hosting coming up. Should be a blast.

Great workout DA! You don't see to many people doing standing military press. That is tricky and wish I could do it but not with my lower back. Solid workout there Burt! Workin' on some boulder shoulders for sure bro. I bet you can't wait for the internship to be over, but then again, it's definitely worthwhile. Hey bro with regards to your post in my thread, just be patient!! 2 weeks then its major solid food. Remember how much fuller I started looking when I ate solids over the spring? The same will happen for you and its so much fun! Getting big is hard work, but work that is well worth it and on top of that work that you and I, unlike some we know, are willing to do without cutting corners. The food prep, the chewing, the flipping chicken breast they all add up to success. But keep doing what your doing now, because good clean cals from any source is better than half assing. Remember " YOU GOT TO S@*$ BIG, TO GET BIG" . haha

Great shoulder day! Standing BB military WAHOO!!! Just think for 2 months you get to pound the weights and eat a ton. That sounds like a great summer to me!

Abductor and Adductor machines LOL! They are actually very good to use as they hit muscles you don't hit with other exercises. I've tried them but feel way out of place on them. I get on and within 1 minute there is a line of 10 old ladies standing around me waiting for them so it makes ya feel a little out of place. Which (you have to know my personality to appreciate this) makes me smile and want to use them more often and for longer periods of time. LOL!

Being on the rush like this all the time really stresses and frustrates the piss outta me. Oh well I am almost done with it.

I will also be going to the House's show that he is hosting coming up. Should be a blast.

Way to press the delts bratha! I feel ya on the non-stop life comin at ya thing. Hang tight bro, breaks always come.

I want to make that House event badly! I am thinking I'll need to carpool though.

You know, I am starting to see more and more guys using those add/abd machines; they are very good indeed. I use them every leg wo, just dont post them..but Im always sore after using them. I know cause your sore in different areas asopposed to how sore you get form squats or other leg exercises. Im doin them to help me with my box squats cause box squats just kill my inner thighs.

They are good for just stretching your inner thigh area too. Sometimes, like with the adductor one, (thats the inner thigh one right? LOL), I just go as wide as I can and hold it and stretch (in the open leg position, LOL...Im facing a wall thank God! LOL)..it hurts like hell, but it also feels good to stretch with the weight like that. I do the same with other one too.

Great workout DA! You don't see to many people doing standing military press. That is tricky and wish I could do it but not with my lower back. Also, have fun at your job and only two weeks left on your internship. Finish that shit strong and then hit the gym like it owes you money! Keep going big man.

Yeah I can't wait. The count down began sooo long agoooo

Solid workout there Burt! Workin' on some boulder shoulders for sure bro. I bet you can't wait for the internship to be over, but then again, it's definitely worthwhile. And you'll still have a good two months or so to enjoy the summer. The House's show should be a badass time bro, I wish I could go.

Thanks Phil... yeah you should join us there at the House's show...

I know wise one.. I know... slow and steady winning this race... and what if you already Im glad you finally learned to bold. And yeah it will be a perfect summer...

LOL!

Way to press the delts bratha! I feel ya on the non-stop life comin at ya thing. Hang tight bro, breaks always come.

I would volunteer to carpool with ya but I'm coming from the south... I am sure someone will want to go from your ways...I can't imagine any man on the hip abductors haha...And I can't wait for my break to come...

I have decided no measurements until I am done with my externship. So you have another two raw hard weeks of luscious goodness and lots of bulking. I will just go by the measurements I had last time I measured (back when I was cutting). Should be interesting to see where I have grown. Hopefully trying to catch everything up to my chest. Doing so I embarked on this stubborn arm exercise...

Target Group: (Guns)

Bis
Standing Barbell Curls: 95x10; 100x10; 105x8 REST PAUSE 105x2; 95x10 + 105x8

One Arm DB Preacher Curl: 3x10 (each arm) (30)

Hammer Curls: 3x10 (40; 45; 50)

Tris:
Overhead DB Tri Extension: 3x12 (90)

One Arm Overhead DB Tri Extension: 3x10 (30; 35; 40)

Close Grip Bench Press: 4x10 (135; 155; 185; 185) + 185x10

One Arm Pushdowns: 4x10 (40; 40; 50; 50)

Diet:
Meal: 4 whole eggs w/ 3 slices turkey bacon and 2 whole wheat pancakes (small)
Meal: Whole Wheat Turkey Sandwich w/ lettuce and skim milk string cheese
Meal: 6.5 oz of Chicken w/ green beans
Meal: Animal Snak Protein Bar (pre); Torrent (post)
Meal: Shrimp w/ baked potato, salad, green beans
Meal: 2 cups of Cottage Cheese

Thoughts:
I'm just plain exhausted. I really am worn the hell out with all the running around. In two weeks I rest though.

u know sometimes we can wear our minds out just thinking about all the running around we have to do.

take it easy! you are sticking solid to the diet. very smooth and i am going to copy your tricep exercises from today and take them for a whirl myself in 40 mins. the joy for me is that i am at the gym, working. so there is no drive to get there. i just wait til close and i have the whole place to myself. i am the only person here now but if i start a workout before the place closes, u can be sure the phone will ring non stop and people will come out of no where just to interrupt me.

i spent my lunch break shooting hoops and playing some tennis. tough job.

Lucky. I am trying to get lined up with a gym right now...I even put an app in at GNC in town... just trying to get some kind of cash flow. I am mowing some grass today.. that makes $20 towards my "dream" stack. Let me know how you like those tri exercises. They are pretty good. I understand about you working out and then everyone wants to pop in or call.. thats how it always is brother.

Keep doing what you're doing.

I was awaken today by my dad running downstairs at 8 this morning and telling me to get up. He was ready to lift. Haha. I think I might have created a monster. I have never seen anyone so happy for leg day. Granted I love leg day... but it was great to finally see him excited about going in there. Arrived at the gym and there was hardly anyone in there. Time for destruction and walking funny.

On a side note, I am sorry I haven't been able to catch up on everyone's journeys. Don't worry in two weeks I should have all the time in the world. Things are just slammed right now...

Target Group: (Wheelz / Abs)

Legs
Leg Extensions: 150x10; 170x20; 200x10 (Get that blood flowing)

Squats: 135x20; 225x15; 225x15; 275x12; 315x10 + Mo' Weight..Mo' Reps

Hack Squats: 3x10 (Not sure the weight here... I think it was 2 plates per side...maybe a plate and a quarter on one or two sets... I know I'm slacking)

Leg Curls: 3x10 (150) + Used 150 whole time

Standing Calf Raises: 4x25 (275) + 50 lbs here I collapsed after each one of these

Abs
Decline Sit Ups: 100 reps

Roman Chair Leg Raises: 60 reps

Diet
Meal: (Pre (Whey Protein Shake) / Post (Torrent..nothing else matters!))
Meal: 6 eggs w/ 2 slices bacon, hash browns, 2 pancakes (YUM!)

The rest of my meals are to be determined today. I will be traveling up to Boone, NC so I will be doing what I can to eat as clean as possible while traveling. Rest assured there will be lots of meat and veggies. That 6 egg meal was delicious today by the way for anyone cutting. I took my dad out after the hard workout and we did some shopping around (so the Torrent could be absorbed...and bout an hour and a half later went to get some breakfast). The waitress bout shit a brick when I ordered 6 eggs (egg beaters). Haha. Grow baby grow!

Thoughts:
I really hate having to travel here and there each weekend. I just want to rest and be around my place where I am comfortable and have lots of food nearby. Oh well...I will make it work. That's why I have a cooler in my car.

Learned that my normal gym will be closed early next week...so I will be lifting at another gym down the road. This gym is set up as a Mixed Martial Arts type of gym everywhere. It's a solid set up but a lot of hassle with the kung fuing and Bruce Lees next door. They do have more equipment so should be a hell of a week.

Time to limp and crawl my ass around all day. My dad is already commenting on how his legs hurt. Ha.

We don't get to see each other but on weekends due to my externship and her work, but it is always a great time together. Only bad part is I hate not having food at my disposal all the time like I am used too. I actually get irritated when I can't eat how I want to or feel like it's meal time and I have no food. At least I am bulking and am able to stretch the limits now and again with it. I am still keeping it a long clean bulk until I am prolly around 225 or 230. I may go more but I think that will be it for now...unless I am convinced otherwise or am not happy with the progress. I hate weighing myself on Mondays due to excess water weight from the weekend...therefore I have decided to just weight in every Wednesday Morning...

So far I feel pretty good about the bulk. I feel like my legs have grown as my dress pants are a lot tighter in my thighs than they ever have been...my suit jacket feels tight as hell on my arms and I feel like I could rip the back of it if I flexed hard enough...so something is going right.

I firmly attest that I am a flat bench addict... G is there a FBA anywhere? (Flat Benchers Anonymous)

Target Group: (Chest)

Chest
Flat Bench Press: 235x10; 250x8; 275x5; 295x2.5; 310x1; 225x13 + 310x1; 225x13 Felt great today... the 275 was a bitch this week and I almost just said fuck it after struggling to get the 5 up. Just did a gut check and continued... almost blasted the 295 for a solid 3 this week... got it bout half way up and had to have a little push. Blasted the 310 pretty clean and solid and I didn't even feel as good about this week as I did last week. I destroyed the 225 after wards for 13 reps (technically 14 but I won't count it since I had to have a slight tap at the end of it). I was feeling SUPER pumped here.

DB Incline Press: 4x10 (65; 70; 80; 80x10 *DROP SET* 60x5) + 80s for 2 sets The drop set was bru-TAL here.

Flat Bench Flys: 3x10 (40s) Stretched as far as I could on these... - 10 lbs Lower weight but the stretch felt incredible...

Pec Deck: 3x10 (70)

Weighted Dips: (w/ 25 lb); 4x10 These felt incredible... my tris are going to be killing me...

Light Cardio: Did this new thing called "jogging" (pronounced "yogging" the J is silent...) Just did 12 mins... bout a 1.15 miles... no time breakers but did feel good to get some blood flow going.

Diet:
Meal: 2 scoops Whey (We ran out of eggs!?!); 2 whole wheat pancakes; 4 slices Turkey Bacon... Don't worry bought more eggs for tomorrow!
Meal: Protein Bar (Stuck in Superior Court again...)
Meal: 6 or 7 oz of Steak w/ onions, red/green peppers
Meal: 5 oz of Tuna w/ 12 Wheat Thins
Meal: Whey Shake (Pre); Torrent (Post)
Meal: 6 oz of Chicken Breast; Green Beans; Baked Potato
Meal: Whey w/ Oats and PB and Melatonin

Water: 2 - 2.5 Gallons

Thoughts:
I ran into some people I haven't seen since 2002 today. One guy couldn't believe how "jacked" I looked and how "huge" my chest had gotten. Those are his words not mine. Another kid swore I played football for some big school... I had to quickly dispel these stories even though it hurt to do so. Broc we should try out for some arena ball!

Overall I feel great about the progress I have made thus far and work towards adding weight and reps to everything I do each and every day now. I am also working on getting my dad a log book set up. Haha.

Shit almost forgot, worked out at a new gym and just blew the top off of it with chest day today. You should have seen the faces of some of the people there while they just watched me bench and then incline DB right after it. I don't think they could believe it. Once again as Arnold says in Pumping Iron, "It's Getting Closer." I may not have 20 inch arms yet but I will be damned if I won't be close to a 50 inch chest.

Nah, the most I have ever benched for one rep is 325. Yeah the dips after chest were insanely pleasurable. Haha the jogging was due in part to me just wanting to get some blood flow... trust me it was no marathon style... felt good to get on there though not gonna lie...

I am slowly trying to build my bench up to surpass everything I have ever done on there before. Slowly but surely it is coming and each week it's improving. I couldn't ask for much more.

I want to get 3 pies on incline too, because if we go above 3 pies on both incline and flat we will have monster chests!!!! Like the 4 exercise deal, keepin it simple and promoting crazy growth.

Arena football? Sweet deal I told you I could get us a try out pretty easily, seeing as how my cousin is a coach in the Arena 1 league.

EAT, EAT, EAT! 3 more weeks, a week off then I will do the same and Operation Big Broc will be in effect!

Damn bro! Lots of volume and lots of big weight!! Great job and congrats on the compliments. It always feels good to see hard working going noticed.

Thanks for stopping by MR. Da. I am excited to see what this program is going to believe. It is about time I start putting up my numbers again. Enough dropsets and supersets. It is time to get to work.

Anytime Sly... Can't wait to see your progress!

YO super chest killer work out!!! Good stuff bro. When the bulk fires back up and we are at school I feel mid 300's coming soon, at least for you. haha I should be close though.

Operation Big Broc huh? Can't wait to see it. I hear ya on the 3 caddys on incline we got that soon...Yeah definitely trying to promote growth all around... Tell your cousin to line us something up haha or we can try to find something closer to home... just grow and eat and rest and repeat! 50 inch chest here I come...

look good with the chest work brother!

with those 2.5 gallons of water you pissing ever 10 minutes too haha

Thanks Shaff.. I used to piss a lot now my body has grown accustom to it somehow... I still do piss a lot though haha.. how much you consuming?

Damn bro! Lots of volume and lots of big weight!! Great job and congrats on the compliments. It always feels good to see hard working going noticed.

Damn all I thought about today was lifting. I was looking forward to lifting from the moment I walked into the court room today. Dead lifts were on my mind...I was constantly hungry...DAMN, I was eager to lift. Had some great quality sleep (thanks melatonin) and am looking forward to what I weigh in at on Wednesday. If everything goes well this will be my last week out of the house and traveling for my externship. Now I am trying to grease the wheels for letters of recommendation and so forth before I leave. Cuz we all know its all about WHO YOU KNOW. Ran into that same guy from 2002 that I played ball with and I told him my plans about bulking hoping to put on a solid 20. He said if that was the case I would be damn near "untouchable" haha. He said I was already close it. I felt honored but looking in the mirror I felt far from it. He is in no means in terrible shape either but I am just harder on myself and strive for perfection. I yearn for progress and growth. I am on my way to becoming yoHUGE.

Target Group: (Back/Abs)

Back
Pull Ups: 3x8 (Wide Grip/Reverse Grip/Close Grip); Assisted Pull Up Machine 2x10 (80 resistance) + Mo' Reps I added the assisted pull ups at the end to really get in good contractions and squeezes at the top of this movement.. felt great! I also varied my grip up each time.

3/4 Deadlifts: 225x12; 275x12; 315x12; 365x7; 405x2; 415x1 + 415x1 Shit was heavy but felt great and strong in the back. I also did more reps this week.

Bentover BB Rows: 2x12 (135; 155) Used less weight but just did 3 second squeezes at the top... felt incredible...
*SUPER SET W/*
DB Rows: 2x12 (90; 95) + 95s

Lat Pulldowns: (Wide Grip/Reverse Grip/V-Bar/Behind the Neck) 4x12 (100) Varied up the grips...the 100 setting on this machine felt super heavy compared to other machines... not sure whats up with that...

Abs
Decline Situps: 100 reps + 35 reps

Hanging Leg Raises: 4x10-15

Diet:
Meal: 4 whole eggs w/ 3 slices turkey bacon and 1 whole wheat pancake
Meal: Whole Wheat Turkey Sandwich w/ Lettuce, a Banana, and skim string cheese
Meal: 6 oz of Grilled Chicken w/ cup of whole grain brown rice
Meal: Can of Tuna w/ cup of whole grain brown rice
Meal: Whey Shake (Pre) / Torrent (Post..YUM!)
Meal: 2 Turkey Burger Patties w/ large sweet potato
Meal: Bedtime Protein Shake w/ Natty PB & 1/2 cup of oats

Water: 2-2.5 gallons

Thoughts:
I had a great back workout. I actually went as heavy as I have gone in awhile on 3/4 deads. 415 was heavier than I thought it would be. I just locked it out once and then set it down. 405 was easier than I thought... I should have done more than just two reps with it. But shit that gives me something to look forward to next week. My back felt really strong today and I think the extra reps in pull ups helped out. The varied grips throughout the workout let me feel like I was working different areas as well. Loved it.

I can still see my top two abs and I feel like the size I am putting on is definitely becoming more and more quality size. Can't wait to see how this goes. Can someone tell me when you know when to stop bulking? I can't decide at which weight I want to hit another brief cut before starting more bulking... or what to do. Any advice is greatly warranted...

Sick workout Burt! Looking good bro, those are some strong deads, and that superset sounds brutal! That's awesome too about running into those people you haven't seen in awhile, a little boost to the ego doesn't hurt every now and then. Gotta stay grounded and objective though, like you said. Thanks Phil... yeah I definitely gotta stay grounded... The super set was a bitch and a half but well worth it... my lats are reminding me of that now... the deads were one of the strongest sessions I have had in a while... 5 lbs shy of my PR and I wasn't even trying to get a PR in it... looking forward to next week.

Excellent work DA. You flogged your back and those deads are damn good. I bet you that felt really good. As far as bulking go I think the standard is bulk for 8 months and cut for 4. That is what I have read, but go with your gut.

Solid work Burt! The 3/4 Deads are they like Rack Pulls? Do you not have a power rack? I'm all confused!!! Good stuff with the super set too!!! I agree with sly on the typical 8 months bulk 4 months cut. I think I'm going to not truly start bulking until school starts and do it for the whole time we are there so that should be roughly 8 months. Planning on maintaining through July and most of August.

great intensity, good volume...415 is awesome pulling. Just for your info, since lats seem to be one of your areas you want to develop...

lower lat regions (which is what im working on bringing up), any back exercsies with a narrow or close grip...chins, pulldowns (med grip pulldowns too), single cable and db rows.

Lat development overall from a rear and front view...anything wide grip pull-ups and pulldowns are the primary exercises for achieving this.

Stretching your lats is really important as with any muscle groups. It lengthens the muscles and helps you get greater range of motion for lifts...deeper contractions too.

I am trying to stay lean while bulking which is incredibly hard. I had no idea it was this rough. Of course, granted I have put on a few I have been trying to keep everything as lean as I can. I don't want anything to get too far out of control.

Today I did the inevitable weigh in. I was anxious to see how I was progressing and wanted to make sure I wasn't gaining too much too quickly... I definitely do not want to put on garbage weight...I don't want to put on so much dirty weight that its like cutting season all over again or I feel ashamed for letting myself get so out of control. There just isn't any need for that. Especially after once being a "lard ass" myself. With that in mind I have been setting out on a clean bulking journey trying to pack on as much lean mass as I possibly can. I realized this journey was tough, but I had no idea how hard it was to put on good clean weight. Anyone can go out and destroy fast food every meal and pack on 20 lbs within a month. But to sit there and do it clean... oh shit its like a miracle to even see 5 lbs in a month and that's prolly stretching it a bit too much. Since taking in carbs once again, I have noticed substantial growth... and that's what matters. Due to water weight and intake from last night, I give a little range...

Weight: 207 to 208 + 1 - 2 lbs

It is definitely getting closer.

Target Group: (Shoulders...Delts)

Shoulders
Seated Smith Machine Military Press: 135x12; 185x10; 205x10; 225x4 *dropset* 185x8 + 225x4 **PR** My delts were instantly on fire...

Arnold Press: 4x10 (50; 55; 60; 55) + 60s

Shrugs: 3x12 (225; 275; 315) + 315 I shouldn't count these as I have done heavier... but hell it is the heavier than last time...

Barbell Upright Rows: 85x12; 115x10; 115x10 +115x10 **PR** These destroyed me...

Side Raises: 3x10 (25)

Front Raises (Pumping Iron Style): 3x10 (20)

Cardio: Very light "jogging" (slight J) for bout 12 minutes... nothing fancy just blood flow and getting the lungs/heart some work.

Diet:
Meal: 4 whole eggs w/ 3 slices turkey bacon and 1.5 cups of Oats
Meal: Animal Snak Bar (Superior Court... sigh...)
Meal: 7 oz of Grilled Chicken w/ large salad, onions, green peppers
Meal: Whey Shake (Pre) / Torrent (Post)
Meal: 1.5 Servings of Whole Wheat Spaghetti w/ Meat, Sauce
Meal: Bedtime Protein Shake w/ Natty PB & 1/2 cup of oats

Water: 2-2.5 gallons

Thoughts:
Felt incredible in there today. Set some PRs today which is always good. I remember last time I did 225 on military press I only got it once and struggled with it. This time I got a solid 4... technically 5 but I won't count that last rep as it was UGLY. Also set or matched my PR on upright rows. These felt insane. My delts and whole shoulder region is just on fire at this point. I was getting a few looks from some of the other guys in there... and one guy who said he was 20 weeks out from a show said I was looking strong and told me I should try one show sometime down the road.

Progress...progress...progress. Each day I yearn for progress. Desire determines destiny!

Thank you so much Toni. I normally have those quotes running through my head all the time. Yeah clean bulk is definitely the way to go. Last year I did a dirty bulk and I put the weight on fast and just looked fat. I didn't look stronger/bigger... just fatter after following some wrong advice from someone. I like your way of thinking too...after all you are the one destroying it constantly in there. Destroy those smitty militarys! The Animal Snak bars are good... I believe Hoomgar described them perfect when he called them a big tootsie roll...

Pumping Iron style is where you do the front raises and instead of stopping when you get eye level as you raise the DBs, you go beyond that. Saw Arnold doing them this way in the movie Pumping Iron. Old school...

Leg day always confuses me. No, it's not a math problem to figure out or how much weight to do... it's always what exercises do I want to do to destroy my legs. It is always a toss up... Squats? Hacks? Leg Press? Straight Leg Deads? I never know so it is always just a "go by how I feel" type of deal on leg day. Lately I have been feeling volume...lots of squat volume...

Target Group: (Wheelz / Abs)

Legs
Leg Extensions: 120x15; 120x15; 150x10 (Get that blood flowing)

Squats: 135x30; 185x20; 225x15; 275x12; 315x12 + 315x12

Leg Press: 200x25; 290x20; 400x15; 490x12 (Feel the burn)

Lying Leg Curls: 3x12 (80; 90; 80)

Abs
Cable Crunches: (Middle; Left; Right) 4x12 (80; 90; 100; 110) Squeezed those abs the whole time...

Diet:
Meal: 4 whole eggs; 1.5 cups of oats; 3 slices turkey bacon
Meal: Can of Tuna; 10 Wheat Thins; Skim string cheese
Meal: Serving of Whole Wheat Spaghetti
Meal: Animal Snak (Pre); Torrent (Post)
Meal: Footlong Honey Oat Bread Sub (Turkey, Ham, Lettuce, Onions) from Subway (This was spaced out... ate 6 inch in and bout 30 minutes later ate the other 6)

Water: 2 - 2.5 gallons

Thoughts:
My legs are going to be hurting tomorrow. I tried to do more reps this week and I think I accomplished that. I waived doing calves today, but I will be hitting them quick and hard today with arms. I also have an interview with the owner of the gym... I think he wants to hire me. Oh yeah Cash Flow! That subway sub was delicious tonight, and I don't even really like subway...

Good luck with that interview... Cash flow is always a BONUS... I miss my summer cash flow, but since I am training, there's A LOT of "fun" stuff that I can't spend $$$ on anyway... EXCEPT food... THAT'S where the CASH goes now...

Nice leg day bro plain, simple, effective! I have been doing about all my training "by feel" as of late. Go in with a general plan, but nothing is ever set in stone. Been doing the how does that body part look in the mirror. haha answer on my end bad in all departments so things have been wild.

Diet looks great bro! MMM Pasta!

You had the tape measure out yet?

Job at the gym sweet. I will be doing lawyer work at my site right now for the rest of the summer pretty sure. Its money which means more Animal/Universal stuff!

Thanks yeah it was a bitch getting it... I over heard two old guys talking before I lifted it. They said there is no way he will get low enough with it or even get parralel to count it and that kids do that all the time to inflate their lifts... they promptly shut the fuck up as I went down touched the parallel bars and popped it back up each time.

I watched some dude "F*&% the door nob" last week with 275 on the smitty machine!!! I was like wtf buddy. His jaw dropped when I did 315 x 15 in there to about 3 inches below parallel. He quietly turned and walk away!!!! AHHHHH Good stuff from the knuckleheads at the gym up here. hahah

way to go on that leg day, high rep squats are one of the things I hate and love at the same time... idk, for me it's just tougher to do 25-30 reps with a light weight (though your weights are not exactly light for me haha) than 3 reps going heavy

so, great work, you are making solid progress

Everyone here knows how frustrated I have been with my arms being so damn stubborn to grow. With that regard, I borrowed a page from Hola's workout and decided to do some alternating bi / tri work. The results left me unable to bend my arms fully after the first set due to the incredible pump. I also increased the volume a lot...I didn't go as strong but I got in a lot more reps.

Target Group: (Guns)

Guns
Standing Barbell Curls: Barx20 (Warm Up); 65x15; 95x10; 95x10; 85x15 dropset 65x10 dropset Barx10 (Insane dropsets here I couldn't believe the pump) - Less Weight but Much More Volume
*In Between Each Working Set of These I Superset w/*
Over Head Rope Extensions: 90x25; 100x25; 110x20; 120x15 + Lots Mo Volume

One Arm DB Preacher Curls: 3x10 (30; 25; 25) - 30s were almost impossible after that crazy starter (These really stretched out my biceps and felt great)
*Superset w/*
Close Grip Bench Press: 135x15; 155x15; 155x15; 155x15 - Less Weight Mo Reps

Hammer Curls: 3x10 (40; 45; 45) - 5 lbs here
*Super Set w/*
Overhead DB Tri Extensions: 3x12 (80; 85; 90)
*Super Set w/*
DB Kickbacks: 2x15 (15)

Instead of doing a third set of kickbacks I decided to do a set of One Arm Cable Pushdowns (30x15) and an immediate set of BW Dips till absolute failure.

Diet:
Meal: 4 whole eggs w/ 3 slices turkey bacon and 1.5 cups of oats
Meal: Chicken Breast w/ Banana
Meal: 6 oz of Chicken Breast w/ Beans, Onions, Peppers
Meal: Whey Shake w/ PB and Oats (pre); Torrent (post)
Meal: 3 Hamburger Patties (One was on a bun); Pasta Salad; Beans (It was a cook out... geeez)
Meal: Whey/Casein Shake w/ Melatonin

Thoughts:
I had everyone in the gym (all 6 of 'em) staring at me each time I went to lift and complete the set. I just stayed focused and dominated the workout. I decided on going lighter in the weights (not by much though) and just getting in tons of volume. I also liked working on both the bi and the tri at the same time. The pump in my arms was insane..I literally couldn't bend my arms fully. Ah... such a great sign. Hopefully all that beef I consumed later will aid in the process as well. Rest and recover all weekend.

My interview went great with the gym owner and I will fill everyone in on the details once I have word. Have a great weekend!

When I do the bi then tri back to back or super-set I always feel stronger on the second ecercise. Just wanted to see if you experienced it too.

Grant, I always liked to drink it with cold water. The times I didnt have access to cold water it still went down smooth and tasted delicious. That was the Cherry berry flavor though. I'll let Burt answer for the Green Apple.

My tris felt great... I am not sure if they were stronger but I felt like I could do a lot more reps... hence all the volume I induced on them... I did notice the arm pump was insane working both of them like this and I couldn't fully bend my arms during the exercises... was an insane pump.. I kept stretching my arms after every set...

I haven't taken measurements since April from the looks of my records... I guess it was time to see if I spurred any growth and so forth. Here are the before (April) measurements and the current changes. All of these are un-flexed except my arms.

Measurements:

Arms: 16.25 (if that) / 16 3/8ths + 1/8th Slow and steady...

Chest: 44.5 / 45.25 + 0.5 When I flexed this a little it went almost to 46.5!

Thighs: 23.75 / ~24 + 0.25 These were pretty much right at 24.

Calves: 16 / 16.5 + 0.5

Forearms: 12.5 / 12.75 + 0.25

Shoulders: 53 / 54 + 1.0

Neck: 16 / 16 *No Change*

Waist: ~32 / ??? (Measuring Wednesday)

Thoughts:
Overall I am pleased with the developments here as everything I wanted to move up has moved up. I am glad my neck has stayed the same as I don't want a fat neck... My waist I am sure has gone up a lil but that is expected during bulking. I do know that I haven't moved from the same belt notch and I can still see my top two abs so I am not letting it get out of control. I will measure it Wednesday when I do my weigh in.

Well today I walked into my gym and was halted at the door by the owner. After speaking with him, he offered me a job to work at the gym, train for free, and help train others. He is also helping me obtain my CPT materials and testing. He is also looking at obtaining another supplement vendor to re stock his inventory and wants me to help sell as well. Now you know my ass is gonna be pushing Animal/Universal all the way! Anyways seems like a straight job to do while finishing up the summer and possibly into the school year. Things are definitely looking up to have cash flow finally back. Dream stack here I come.

After being hired I was in a great mood and just destroyed chest. I only had one down side and that is when I asked for a spot when I was about to bench 315. I had it 3/4ths the way up and was slowly locking it out when the spotter just put his hands on it and tapped the bar up with way too much force. I was irate; but I stayed calm. I hate when people do that as you are locking it out and finishing it on your own. Argh. I had to take out the frustration so that's why I did 295 again and instantly dropped to the burnout 225 set instead of taking a quick breather. Sigh. Next week I will have to firmly explain to the spotter about this.

Target Group: (Chest / Abs)

Chest
Flat Bench Press: 235x10; 255x8; 275x5; 295x3; 315x0.75 (Damn spotter); 295x2 immediate dropset 225x11 .... I felt really strong today and very focused. So strong and focused that I didn't even bother with a lift off or a spotter until I attempted the 315. I know some of you are saying that's dangerous; which it is... but I firmly had control over the weight the entire time and did not even struggle once with any of the reps. I also bumped the weight up a bit on the set of 8 here. I will be bumping up the rest of the weights in another few weeks again.

Incline Bench Press: 165x10; 185x8; 185x8; 185x8; 185x8 ... I want to start doing these more and get stronger here as well.

Decline DB Flys: 3x10 (30)
*Superset w/ *
DB Pullovers: 3x10 (60; 60; 65)

Weighted Dips: (w/ 45 lb); 4x10 What I couldn't get with the 45lb strapped to me I made up for by doing my BW till I collapsed at the end of each one.

Abs
Woodchoppers: 3x15 (90; 90; 100)

Decline Situps: 3x20

Diet:
Meal: 4 eggs; 2 cups Oats; 3 slices Turkey Bacon
Meal: Whey Protein (Pre); Torrent (Post)
Meal: Whey/Casein Protein Shake
Meal: 6.5 oz of Grilled Chicken Filet; Cup of Brocolli
Meal: 6 oz of King Mackerel Fish; cup of Shrimp; Whole Grain Brown Rice; Small Salad
Meal: 12 oz Skim Milk; Bed Time Shake; Melatonin

Water: 2 - 2.5 Gallons

Thoughts:
I am pumped about having a job now as I actually was running dangerously low on my finances. It is also a plus getting all the perks of the job as well and being able to train all day and help others reach their goals. What's awesome is he hooked my dad up with a killer deal on membership and I can continue to train him and get him back in shape. Everything's going good though and looking forward to progressing.

All great workouts bro and this is good news. This should work well to helping you achieve your goals man.

Today I just went in and focused on destroying my back. I have just placed an order for more Real Gains as I ran out. I also got a few goodies to add to my dream stack that is coming up very soon. Trust me you will know when I get it. In the mean time, while I was lifting today I saw a few guys I was helping yesterday. I guess now they know I actually work at the gym and lift as well--I have seen some that just work there and never touch weights in their life. That's like the people at GNC being extremely overweight trying to sell me a product that helped them transform their bodies while they are eating double cheeseburgers? Haha...trust me I have seen it and thought it was damn disgraceful.

On a side note, I have also began hitting up my abs more frequently. I feel this is one area that I have neglected so often and I know I need to actually work them to have them. My lower ab area is the worst...so I will be doing my damn-dest to work 'em. Anyone got any good lower ab exercises?

Thoughts:
Felt great today. My back was really tight after all the deads. I felt like the increased volume there really did the trick today. I opted to just do 315 more times instead of busting my ass on 405. All in all, a great back workout and my abs are feeling great as well. Ah... now time to play GTA before work.

Volume on Deads is the best way to do it bro! I think when I get back from the beach and do deads again I may do a straight set of 20 or more with 315... I crushed it for 15 last week... Looking strong with the 365 for 7, thats damn good stuff. I'm having carb jelousy from reading your daily diets!
