I was going thru a cabinet today and stumbled onto a NO supplement sample I had left over from the Arnold. I figured what the hell, lets give it a try. I had good results from this supplement before I got on Animal Pump. Today was shoulders and traps and this is how it went...

i love finding old supps and giving them a go after not taking them for a while.. i def think it gives an extra lil kick that we normally dont get... everyone falls in love with a certain supp from time to time... its great to go back and try something you havent in a while or try somethign new... btw im a big fan of cheating once in a while too...

Thanks Gunz! I have no problem cheating on that last rep if that's what it takes. I use pretty strict form so my cheating isn't over the top.

I'm so amped to hit legs tonight that I can't stand sitting here at work. 4 more hours till I'm under the bar....

-I've been seeing that thread around about them and thought I'd give them another go. I put my heels up on a plate and went at it. By the start of the second set my quads were fried and starting to cramp. I stretched them quick and knocked out the next set.

-I was smoked by the time I hit these and to make matters worse the back of my left knee felt strained halfway thru the second set. From there on I went real slow and controlled to avoid aggravating it.

For today's chest WO I'm actually going to have a lifting partner. Should be nice having him there to help push me even further.

Lately I've been so pumped about my WOs. Must be because I'm going heavy again and I love the heavy weight! It helps when you make gains from week to week. Let's you know your doing somethin'.

Thanks! Its been 2 1/2 years now, I should think it would be over by now. It was easier to deal with in the beginning but now it keeps getting tougher and tougher. Kinda like walking thru mud, at first you think 'this is easy' but before you know it its weighing you down so much that you can hardly move your feet. Fuck it! Enough whining about my life, could be worse.

Yesterday started strong and faded fast. I think it has to do with the ambien my doc prescribed, the dose seems to be too strong. I have to go back today so I'll just get a reduced subscription. Here's how yesterday went.

This WO wore me the fuck out! On the leg press I kept my feet high and tight. As you can see I didn't do any direct ham work, that's because my left ham has been really tight at the knee and I want to give it a rest. This WO only took 35 minutes. Expect better things out of me next time.

Since I was off work yesterday I took advantage of it and hit the gym for chest and bi's. The ambien hung with me, but not as bad. Here's how it went...

-The incline is where I felt the ambien. I just worked on slow, concentrated reps.

-The pump was insane on these. I'll have to hit this movement more often.

WO time was 62 minutes. All and all I had a good workout. Chest was huge, wish it looked like that all the time.

The problem with the caddy resolved itself but the shop felt the need to charge me $62 to tell me they couldn't find anything. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again.

Today is an off day, just eating and growing.

I apparently was stuck on 8's. By the third set of 8's on everything it was all I could do to hit my reps. My lats were fired and flared by the time I wrapped up this workout.

A note to self, stretch really good after hypers. My lower back was so pumped it tightened up like a mofo on the drive home. I thought about pulling over and stretching out. Got home and downed my sample of Torrent. Good shit. I added it to my list of wants when I get some money put back.

Ok.... So I wasn't going to vent about this because I believe everyone is intitled to do their thing BUT... First, when I got there some guys were shrugging so I figured I'd wait till later on in my workout, so I moved on.

Then it opened up for two minutes but I was in the middle of Pull-downs, so I finished them up. I looked over and a smaller guy, obviously a runner (by his physique and short SHORT shorts) had moved an aerobic step up into the rack and was doing some kind of step-ups with a rubberband around his legs. WTF! My jaw hit the floor. In fact, a guy at the gym made a point to come ask me if I was going to kick the guy out of the rack. I sad no and that I'd DL last. He finished up as I was finishing my V-handle pull-downs.

I grabbed a refill on my water and when I got back some dude was already in the rack doing pin presses. I just shook my head and did some hypers. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Thanks Broc. I'm glad a few of you got me to change up my routine to this set-up. I wasn't overly excited about the weights I used for tri's but they were a little fatigued from the presses. Oh well, a small price to pay for moving weight.

When you do a split like this your tris are going to be hit by the presses, but not as much as on chest (but I'm sure you have figured that out by now)... Which makes it great, because they are pre-exhausted and you can blast them with a few good exercises and stimulate mad growth.

Today I hooked up with Sugarbutt to sling some iron at a gym in Findlay. I've never been to this gym till tonight and it came on a recommendation from a guy at work. I was questioning his opinion because we have different lifting mentalities. He's about a buck fifty with no intentions of growing, which is fine, its his decision. So... we walk into the gym and the floors are carpeted. WTF, huge mistake, maybe. The guy starts showing us around and I'm getting more nervous, all machines and cardio equipment, WTF. Then at last the good shit, free weights and Hammer Strength. I changed and we got at some chest and bi's...

Yeah, the carpet was a little weird. They had pads down though so you could drop the weights.

Well, I only have four days to workout so I had that to start with. I knew I wanted legs to have their own day. Monday is always bench day for 90% of the gym so I figured why not start the week in style with legs.

I'm trying to bulk up and build strength so I wanted chest, back and shoulders to have their own days. I like to deadlift and I didn't want to put back right after legs since I need them fairly fresh to pull so I decided on chest after legs. I was doing tri's with chest but they were to gassed by the time I finished chest so I decided to hit bi's with chest instead.

Back has its own day and I didn't want to put tri's with them since I do shoulders the next day. Shoulders respond well to presses and you incorporate some tri's with all pressing movements and I wanted them fresh, that's why they come after shoulders. They do get some work from my shoulder presses but not as much as they were getting from chest days. Broc and Shaffer actually helped me come up with where to put my bi's and tri's in this routine. So here's what it looks like:

Monday: Wheelz
Tuesday: Chest and Bi's
Thursday: Back
Saturday: Shoulders and Tri's

hey the brownies beat the giants we still have to play them we will probably get smoked cause they cant fart on the field and not get fined....I am waiting to see ward get fined for the legit block the broke that dudes jaw...and Polomalu get a fine for gettin his bell rung...at least harrison didnt say the ref's were betting on the game...(probably cause the bet on the steelers)...Squeaked????..we got 21points in the 4th quarter it was somewhat close till the 4th. but not squeaked....ocho cinco needs to hold on to the ball a bit more though....it would be sweet to see him in the black and gold someday I would trade nasty nate washington hines ward and leftwich for him.

Back and shoulders seem to be my new favorites right now. Whatever I feel I'm weak at I attack with a vengence. first off we know not to believe all the numbers we see on here! 100% TRUTH! Now I don't have a problem with one or two cheat reps on your last set to push thru barriers but don't do it the entire lift. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Shit like that is why I gave this journey its title.

yeah not only the looking like a retard but you can fuck yourself up doing shit like that when you cant handle it...lower/upper back, jack your shoulders up and rip a bi or 2 like dorian yates (but he could handle the weight)....and most of all waste energy and strenght and not get proper growth from the movement

I gotta say I'm really liking your approach to lifting lately. You are concentrating on the mind-muscle connection more than the weight and that is key. I learned from doing DC that nothing compares to building that connection.

Definately a head game on the 405... Put the weight on like such 3 pps, + 35, + 10. Doesnt look nearly as intemidating and actaully looks close to the 365 you know you can pull. Grip it and rip it. Then after you know you can pull the weight cram the 4 pps on there and give it some hell!

Today is Back day. I'll be in the gym in a couple hours. I've had two days off in a row which is a first in a while. Unfortunately my sinuses are kicking my ass. My body feels great, now only if I could get the pressure out of my head. Nothing like doing deads to get the shit to drain!

So last night around midnight, Ash jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom and starting puking for several hrs. She told me to go sleep on the couch so I could get some rest. When I stood up to go out there I knew I was going to have problems soon. Except for me it came out the other end rather explosively. I crawled into bed then a few minutes later I started puking. We were in that piss poor shape all night so we had Ash's grandparents come get Izzy. I just literally got out of bed ten minutes ago.

I believe it to be food poisoning from KFC. Everything 'smelled like chicken'. I'm glad I was stuck shitting it out more than puking. I believe I can contribute that to the digestive enzyme in the pak, but who knows. Right now I'm trying to hydrate and I'll attempt to eat in a little bit.

As for training this week, who knows, hopefully I'll get back in the gym Wednesday. My back is sore and stiff as hell from sleeping in the fetal position. Then when I got up to move, my left knee was hurtin'. WTF, I have no idea where that came from...

I'm glad you're resting. It's one thing to train with a little cold, but when you're building what could be a sinus infection, you need to rest! (and eat, appetite or not).

-On another note, a guy at the gym asked me if writing down my workouts helped and I said yes. I told him about the forvm and how great it was to have the support of so many on here. He said he'll check it out so we'll see. If he reads this feel free to post something up in here.

Thanks Burt, I just had that itch to get in the gym and do something after having not lifted in a week. Being sick had kicked my ass and ruined my appetite all week and I just decided enough was enough, I sucked it up and hit the iron. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised how 'light' the 80's felt, even on round 3. I don't feel like I've lost much. We'll see tonight when I trash my legs.

I've actually used the 110's once a couple weeks ago for a couple reps but I was just wanted to hit a little bit of everything so I thought I'd use the 80's. 10 reps went up real easy but I knew that by round two and three of that set it'd be rough. They never got real heavy but the flyes on the otherhand were down right torture on round 3. Back to my normal split this week.

I hope you post some workouts up, I've been wondering how you been doing.

-WO took 49 minutes. Thank god for my 'Poor Man's PWO Shake'. That promo win couldn't have come at a better time. I actually hit some abs at home using my daughter as weight and she loved it. While doing crunches, she sat on my stomach and she'd say 'up' then she'd say 'down' and push me back. Then I did the plank with her on my back. She had a blast.

Thanks McFly, Izzy is entertained by the littlest of things. In fact, Ash was doing yoga yesterday morning and she was in the tree position (I don't know shit about yoga) and Izzy thought it was funny to try to push her over.

That's hysterical.... I bett Izzy had a blast... I use Tessa as my weight, but she's only 12 pounds AND A YORKIE... Ash can use her for core training...lol

I know you weren't happy with that workout, but we have days like that. You were just sick and your body is still in recovery mode... You'll be back at it, stronger than ever soon... Just go with it until it passes....
