its a temp. thing for now....jumpstarting the metabolism and staying within the 242 range. I've cleaned up the diet and going to keep the cardio to 2/3 times per week so that i dont get overally fat

Well so far this cardio surge/cleaned up feeding (had ground chicken and almonds for lunch) I've had recently is helping I think with what I want it to do. Not getting on any scales till Saturday, cause if i'm close then I'll move forward with what I've got planned. Still trying to plan out my weights after the openers, maybe I'll shoot from the hip or go forward with a plan......

its nothing major, it just flares up from time to time. The injury was from my throwing days, its an inflamed tendon in the shoulder plus I had a slight right pec strain back in 05. I just listen to it and train accordingly, something that time has taught me to listen to my body or it will rebel.....which is not good

walk-outs - worked up to 550 (no belt or wraps)
leg ext - 3x12
leg curl - 3x12
walk outs are just how they sound, load up the bar unrack it, walk out like your going to squat (foot position and form) set for a 1 count then re-rack. feel this gets my body used to handle heavy weights. everything else was to get blood flow into the legs.

they are, its a nice way to handle an extreme load or get used to having weight that your not used to. its the little things that helps get the big lifts going

once you get your feet set, and you act like you are going to squat the weight count for like 1 mississippi....you dont want to hurt yourself on these

Its an unsanctioned RAW meet that I heard about from McFly. Going to be doing squats and deads. Openers are going to be, if I remember correctly 465 on deads and 440 on squats.

Thanks Toni, yeah I learned a lot from yesterday, I know now what to expect and how to deal with people watching you lift. First attempt in the squat my nerves got the best of me, but after that got my bearings and some fun with it. Dont know when the next time I'll do this again, but I will be back at it since it was a lot of fun with it, maybe winter of this year or early 09....

underhand grip hs pulldowns - 4 sets, 3piesx9, 4piesx2 on last set
hs low rows - 4 sets, 4piesx6 on last set
behind neck pulldowns - 3setsx15-12 held for one count at bottom
pull-ups - 3, 3, 3
calf raises - 6x12
decline situps - 3x12
pulldown abs - 4x25
stayed away from anything that would upset the lower back being i pulled on sunday, wanted to get some blood into the back region. the hs pulldowns was a ball buster to get into the seat, let alone do the weight. Hit the abs pretty decent, need them stronger to lift the bigger weights......

stayed away from anything that would upset the lower back being i pulled on sunday, wanted to get some blood into the back region. the hs pulldowns was a ball buster to get into the seat, let alone do the weight. Hit the abs pretty decent, need them stronger to lift the bigger weights......

should have said I was giving the low back rest since I pulled two days earlier, but yes I have been stretching, find that it keeps me limber and helps with the explosion of the floor. The work never does end but thats what makes all of this worthwhile.....Brunelleschi's Duomo in Florence was a challenge to build, lots of work went into it, but in the end it was the crowning moment of the era......we will put our work in now, face the challenges that come and like the Duomo, stand the test of time

Superset Seated Calf Raises w/ HS Horizontal Calf Raises: 5 sets each x 20-12 reps
Back at it with G and Juggernaut and it felt damn good. Those dropset on the leg press was a killer, had to go off into "la la" land towards the end. All that cardio has really helped my endurance on these types of things....LOL. Walked up the steps at work to my desk and each one was a killer which means we did it right last night. Chest today, might dig into ye olde brain to find something to shock it up

Thanks Jim, the leg press did do the job. first leg training day in a while so you cant jump back into the loop at 100 mph. felt damn good

thanks mchik, dropsets not only test the muscular endurance but also mental since the shock on your body is greater than normal training.....sometimes it comes down to mind over matter.

thanks Toni, i'm starting to like the drop sets with different exercises more and more lately. Don't know why but they are helping a lot with other lifts. Its weird when the whole gym looks at you when your training legs, no matter how many times we do different things, it all seems alien to them......

thanks bro, gotta hit them hard to grow. Majority of those out there want a large upper body but are scared to train their lower. I prefer to build up the lower body, why go walking around top heavy, you look like a cartoon character

steep db incline - 95x8, 105x7, 125x5
flies - 4sets, 20-12
saw someone at the gym using chains to squat, so being my meathead self went over and shot the shit with him....he's a 161lb just getting back into PL shape. today's session took a while to get into a groove however i judged it as i went along with what weights to use. was pumped as hell after the drop set, so it felt good to flush out the fibers
followed this up with 4 scoops of Torrent and 2 tablespoons of GH Stack with 20 oz water

hit shoulders and arms yesterday early in the day, they were pretty tanked from the pressing on Friday so took it smartly and did some high rep stuff got a nice little pump out of them. arms consisted of supersets was pressed for time by the end of the session so pretty much my whole shoulder/tree ornament area was pumped.
Off today and cardio tomorrow, can't wait for that......ha

you know on friday right, this guy walks in my gym, lollipop in his mouth, not much to look at but he intrigued me for some reason. He minded his own business, didnt look at anyone, racked the bench press and did some solid warmup presses with 185. A few of the guys already training in the gym were watching him and smirking right. I knew something was up with this dude though. I think being around and into the sport as much as I am, I can just tell when someone is full of shit...like a poser lifter and when someone isnt; This dude was different. I watched him in the corner of my eye.
He gets on there, and gradually increases weight with every lift, sucking on that dam lollipop, ipod on..tuning out the world and paying attention only to his lifts.
He adds on 3 plates to each side, lies down, lifts his legs up and crosses them at the ankles, shifts his lollipop to the inside of cheek...unracks the weight and pumps out 12 reps! Like it was nothing! So, I look over at the other guys in my gym and made a smirk at them, saying yea..how you like that assholes?
They kinda make comments under their breadth and stare at him. He pumps out more bench presses, varying his weight and reps. Then he gets into skulls...135, fast and strong..I was like wooooah! I need to ask this dude what is up..cause for me, Im thinking..wo partner????
So I ask him, dude, what's up man? Where did you come from? He kinda looked at me in a daze and the guys in the gym were like...Toni shut up..you pissed him off.
I looked over my shoulder and said you shut the hell up. I turned back to the guy and he is in my face so I was like, ok...maybe I did piss him off...LOL
He told me he had his day in the limelight as a PL'r and he is getting back into it. I said getting back into it? It doesnt seem to me you ever left! We talked a bit, got a feel for one another I think...so maybe I could get something out of this. Im gonna work my way into his space if he becomes a regular at my gym! LOL

Yeah I wont make them a staple, just do it every now and again to get shit going again. The singles felt pretty decent, main concern with them this week was working on getting the timing down. Played it smart with my jumps in weights, still having lockout issues on my right side that needs fixing so thats going to be a focal point from here on out, gotta get it resolved

Thanks bro, the steep incline dbs I reallly like, it puts a great deal of stress on the extreme upper pec region but it also hits the front delts and tris real hard as well. I am usually sore for a while after I do them because of the shake up to my normal routine. I havent used them enough to notice any changes but I think I'll be hoping on the incline bench this week so if there are any changes in power it will be seen then

thats an awesome story Toni, walking in with a lolipop real cool about his buisness and got it done. Its great to notice that he had turned the world out around him, those who were mocking his movements and how he approached the lift, sitting there juding a book by its cover. He let his actions do his speaking for him and let those there notice that it doesnt matter what you look like physically, but what you have inside that counts when it comes to training and your mentality in this sport.
Careful about working into his space, sounds like he bites.....LOL. That would be great if you could get a regular person to either be your training partner, or have a reliable source to spot you on your heavy lifts....who knows maybe you'll be training with a lollipop in your cheek also

I love the idea of eating your meals and not drinking them. I am a huge believer in that. Yea it sucks to have to cook 6-8 meals but I feel that the benfits are so much greater if you do so. If you are looking for a sick ass Pump try throwing some Shock Therapy in there as well. Take the Shock Therapy 30 minutes before you workout, and then your Animal Pump 10 minutes after that with some gatorade. Try it- my pumps were threw the roof when I did.

I am about to throw in some Nitro that I have and may throw in the GH Max and NS combo that you listed. I used that last fall and it was killer. Took about 3 weeks to get going, but solid stuff. Gotta get ST back too.

I switch between NOX3 and ZMA as my pre-bed supplement. Ive been doing ZMA for quite some time now so its time to switch it up. Like with food and training, when variety is thrown in there it switches things up, hoping for a nice change from the NOX3

The House is a big fan of ZMA & NOx3 before bed. NOx3 would be good for the repair process, as it would open the passageways and circulate more blood to damaged muscle. Give it a shot, just stay away from Labrada!

haha.....there was a spring but it stopped mid thigh, at that point it was all brute force to lock it out. 600 would be a fantastic pull right now, working on getting there sooner than later

See that's how calm and easy those lifts are for wides...while pulling 500+ pounds he can check himself out in the mirror realizing he has to adjust his hat next set and thinks he should have worn grey sweats instead of blue.

I switch between NOX3 and ZMA as my pre-bed supplement. Ive been doing ZMA for quite some time now so its time to switch it up. Like with food and training, when variety is thrown in there it switches things up, hoping for a nice change from the NOX3

I trained it for a diff feel,im def not a fan ill tell you now.I wouldnt be able to hit 405 on that for awhile!

thanks Jim, the hacks for me allow a more narrow stance to preform the squat motion, so it hits different regions on my legs. The pump from the motion is insane, and yes lets hope for bigger calves

db bench - 90x8 (palms facing), 105x6, 120x5, 120x6
incline flies - 4x15
hs incline press - 3x12
Hanging leg Raise - 3x12
Throwing Ab Circuit (crunches, toe touches (feet vertical on wall), barbell twists, landmines, 6"flutter kicks) did this 3 times
big day on inclines, did not know i had that stuff in me, I think the 340 is a PR but dont quote me on that, it felt very smooth. Tried the palms facing db press, got a good stretch however the PLer in me took over when the dbs were lowered (elbows were in a tucked position so as they came down my lats flexed couldnt get full ROM), so went to regular. did some stretching of the pecs followed by high rep stuff to flush it out.

but in the effort of attempting them or even doing what you said you could do with them would make it that much more worthwhile....moving weight like that helps whether it be for 1 rep or 100, its still weight moved

Unilateral Preacher Iso Machine: 3 sets x 15-10 reps
Unilateral Preacher DB Curls: 4 sets x 15-6 reps
Great time, lots of very large indivduals there, gives me something to shoot for. Those 250lb dumbells were looking real tempting to give them a try but was pretty damn gased at that point. Ate my ass off yesterday to recover from this, however my upper back/trap/neck region is still sore, gotta love it

still trying to work off all that damn holiday food, the cardio I did yesterday should jumpstart the process. I hear you on the water weight, would rather have that as muscle. Gotta adjust the split this week due to prior thing I have to do on Saturday. I'm looking forward to training tonight

it takes me 10 weeks to do 50 minutes of cardio....I do 5 minutes before legs each week!!!!

partial deads (2"below knee) - warmups, 405x3, 495x3, 585x1, 605x0
db rows - 110x12, 125x17, 125x16
close grip pulldowns (with v-bar) - 3sets, stackx4 on last set
hs high row - 3 sets, 5pies per sidex5 on last set
Behind the Neck Pulldowns - 1 dropset
Calf Raises - 5x20
Pulldown Abs - 4x25
first time doing partials in a very long time, was a little weary about doing them since the last time i did them resulted in bad things. I know what a 605 deadlift feels like in my hands, the thing is now to get that son of a bitch moving. 125s are the highest dbs we have.....felt real good today, was soaked but felt good. Got shoulders tomorrow due to prior engagements on Saturday.....
Some people need to look in the almighty mirror before they train.....saw things tonight that I'm sure will give me nightmares

Thanks LD, when I was doing these I thought my jumps in weight were to high....I guess blind ignorance helps when trying to get through a sticking point in an exercise. This lets me know that I can handle these extreme weights, its all matter of time to place the correct pieces in place and get that pull

just a thought, for what it's worth, maybe try your partials a tad higher fora few weeks so you ONLY can use your back in the movement, I am sure right now from the floor you have enough power to get it off the floor, just need to get the back use to the weight.
