View Full Version : This May Seem Weird...
But i am having a lot of problems bulking. As i have stated in other threads, i am 16, 5'11", about 180 pounds. I am around 15% bf. I throw in cardio about once a week after a workout, because honestly i am afraid of getting fat. I am hesitant to eat certain things for fear of getting too big, so i eat MORE cleaner foods. However, this leads to me getting fuller faster, and thus i am not able to eat the amount i should be when bulking.
My question to you guys is what the FUCK should i do? Has anyone gone through this or IS anyone going through it? what should i do here, because this is what im most dedicated to...i want to do it right.

most people think bulking aka the off-season as some like to call it is a break from the diet and is the easy part of bodybuilding...however this is not the case and it can actually be just as hard as dieting. part of bulking is force feeding yourself meaning you have to eat even when you are not hungry. just keep plugging away eating everything in sight (mostly clean but dont be afraid to cheat a couple times a week) and you will surely gain mass like you stated is your main goal and since you say you are dedicated this is what must be done.

i feel where you are comin from, im in the same position, except i am doing alot more cardio than you, its just something i have to do with sports....heres my .02 make a couple of shakes throughout the day to drink, maybe 2-3, dont rely on them but utilize them..secondly you can take a look at on of G Diesels first DOM entries, where he states he was doing cardio so he could increase his metabolism(fat burning) as weel as making him hungry to take in more calories...and its ok to cheat in the offseason sometimes its the only way to get more calories in, but i think the best thing is to up ur cardio, keep it low intensity and just do about a 1/2 hr.
Don't forget my three favorite bulking foods... beef, potatoes, and peanut butter. No word of a lie, I've been known to eat a 2kg jar of pb over the course of a day. I wouldn't recommend eating THAT much, just be prepared to be backed up for a bit if you do.

alright here is sort of a breakdown of what i eat throughout the day
morning- protein shake
11- school lunch, stack tray w/ whatever i can
3- big cold cut sandwich, usually chicken breast with everything on it
4- 1/2 serving real gains shake
6- dinner (whatever momma makes)
9- other half of real gains
11- cottage cheese with apple sauce
im worried i wont be able to cut properly, and as a result, i will stay too large in the time succeeding my bulk. someone needs to talk some sense into me here
You need to add in more of everything.
Breakfast should be 6 eggs, oats and fruit.
Seriously you need to get your head straight as to what you want to do, bulk or cut and then follow a plan to suit, decide what it is you want then go read the diet articles.

if your right about being 15% bodyfat, then just eat enough to maintain that percentage and you will be getting enough calories to feed those muscles into growth. then as muscles grow your metabolism will speed up, so when the bodyfat % drops, eat more. make since?
i know everything needs to change it is just hard to afford a lot of things right now with everything the way it is. i will jsut have to get some cheap staples to my diet.
another question i had... should i worry about consistency with calories when bulking? or jsut focus on my macros?
for instance if i eat at 3 and i have 600 cals, then im really hungry at 6, can i have like 11 or 12 hundred? how will my body react to the jump?

you have to worry about either bulking or cutting right now. one at a time. dont worry about getting fat. who cares about a little belly fat when youre bulking. that goes away fast with a little hard work and dedication. your increase in muscle size will overshadow your increase in bodyfat anyway. maybe you should add a little more protein in there. are you getting 1.5 - 2 grams of protein for each lb? that could help in gaining lean muscle mass. blend some oats and yogurt in your morning shake. its good stuff and a kick start for your metabolism. after you are ready to cut, just add a few more days of cardio. you'll be fine. just forget the worries and look in one direction.
^ thank you man thats what i needed
its amazing how far encouragement and a few pointers can take someone.

man, you WONT stay TOO LARGE cause you WONT GET LARGE in the first place with that kinda diet.
here, you need talking sense to? you eat like a bitch, plain and simple. bulking time means eat all and everything in sight, its lke training, those last couple of mouthfulls of food are like those last reps squating or like a set of dropset 21's . they suck balls but are what makes you grow. if you dont have a job, i suggest getting one. when i got a job i gained like 15 pounds in 2 months and shot my bench press up by 50 pounds atleast. why? more money means more food. plain and simple.
here is a sample of my diet. im abit more then 180 pounds. 5 foot 7.
meal 1. 1000 calorie shake, 65 grams protien and 100 carbs in it
meal 2. 7 servings of rice, 300 gram chicken breast, can of cream of chicken soup. i mix it and eat it. 200 carbs, 70 grams protien and 1200 cals
meal 3. 6 sevings(2 cups) of oatmeal, cup of juice and cup of water. i blend it and drink. then some whey. 1100 cals, 25 grams protien and 190 carbs
meal 4 is PWO. 2 scoops whey and 6 spoons of syrup. 500 cals and 50 grams of protein, 85 carbs
meal 5. beef and potatoes. 50 grams protien, 75 carbs and 700 cals
meal 6. 3 chicken drumsticks and 1 cup oats. 55 grams protien and 60 carbs. 700 calories
meal 7. 2 cups cottage cheese, water and sweetner plus 5 spoons of oil. 60 grams protien and no carbs, lots of fats though. 700 calories.
bed.
now thats a LIGHTER day for me, i normally eat even more. thats how a real man eats. i started eating this way and they weights kept increasing and the scale kept on moving. thats what i wanna see from you.
if i offeneded you in any way please know that i could not give a fuck. i am here to help out anyone and you clearly asked to be put in your place. take my info like a man and fuckin USE IT!!!
not tryin to be mean, but
it's simple...do or do not....you have to eat to grow. nobody that i know of wants to eat a bodybuilders diet day in and day out...the food gets old and hard to swallow, but that's what makes the difference between the elite and the regulars, if you want to grow, you'll make yourself eat.
don't be afraid of eating food either, if you have to, add a little bit more cardio, there are pros out there that do cardio year round whether bulking or not. it comes down to what you want, if you're bulking on a clean diet, it's going to take a little longer to see bigger results and you have to suffer with eating those foods. add in a cheat day or two here per week and see what happens. you dont have to go crazy, but you shouldnt fear eating foods on a bulk.

gaining weight is harder than losing weight, imo. good weight anyways
what moma makes you might not be enough food for you to get huge.
so save that allowance money moma gives you and buy some more food

8- pak and 3 eggs, 2 pieces of bread
11- two wraps (turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, green peppers, onions) 16oz milk, fruit cup
3- one pound cold cut buffalo chicken with 4 pieces bread
WO around 6
7- torrent
8- two burgers with all toppings, broccoli
