Something I enjoy in the offseason... I saw this probably ten years ago... it was a recipe from Laura Crevalle. And as recently as last year, I changed it up just a little.
Turkey Joe
1 lb. ground turkey breast
1 lb. turkey sausage
1 can red beans
2 cans Manwich sauce
diced vegetables (onions, peppers; optional)
Brown the turkey and turkey sausage over medium heat. Drain as much liquid as possible. Reurn to heat, and pour in red beans (drain the liquid from these too). Mix in the 2 cans of Manwich sauce, and sprinkle in your diced vegetables. Serve heaping helpings on whole wheat buns.
Ridiculously simple, but very tasty. And by the way, the changes I made were the inclusion of turkey sausage and vegetables. This whole prep should take no more than 15 minutes, if even that long.

Man, the mother-in-law sent this one to me after she heard I was tired of drinking plain water, and had fallen prey to severe Crystal Lite abuse. It is good though. Makes the water a lot easier to deal with when plain water just will not cut it anymore. I am not even going to try and cover this up, or doctor it, or... whatever, man. I just copied, and now I am going to paste it.
For the love of God, I swear...

Here's a recipe for Sassy Water that I got from Prevention Magazine, The Flat Belly Diet. It's quite refreshing. Now I keep a zip lock bag of fresh spearmint leaves in the fridge and just drop a few in my glass of water too for a different experience. The spearmint leaves are real cheap in the produce section. When you get home rinse the leaves, leave them on the stems, shake the excess water off of them, wrap them between two pieces of paper towel and place in a zip lock bag, paper and all. They'll last about three weeks.
SASSY WATER
2 Liters water (81/2 cups)
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
1 medium cucumber (peeled and thinly sliced)
1 medium lemon (sliced)
12 small spearmint leaves
Place all ingredients in container and chill overnight.
Strain, separating the water from the ingredients and drink during the day

I am going to go out on a limb though, and say that adding the turkey sausage does alter the fat content to a great degree, since 4 oz. is 20g of fat.
But it is worth it.
